The convenient online Qtrac checkin and subsequent text communications avoided sitting around in an ER waiting room for hours. I knew exactly what was going on at all times and the visit summaries documented everything very well. We have now officially seen every tech, nurse, and doctor there, and each of them knocked my socks off. They acted with the highest level of care and compassion, and their way of discussing medical/technical topics is really unmatched from anywhere else we have been - and much less expensive than the ERs. Every time I left, I knew exactly what was done and exactly how to proceed with care when we got home, what to look for, and if needed, when I should come back or go to the ER. On Friday, Dr. Kate performed a second acupuncture treatment. I know a LOT about cat acupuncture now, and some herbal treatments that no other doctor had ever even mentioned before. She spoke fluently in these topics in a way that a beginner like me could easily understand. I left Friday knowing how long to wait for movement after the new herb before taking her back for an enema. That return visit the next day was fast and easy (at least it was for me) and Dr. G came out to counsel me on a couple other issues, too. I have never been rushed, I've always left with all of my questions answered and a path forward. I cannot say enough good things about Animal Urgent Center. Sarah was so kind and friendly, she went above and beyond to check in with us, walk us back to the room, go over all information on what the appointment would look like, explain every and all process so we knew what to expect next, walk us out, and take GREAT care of our dog. It was our first time at OVRS so she made sure any and all questions were answered! Some even before we even had to ask! Dr. Sauerbrey was so incredibly kind, professional, and took her time explaining all of our options, giving her recommendations, but making sure at the end of the day our dog would have the best chances and best treatment possible. She was kind, empathetic, and so easy to work with. She answered all questions happily and was a joy to meet and work with. ER experience was also equally as good I was used to another very popular ER vet and when they said you will be here a while I said I'm prepared. When they called me back in an hour with full diagnosis, meds and the best explanation I was confused and impressed. I will share my story just as others have with me. This is the most exceptionally special veterinary care I have ever experienced.

The person on the phone heard about the symptoms our cat was having, and expressed to us that they were currently pretty slammed. She said "but you know what if you can get here we'll get him on supportive care right away". We jumped in the car immediately. We arrived and were immediately seen. Every member of the staff treated our boy like their own. They were so gentle, compassionate, and sensitive to the difficulty of the situation. Unfortunately at the end of the evening we had to euthanize our boy. The doctor was direct with us about whether he thought hospitalization would actually give our boy comfort or if it would just be prolonging his pain. And again after making that awful but necessary decision, every staff member was kind, gentle, and sensitive despite also being very busy with other important emergencies. From the very beginning we were comforted and taken care of by these veterinary professionals. It was still one of the hardest moments of our lives, but the staff made it as easy and comfortable as they possibly could have.

When she sees that you can think for yourself then she starts ignoring your emails, taking your kindness for weakness, trying to make you worship the ground she walks on so she can get what she wants and when you see her after the first few times she comes off rude and says atrocious things to you. Gaslighting, manipulating and dominating. Just because someone wears a title it does not make them a normal person. Laura L. is VERY controlling and if you do not kiss her butt she will dump your pets with no thought of how this may affect them. A serious pet lover would never do this to your dog. She left ours with no post treatment because we would not refer to her as Dr. and called her by her first name in an email. She got seriously narcissistically injured by this and other things as well. No time for fools. They just really do not care about you or your pets. Its all about their EGO and $$$. We were shocked that this happened at this practice. We had high hopes but we are very disappointed in this vet. Nice front desk staff though. Gotta give some of them kudos! The problem with so many people today is they want blind trust and don't think they have to earn it. They do this and need to move quickly so you can't see how phony they are. It is a set up you want to avoid. These are our pets we are talking about. Screwed up people have no business near our pets! Always standing like Dr. Evil rubbing the bottom lip with the thumb and forefinger trying to come up with the next manipulation tactic. I do not want somebody this sinister near my pets! I will admit I was SHOCKED but then again I see right through people. Been a target all my life and you cannot fool me. Nice try though! Really did our best to work with her. Even let a few red flags go by. Can't do that with these types. They escalate everything and they insist on full power & control. Not happening. We have a new vet the same day and are looking forward to moving on. Should have dumped her awhile back but we are just too nice at times. God rewards your patience with these types.

I gave them a call and they said to bring her in right away. We got there and there were a few other emergencies they were dealing woth. I waited about a half hour and that was ok because Lola was in no major pain at that time. She was bleeding, but when your nail is ripped off, what do you expect? My one complaint was that they seemed almost too lax that Lola was getting blood all over. I was told not to worry that they would clean it up. We went back to the room, then vet came in right away and took and look, then shared the plan. They took her in back and 10 minutes later she came out woth her paw all cleaned and wrapped. I felt very happy with how clear the vet was in regards to the treatment and her care she was receiving. I could hear the staff in the back talking to her and comforting her as they gave care. They didn't try to get me to run extra tests or provide extra services so when it was time to checkout, the cost was half the price of the last time this happened and we took her to a different ER vet. It was such a relief as these times are tough. I was very happy with this place and will likely Make it our regular vet! Thank you!

If you are looking for a vet who will show compassion not only throughout your pet's life but also…read moreduring one of the hardest days you'll ever face, I encourage you to carefully consider your options. Based on our experience, I would recommend considering VCA BRIGHTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL before here. This review is not simply about the heartbreaking loss of our dog. It is about how this vet treated our family during one of the most difficult moments we have ever experienced. Our dog was a patient here for years. We adopted him as a senior dog, knowing his medical needs would likely increase with age. Throughout that time, we invested thousands of dollars to ensure he had the best quality of life possible, only because we understood that was the only option. During the final months of his life, we were at this clinic monthly, if not more often. Everyone knew our dog. As his condition declined, getting him into a vehicle became extremely difficult. We made the painful decision to provide him with a peaceful, in-home euthanasia through a hospice service. We elected to have his cremated remains delivered to Towne & Country for pickup because the hospice provider routinely works with this clinic. When we called Towne & Country to ask if his ashes had arrived, we were told they had not and that we would be contacted when they did. After following up directly with the crematory, we were shocked to learn that Towne & Country had REJECTED delivery. The crematory informed us that when they contacted the clinic to clarify, they were given a "hard no." Unable to understand why this would happen, I drove to the vet in person. I was told that because our dog had not been euthanized by Towne & Country, they would not accept delivery of his ashes, even though he had been an established patient there for years and had received extensive treatment from this practice throughout the final chapter of his life. At a time when compassion should matter most, this response was devastating. We were already grieving the loss of our beloved dog, and instead of being met with empathy, we were left scrambling to figure out how we were going to bring him home one last time. To make matters worse, while I was visibly upset trying to understand the situation, a member of the front desk staff laughed at my reaction. This experience also reflected a broader pattern that we experienced during our dog's care there. When we sought a second opinion, Towne & Country was unwilling to send his medical records to another veterinary practice. Every pet owner deserves the ability to seek another professional opinion without added obstacles. I understand that every veterinary practice has policies. However, policies should never come at the expense of compassion, communication, or basic empathy, especially for long-standing clients experiencing profound loss. A simple conversation or willingness to help us navigate the situation would have made all the difference. This experience permanently changed how I view this practice. Losing a pet is painful enough. No family should have to endure additional heartbreak simply trying to bring their beloved companion home one last time. I rarely write negative reviews because I know every business can have an off day. Unfortunately, this was not a minor inconvenience, it was one of the most important moments of our lives, and Towne & Country failed us when compassion mattered most. VCA Brighton Animal Hospital was amazing. We wish we would've had his ashes brought there.

So he had to leave with the cat. My son lives in Midland and went there because it was the only place he found that was open because of the holiday weekend. I have also had to take a few of my pets here and they are WAY overpriced. My dog threw a small bone up hole, which then caused her to vasovagal. We didn't know that's what was wrong with her, but I had already read reviews that they like to blame animals getting a hold of marijuana as reason for the pet to be sick. When we got there, which was around 4 PM. They took her in the back said they were gonna do some labs and an x-ray and then around 10 PM. Finally called us back. The first thing he asked is do you have marijuana in your house. I said no and he says well what we think happened is that she had vasovagal episode when she threw up. So $600 for them to keep her in a cage for hours to tell us that she vasovagaled and was fine.
