I am giving this unconditional, 5 Star recommendation to Commercial Speedometer for the strength of their customer service and the surgical precision they employed in the repair of the instrument cluster in my 2001 Mercedes CLK 320 convertible. Bought new in late 2000 and now with over 290,000 miles on the odometer, the cluster LCD panels failed over time, as they are prone to long term failure. They expertly disassembled my cluster, replaced the defective components and reassembled and tested it, providing me also with solid re-installation advice. Everything, including the central LCD panel instructions, work as they should. If you've got a car (MBZ vintage owners, take note), and need the cluster repaired, see them, or send it in for repair. Dont know why theres a guy with a great catch as their company photo but, ok? Lets roll wit it! The instrument cluster panel on my 95 Taco stopped working. Had no clue if it was the cluster panel of the speedo cable. They dont make certain parts for this truck so i was stressing. I was told bout this place from my mechanic so I brought the cluster in dropped it off and hope they could fix it. A few days later I get a call and they tell me to pick up my cluster that it was never broken. Talk about honesty. They could of could of called me and said it was fixed and charge me some feria. Instead they helped me trying to solve the problem. They said most likely it was my speedo cable. Just take it off and bring it in. I brought in the speed odometer cable a couple days later they called me to pick it up. I installed it back in my truck and put the whole instrument panel back to normal and it worked!! Wow. Okay. I was looking at changing gears in my transfer case and speedo. Total nightmare. These guys made a mechanical speedo converter to my specs, including ratio for $130 shipped. Within 24 hours I get a call that there is nothing wrong with my cluster and I can come pick it up. They advised me its more than likely a wiring or sensor issue. I looked all over for a place to get the speedometer for my 1975 Dodge truck. These guys don't have a website. I found them on Yelp. They fixed my speedometer in a reasonable time and at a reasonable price. It works great. When I took it to them the knew exactly what it was doing and what was wrong with it before I could tell them. It was a common problem and they knew how to fix it. Prior to having Commercial Speedometer look at it, I took it to Folsom Lake Toyota, who charged $355 and never fixed it, just identified that the issue was somewhere in the cluster. This place is amazing. My instrument cluster in my 06 f250 went out. Its was about $366 to order a refurbished one plus a $300 core charge or I had the option of sending it out and waiting weeks for repair. I was referred here. For me it was $250 and within the same day I dropped off I picked it up and installed it. Not only did they save me money but a lot of time as well. Any issues I have with other vehicles I will be back here with no hesitation. I dont know if I just got lucky with same day repair. Even waiting a couple would have been worth it. Excellent service. I dropped off the instrument cluster from my wife's GMC Yukon at around noon (Thursday). In an earlier phone conversation I'd been told that if I dropped off by 10am they could usually get it completed same day. I did not need the cluster back urgently as wife is out of town and I was happy to return after the weekend to collect. Got a voicemail at 2.45pm (same day) telling me it was all ready to collect! So essentially a full rebuild on a GMC instrument cluster with failing stepper motors causing needles to stick etc... all done and back in the truck in an afternoon. And they cleaned up the glass so the unit looks like new. Great business - I'd happily use again and highly recommend. read more

The instrument panel on a 2001 Chevy Tahoe had a parasitic draw. The cruise and high beam indicator lights on the cluster would turn on 20 seconds after all interior lights turned off. My cluster went out on my 2004 Yukon. I'm a auto technician. Check my powers and grounds and knew the cluster needed to be replaced. Didn't want to go to dealer and get the run around. I Had a very unique intermittent issue with my 2005 4runner instrument cluster. I had Sac. Speedometer rebuild it for a very reasonable cost, a few months later the same issue returned. I called and spoke with them about the problem and had no problem in returning it to the for further repairs. They spent a considerable amount of time and effort into diagnosing and correcting the problem. I even had to return with my vehicle ( it was not a problem) and they spent an additional hour installing it into the vehicle to make sure it was functioning properly. The owner did this himself!. Their attention to detail and customer service is exceptional. I would highly recommend them. PS: The dealer said that they had never seen this issue before and wanted $1200 to replace the cluster. read more

These guys are awesome! I bought a speedometer for a 94 bluebird bus because it was not working. After I got it GREG one of the owners said sometimes the speedometer could be fine and it might be another issue so that I should bring in my old one before installing the new one He said if it worked he would return the one I bought from him. Turns out he was right. They took it back and returned my money. He then helped me trouble shoot what the issue could be over the phone. It's nice to deal with an honest company like this. Most companies would not suggest that, and just be concerned about making a sale. This shop knows their business, and more importantly, their clientele...my niece's 2002 Nissan Xterra's instrument cluster temp gauge was inoperative, and the fuel gauge was not reading accurate (full when filled up)...Commercial Speedometer zeroed in on the problem to a tampered ABS LED light that was removed, affecting the temp and fuel gauge. The turn around was SUPER quick, and the cost was more than reasonable. This is my third time using them, and they've come through every time. High ratings for Commercial Speedomter!!! read more
