Rude STAFF HERE AT COMMISSARY! Rude management who know zero about food service & quality produce. If you don't like the military, then don't work at the commissary. Smh! I've been here for five years with husbands 2 deployments overseas, and I must say that the commissary has been very disappointing on so many areas and in so many ways from the food to the rude lady at the self checkout counter today at 19:00 3/10/26. Management needs to be shaken up frothe top Down. The nicest people are the bag clerks who work for tips. PS Upper management give the troops and soldiers, the worst quality of produce and meat etc. & the highest prices. We shop here when desperate. They also charge sales tax & call them "service fees" . You're probably wondering why I gave such an innocuous grocery store only a mid-range score. Well, I'll tell ya.. While it's true you can buy just about all your produce here cheaper than you could find it off post, there's a few things about this commissary that are 8-up. Like.. Why do the cashier ladies at the self checkout stations find it necessary to check my ID...twice?? Yeah. Your ID gets checked TWICE. Once by the machine when you first scan it (which would be sufficient enough in and of itself) and again by the live person watching all the stations, regardless if the machine has already accepted your ID. In fact, the only time this doesn't happen is when you're in uniform. I get why the live cashiers exist. But I most certainly DON'T get the need to double and triple check someone's ID which is already being verified by the scanner (seriously, I got my ID checked 3 times in 15 seconds today). In fact, the cashiers at the regular checkout lanes don't even really check them that thoroughly; probably because they realize their jobs have been made hella easier by allowing the scanners to do the work for them. Speaking of the scanners though.. I swear you're better off going through the regular checkout lanes, even if you only have a few items. Because these weight sensors act like they have problems. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've had to wait for the scanner to catch up with what I've scanned and placed in the bag. Sometimes it'll just sit there ostensibly stuck on the screen claiming that I haven't scanned the item in the bag yet when I clearly have. Or it'll tell me to, "please continue scanning" when I've already finished. That's basically my biggest pet peeve with this place though. Other than the fact that the commissary at Fort Bragg was bigger. Plus, there were two of them. But like I said, you can get produce here hella cheap. The parking is okay...though I don't like how you have to walk to the middle of the sidewalk just to get your shopping cart down the ramp thingy. The rest of it is curbed off. Makes it inconvenient for introverts like me who are just trying to plan our escape routes ahead of time and get the hell out of there. I'm gonna give the Fort Bliss commissary 3 shopping carts full of cheap, yet fresh produce out of 5. I realize I've only checked into this place once out of the years of coming here. But I just had to talk about this one. read more

It's a military version of a grocery store. You can find almost everything you need in terms of produce, meat, dairy, etc. You can even find some specialty items -- ethnic, gourmet and such. Also, it has flowers and plants, deli, bakery and sushi stand. They will make sushi on site, so they are fresh. You really can't beat the price here especially brand name products. If you are talking about generic products, you maybe able to find cheaper price elsewhere. There are some off-brand products sold here also. To be honest, I'm not a real fan of the produce section here. I usually stick to the basics like potatoes, onions, carrots, etc. I try to avoid shopping here on a payday weekends since it will typically be very crowded with Soldiers and retirees who just got paid shopping to fill up their fridges and pantries. Its hard to rate a Commissary Grocery Store. They are always clean, they always have a bigger selection of German and Korean items. Their prices are okay, the store is clean, well organized, good costumer service yet it always seems like something is missing. Their meats prices they do look much lower than any other in the area, but I don't know. I don't get full of joy before visiting one. I ordered a cake for my BN and the person who got the call wrote it wrong in the order slip, so I ended up getting a cake for "The XXX BM vs BN" You would think specially inside a post BN for Battalion is a known request. read more

This is a pretty big commissary with a lot to offer. They recently made some changes in the store so make sure you take a look before you go in. It can be confusing at first. I recommend coming in with a list of what you want to buy. It'll make 5hungs so much easier and keep you focused on your list without grabbing too many extras. read more

It's got food, and stuff. Your expect something else from a commissary then uhhhh, maybe you shouldn't be at the commissary. I do happen to like their deli, ALOT. Crowded on pay days and weekends... Like dangerously crowded... You've been warned. Bring ya Pop gun and stay strapped or ya might not get that last coupon for the Special K cereal 2/$4... .... And if you think they're open on major holidays.... Think again (sometimes early close but usually not open). And if ya think you can just pop in for last minute thanksgiving food like day before? Tax free is always nice but I do not like coming here. It gets sooo busy on weekends and you gotta park so far away. When you finally go inside, people are just blocking the aisles everywhere!!!!! But anyways.. they have coupons on the commissary app and you can just add them to your commissary card. When you check out, you can just swipe the card to use them. read more

I witness today how an employee down talked an Veteran this was heartbreaking to watch. The commissary employees should be there to help and assist on the self check out. But to witness the frustration she displayed toward the Elderly customers was just a shame on the entire Fort Bliss commissary and management. When the Elder voiced is complaint to the manager. The manager just dismissed him. So I walked up to vouch for the men. And I was dismissed as well by both managers on the floor. Sad to see management so heartless and no one should be discriminated because of their skin color. read more

This Commissary is very big and has a lot of selections. One thing that's bothering is how frequent their prices change. When something is on sale its hard to tell because they don't have adds. They do offer online coupons, but its rarely for groceries-mainly hygiene or cleaning products.The meats are decently priced, but along with every grocery store in El Paso, the seafood is pretty expensive!!! And its all pre frozen. Its best to shop here on the opposite week of payday due to the crowds. They run out of food supplies very fast, so don't be surprised if you try to buy lettuce or can vegetables and they are out of the ones on sale. There should be a minimum to how much you can buy at once. But overall all that, its a good place to shop when you're not in hurry (or else you may have anxiety). There are baggers who aren't paid and they will take your groceries to your car and are very sweet(be kind and tip ;)). I still will continue to shop here, they have a sushi stand that sells HAWAIIAN POKE!! I always get a bowl to go on my way out. Makes me feel like part of home is with me. It's a great place to shop, great variety to choose from and even greater prices! Hands down the most cheapest and convenient store I've shopped at in El Paso. It's easy to miss the poster on the right at the entrance doors but they have a list of deals available. At first glance you probably wont see it but if you take your time to check it out they might have items on your shopping list on sale. For some reason I enjoy shopping here maybe its knowing your saving tons of money. But every isle is labeled with the items in there.Lots of signs in different departments and they are always up to date with the current season's theme. Overall just well organized and just an easy time shopping. It's the only store I take my time shopping at just so I don't miss anything on sale or find a better deal on something. read more

TBH I'm not a fan of commissaries. We've been stationed all over this country and one of the first I do when we go to a new duty station is find a grocery store that's better than the commissary. I don't really shop here I normally go to Albertsons, sprouts or Walmart. They don't have variety of good quality produce as well as their meat and chicken. Although I you can get pretty everything here I just I find some of their products are over priced. One of my biggest pet peeve about this commissary is the ID checking at the self checkout like how many Effie times do you want see my ID. And with this whole COVID going on they stop allowing people for bringing their own grocery bags which is fine just put a damn sign in the front to let people know so that we don't have to find out later. Same thing goes for when their system is down. You now we can all read and follow directions ok. It would make your job a lot easier if you put a sign to let people know so we can come prepared and not have to hold up the line to go to the ATM. Unfortunately their system was down again and so after waiting in line for who knows how long I come to the register and Right as soon as I put all my grocery on top of the belt she says we can only accept credit. She didn't say that their system is down so I thought ok I'll just move to the next register. While I was walking away she says well ma'am our system is down and so that's what we can accept now. So I'm like where's the sign saying that she goes oh but we've been saying it on the PA. I've been here for the past 45min and I haven't heard any announcements. She's oh cause we were busy so..... The baggers: I truly appreciate them for what their doing but damn man do I have to tell you to hurry up. Like seriously, the cashier already start ringing the next customer but the bagger is still bagging my stuff. There was this one time where I had to stop this kid bagging my stuff because he was about to put none food item with food item. I don't know if they train them or not but they seriously needs training in order to be efficient. In my own opinion I want all the commissary thought out this country to be better because I believe Our soldiers and their families deserves the best. read more

Oooof. Where do I begin? So, upon arriving this was my go to, and trusted place to shop. I quickly realized this was not one that was managed well. The meat selection is subpar compared to my local Alberstsons or Walmart on Dyer. The produce seems frozen prior. Any military member or family knows what to expect after a few shopping trips here. Its kind of like a Walmart market mixed with a lil surplus/warehouse supply of groceries. My husband and i try to get most of our main supply of groceries here that generally last us a month or so. We still depend on Albertsons or even Walmart for fresher and better produce. Dont come here on a payday or you will get flat tired or run over by a shopping cart or screaming kids. And the lines are ridonkulous! The prices are good for the most part, especially the meats with the exception of their seafood dept. That stuff is way overpriced and horrible quality. Some days, you'll get lucky to have 0.10$ limes and $1 hamburger helpers. Other days,its 50 cent limes and almost 3bux a hamburger helper! Its weird. Produce is a hit or miss at the same time. Some stuff is fresh on one side and wilting on the other. It remains a mystery of how good a shopping trip you can have here. At least the sushi is fresh and delish here! read more

I've been coming to this grocery store since October of 2015 recently they have changed their hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 7 days a week except for major holidays so make sure you check their website or posted signs for changes on their hours of operation. When you come to this establishment there's plenty of parking and during certain hours there will be two exit doors open and one entrance Door During certain hours of the day there is two sides of the grocery store where you can do self checkout there is also plenty of cash registers open with customer service Clerks that will assist you and speeding your way right out. There is certain rules and regulations for coupons you're not allowed to combine coupons and there is a 4 coupon limit for the same item unless you have separate transactions depending on who the cashier is will allow it others will not. When you come to the store the best days to shop is any days away from the best days to shop for groceries is anytime before the end of the month and before the 15th day of the month this is when it's the most crowded avoid these days but if you don't mind the crowds than thats your choice. :) I like the fact that the store is always organized and kept up I love that their restrooms are always clean and fresh-smelling. I did not know that there was a service fee applied to your receipt at the end of your transaction but considering the reasonable prices that you get here I think it's just fair. They always try to keep a fair amount of ethnic food on hand they do their best to keep their shells well-stocked I like the fact that they're always having sales and if you come into the front of the grocery store there is a rack with coupons that come in handy for certain items that you were going to purchase also there's 3 sizes of grocery store carts for your needs one that you can push your children in a larger one just for groceries and a smaller one for smaller needs and then there's the handheld basket there's also handy and sanitizer wipes in the front as you enter the store so that you can wipe down your basket to rid so germs Their vegetables and fruit are always a great selection and always fresh they always have good prices on meat milk and eggs and dairy products they have a huge Frozen freezer selection. They also has a bakery and a deli counter with in the store were you can buy baked Bakery items and fresh deli cut Meats among a few other items. If there ever is a time when you need to find something in her having trouble doing so there are Clerk's that are more than willing to help you to find what you need if they carry it within their store. read more

Tbh I hate going here it's overly expensive I go to Sam's and get much more produce for the best prices the people at the self checkout line always check your ID not sure why when you already scanned your ID to pay for groceries I really hate that and the fact that there meat and milk go bad so fast trying to buy it. I Love shopping on post. For some reason the Commissary was the only place I could find a whole red snapper. It was a little pricey but, I'm trying to eat good tomorrow. Shopping at the commissary is a hit or miss depending on the day. I like coming to the commisary, the general staff are friendly, the prices are fair, and they have a large variety of brands. The Customer Service is however lackluster. Many times there are not enough checkout lines open during peak times i.e. upcoming holoidays, 1st or 15th of the month. That becomes quite frustrating. Also the older baggers try to beat the college students/dependants to the punch so they can get the tips. I've seen baggers try to bag customers back to back or rush through a customer if they didn't receive a tip. When I go, I request one of the teenagers. read more

Very big size commissary compared to other military bases. There is two self checkout lanes on both ends of the commissary making it easier to navigate. As always there seems to be an issue with the type of produce that the commissary provides. Some weeks its good other weeks not so much. Prices can be higher than other grocery stores, but sometimes the savings that you get for meat and non perishable items can make up that difference. read more

I don't like the new way the commissary is organized. There's more space but it's just not the way I'm used to it. They already put up Halloween signs and candy when it's way too early... Very disappointing also not to find any organic fruits. Last year they had organic apples and pears which I loved buying. Now I don't see them anymore. Oh well, I won't be living stateside for too long. I'm going to enjoy shopping here with what I can find and save compared to buying off post. I give it 4 stars because I had the best, most fresh & juicy ribeye steaks and short ribs last night. They were packaged and just bright out by the butcher 2 days ago when I bought them. No kidding they were the best steaks I've had so far this year. Great job to the meat department. I'll be coming to see you guys every month read more

This is a great commissary as far as price and brand-name selection. It beats out nearly any grocery store in the area when it comes to this. It's a fairly large store, commissary-wise. The overall store is clean and well-kept. Additional products are available in the beauty and health category (vitamins, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc). You can pre-load coupons onto your commissary rewards account online to save even more and either swipe your rewards card at checkout or enter your alt number. It's free to sign up; online or in store. Sometimes there are paper coupons available by the item in the store. There are two flaws though. One is the customer service. Not all but the majority have an attitude. You never know what you will get and I don't get that, especially knowing that the starting pay there is pretty good (except maybe the baggers). Perhaps it is because many of the customers here have attitudes too? Whatevs. The other thing is and as most other reviewers have rightly said, don't go during or around pay days and avoid the high peak hours. It's atrocious. Literally, ATROCIOUS. Swarms of people. The majority are irritated, blocking up aisles, and things are low in stock from the sheer amount of shoppers. I have forgotten this and found myself in the lion's den a time or two. When I finally made it back to my vehicle afterwards, I was a heap of emotions. If you are eligible to shop at the commissary, I suggest you do but be aware of the time of day and bring a few dollars if you go through regular checkout (baggers work on tips). read more

I really like shopping at commissaries because i find that you get pretty good prices. This commissary doesn't disappoint. However the biggest thing i dislike is that the self checkouts are for either 15 items and below or 40 items and below.. there is no self checkout for unlimited items. I have been to other army posts and they had an unlimited self checkout lane. Most times i dont carry cash with me so i rather do self checkout than have the baggers help and not be able to tip them. So i would really like to be able to get all i need and still be able to do self checkout, instead of go through the commissary counting the items in my cart. Other than that, i like this commissary. Most if not all employees I have encountered have been nice. Ohh and side note the sheet cakes with the whipped topping are delicious, cheap and nicely decorated for birthday parties or other occasions! read more

It's like any other commissary bit bigger than some though. I like using the commissary rewards program for coupons while you shop. Payday is the WORST day to go. Best to go early morning or late afternoon, the crowds die out by then. It's mostly restocked in the morning which is why that's the best time to go. The aisles are always blocked cause most of the shoppers likes to go shop down the middle! WIC does not always work here and you can never find which ones are approved. The checkout lines aren't always monitored so it can take a while if the lines are long. They carry a good variety of products. Other than that, I come to shop here like any other military member and that is to save money and help support our troops! read more
