this is one of the best commissaries in the nation. The the produce department always looks good with a large selection of fresh fruit and organic selections if desired. Throughout the store the entire staff is helpful and goes beyond and above to help you find things and if it's out of stock, they will for you just ask . I make my own pasta sauce and bake everything from scratch to help me with my diet and overall health. Usually I love going to the Deli/ Bakery, with their workers always trying to make it the best for the customers, but last time I went i was highly unsatisfied because i had to wait 20 min or more for bread to be finished baking. Bakery lady was very rude and kept saying "5 min" when it's already been 20 min. I just believe this should've been done already and wouldn't have to be a hassle especially since I was a time crunch because i work and was on my lunch. read more

I was just at the commissary (self checkout) an item rang up several dollars more the the shelf price. The person for self check out told me off big time explained it was the surcharge and proceeded to tell me off again. I tried to tell her the 69 cent surcharge wouldn't put it up nearly 5 dollars then she said "I'm not going to stand here talking about it with you" and took the item off and stormed away It was rather a shocking display of hostility read more

I came here grocery shopping with my mom and daughter since my mom needed groceries. The only way to get in the base is with a military identification card. My dad is retired navy and my mom has a military identification card. As we entered, the Commissary was empty. I love how it's not super crowded like 32nd Commissary. There's no tax and some items in the Commissary are way cheaper than outside. So much to choose from fresh produce to frozen dinners. My daughter needed her snacks and drinks. There were a couple of workers restocking items in the store. Location is very clean and organized. I definitely enjoyed my grocery shopping experience. Back in the day, I used to have a military card identification but after college was when I couldn't have a military identification anymore. It was nice having it but anyway.... There's plenty of parking in front so that's not an issue. Definitely a place to go if you don't like crowds when it comes to grocery shopping. read more

This Commissary is less crowded than 32nd. Parking is plentiful. I always find what I need at this location (i.e. PB2 peanut butter powder or Ezekiel bread). It's never crowded at this location and when I come with my mom, we're in an out in less than 20 minutes if we come in knowing what we need to buy. I like that they have self check out as well. We usually do that and have our own bags. Overall experience is pretty good. It's our routine to come by here to pick up a few items after church on Sunday. They also serve complimentary coffee in the morning which is a huge plus! read more

I have shopped here since July 1980 and seldom ever go to 32ND commissary. It is close to my house so I save GAS by not having to drive to 32ND about 15 miles one way. However since May 2020 they no loner have baggers. I was told that the NEW Commanding Officer Naval Base Coronado got rid of the baggers because some Lady COMPLAINED that the baggers were outside smoking and talking. Yes, I have seen that also, however it was because of lack of customers. I never saw anyone have to wait for a bagger. They may have, but I am sure it wasn't that long. I am told that the baggers don't get paid except for TIPS. Most likely, the LADY THAT COMPLAINED never gave a tip. I have always gave a tip\ and one XMAS I gave the young bagger a $50.00 Tip. I am now 77 and had a RIGHT KNEE REPLACEMENT and still have trouble walking. My wife and I struggle to bag our things and get them out to the car. I hear that 32nd still has its baggers. I wish this commissary opened earlier or stayed open later but I understand...budget cuts etc. etc. The short hours make it hard to shop there on weekdays if you have a full time job. But it is close and a lot less crowded than the other commissaries. Parking is never a problem and the lines aren't usually that bad. They have plenty of self-checkouts which helps if you are just picking up a few things. They do not carry Boars Head brand at the deli counter but other than that, they carry all the essentials.The center aisles have all their Value & Family pack items which saves me the trip to Costco for laundry soap, paper towels and other buy-in-bulk faves. If you call ahead, the meat department can prepare special cuts for pick up. I like to request pork or veal scallopine for cutlets instead of pounding out the meat myself. One quick tip, remember to bring your own cart from the parking lot as they don't have any inside. read more

My family have loved to shop at the stores of privilege, such as the Commissary, no matter where we have been stationed. This location, however, has horrible customer service from cashiers, baggers, and management. This location should be reported. They should work off base if they do not appreciate their job nor the patrons who shop at this location. read more

The commissary is good but inconsistent. Sometimes they have muffins sometimes not. Sometimes they have sandwiches pre-made, sometimes not. Both are great if you can get them. The other issue is the host to help with self checkout should really encourage people (over 70) with a cartful to use a regular checkout line not the self checkout line at lunch! read more

I love this commissary. It's easier to find things, the cashiers are excellent and they do not fuss when you present them with coupons. Everyday with the increasing prices of grocery items I thank god that I have this privilege. read more
