This was the absolute best brunch I've ever had. We collectively got the gluten-free French toast, a breakfast bowl, and their house-made gluten-free bagel, and it was divine. We also took home some baked goods. It's so hard to find gluten-free French toast and baked goods that are actually good, and these were UNBELIEVABLE. You would never guess they were gluten-free. The vibe was cute and laid back and the service incredible. Despite the fact that it was very busy, the food came out really quickly. I tried their farmer's sandwich and chose a jalapeño cheddar bagel. On it was sausage, bacon, egg, cream cheese and red onion, and it was awesome. The egg was perfect! They also have a young man who plays jazz piano there every Sunday, so the ambiance is pretty awesome along with the nice weather. Sometimes it can get windy so bring a sweater, but otherwise, it's usually a really nice day to hang out with friends and family. I also had a matcha ginger thyme latte with oat milk which was just tasty since ginger is a rare flavor in coffee drinks. I loved it, and it was so good that I took an extra one home. Millport has quickly become one of my favorite weekend spots. Knowing it's women-owned and rooted in such a personal story gives the place a heart you can actually feel the moment you walk in. Chef Alynn and Emmi have created something truly community-minded here with thoughtful food, a very welcoming vibe and a business model that supports other local entrepreneurs throughout the week. What an amazing spot! It's completely for the locals and, bonus, it's only a 5 minute drive (or so) to the beach. Important note: Millport is only open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and has outdoor seating under awnings out front on a patio of a converted house. They can get very busy on the weekends, so best to show early or an hour or two before closing. The menu is excellent, full of colorful, rustic dishes that feel both comforting and creative -- and ample. They also rotate the menu from time to time. They have avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, salads, veggie bowls and if you love pastries, everything is baked in-house, everything is gluten-free and everything I have ordered thus far tastes incredible. Cinnamon rolls, scones, cookies, tarts, etc. And I am not kidding that these are hearty meals. I ordered the Diner, which is absolutely stacked with protein, and wished I had been splitting it with another person. And so reasonably priced. You can get an amazing meal for less than $20. Once I had a lovely and filling breakfast for only $10. I also so appreciate the cute little market inside. It's stocked with local gifts, cards, sauces, stickers and other little finds that make the Millport feel even more connected to the community. It is certainly the kind of place where you want to linger, bring friends and keep coming back. And it feels that way. Every time I've gone, I have seen couples, groups of friends and small families. I understand that Alynn grew up in the tiny village of Millport and learned early on how food, family and self-reliance shapes a person. Millport was opened during a pandemic and named after her hometown. Today, Millport is more than just a café. It's a market and a gathering space. They also have events, including dinners in the back, festivals also planned holiday meals by the dozens of orders. Sometimes things can be right in front of you , Millport has been here for 5 years , I've driven by for 5 years busy in my own world until this morning. Contemplating going home after church and cooking breakfast I spot the lights on. I pull a Uturn, the place is pretty cool , a nipple menu of sandwiches and breakfast and lunch bowls. We opted for the Diner bowel , it has a large number of gold potato's seasoned to perfection , fluffy scrambled eggs and a huge sweet sausage patty and plump.bacon. Everything combined into a large bowl almost overflowing. My wife ordering the Eggy sandwich, it was a 4 egg she reduced it to a two egg. She says was delicious . We then finished off trying a great strawberry scone. If you're local or a tourist you've now got my seal of approval, lots of tables , a live piano player on the patio. Quaint little place that you will miss if you are looking with a keen eye. It looks like a house and we passed it twice. The owners are two women who looked like they were working their butts off and it shows in the food. The cook came out and delivered the food in person and I had never seen my son eyes blow up like that. He got the banana pancakes and I got the Diner. Both were so much food and tasty! It's a bit of a drive to IB from La Mesa, and sometimes a bit of a wait after ordering, but Emmi and Alynn create food and pastries that are worth waiting for! Located in an unassuming blue house, you order at the counter and then grab a seat outside. Emmi is usually greeting you, taking orders, making coffees, and running food to tables while Alynn is cooking just behind her. Oh, and all those gorgeous pastries up on the bar, made in house by Emmi and always spectacular. Because it's such a small team, sometimes literally just Emmi and Alynn, there can be a wait for your order. It's never been an issue for me but something to be mindful of if you're short on time. The menu changes frequently and there's always seasonal specials. Also, there are classes and special dinners that are held in their back dining room throughout the year. Quaint little cafe hidden among the houses in Imperial Beach. At first glance, it looked like a house with a really cool front patio, then I looked up the name and discovered it was a cafe. I had been eager to try it and suggested it this morning for breakfast. Although it is small, my husband and I had no trouble parking. While I thought it was a restaurant, it's more of a quick service cafe, which is great! We ordered inside, great customer service, and sat outside on the patio. Drinks came out first, my husband got a coffee and I got a cappuccino, both were tasty! For breakfast, I got the Diner Breakfast bowl and my husband had the Reuben Bagel. He loved his bagel and it was pretty sizable. My bowl was good and filling, just wished the potatoes had a bit more seasoning, but other than that was really tasty. First off, so easy to be gluten free here. From the breakfast choices to the pastries, so many options. My breakfast companion and I both got the protein bowls with chicken sausage, fried eggs, Swiss chard, peas and carrots. The best part is none of it was salty. I despise an overstated sausage. This had plenty of flavor without over salting. The veggies were crisp tender. The yolk was perfectly runny. Perfect avocado and yummy cotija cheese on top. Next time, I must try some of those rosemary potatoes The pastries were out of this world. If you get the chance to try the chocolate babka or the cardamom almond Bundt cake, do it. Exceptional. So we came all the way from LA to visit the area. Expected the restaurant to be open as usual on Sunday. Since they are closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.. This restaurant used to be a house and were were seated on the porch. Their pastries and presentation of all the food is so pretty! We shared the avocado toast, This Little Piggy, Chef's Funky Wedge, and a variety of pastries. I chose the strawberry mint and bubbles to drink, while my friend opted for the creme brulee latte. Our drinks came in a mason jar and mine was very refreshing. I tried her latte and it wasn't too sweet, which was great for us. This Little Piggy came with lots of meat and was very hearty. It was flavorful and the potatoes it came with were perfectly cooked. The salad was basically a wedge topped with bacon, red onions, etc. It was kind of hard to eat haha. I got the veggie bowl with fried egg and it contained all sorts of ingredients that I'd never expect together, but it was incredible. My wife had the pulled pork and waffles which she loved. Portions are quite large, and quality is very high, so I'd say value is best in the area. Millport has limited hours and is run entirely by a couple, so if you're looking to slow the pace of life down and appreciate the passion that they clearly put into the food, I'd definitely recommend it. read more

Of my party of 3, I was the only one who cared for this place. We were looking for an American breakfast place to eat before the Padres game and found this neighborhood spot. It looks like it used to be a house and you eat on the porch. This is an order at the counter type of place, and it felt awkward standing there and not being greeted. We were looking at their menu while waiting for my partner to park the car, but no one said good morning or offered help if we had questions. Their display of baked goods looked delightful, and I'm sorry I didn't order one. Pancakes - my partner expected more raspberry. It's not shown in the picture, but there were fresh raspberries on the other side of the butter mound. Avocado sandwich - as a vegetarian, it looked weak to me too.. it looked dry with not enough balsamic. Although I didn't taste it, my cousin only ate half of it. Spicy Vegan bowl - made with crumbled tofu and a lot of potato, the curry sauce tasted good. Wished there was more avocado and it was mostly potato, but it was a nice breakfast option. The sandwich bread was huge and mayo was squirted on top, almost as though an afterthought. There's outdoor seating and the service is very friendly. They make their own pastries and my friend was quite impressed with their apple cider donut hole things? They were good, no joke. The breakfast bowls though.... they were really filling. You get so much food with it! I'm a pretty big eater and this was a challenge for me. Worth the money, but definitely ask for a take out box cause finishing all that in one sitting was a tough one. This place was great. A bit chilly when sitting outside and watch out for flies. We were looking for a good breakfast spot. I had read about this place on another app and was excited to try it out. As someone with Celiac disease, I cannot ingest any amount of gluten. Finding a place that is both safe AND delicious is extremely hard. This place not only met those criteria, but surpassed all of my hopes. The food was AMAZING! So good, that we came back two days later for another round. Quality is there and so is the quantity - the portions are quite substantial! Love the little touches like the fresh flowers on each table. The chef has mad skills!! Everyone is so welcoming and the place itself is super cute.
