Had a last minute idea for a cake for my surfer dad's 50th birthday. Emailed Sweet Revenge 4 days before I needed it done and they were very quick to respond and give me an estimate. Im so glad I went forward booking with them because the cake turned out perfect; exactly what we had envisioned. The little surfboards were so cute!! (We added the birthday sign ourselves) Thank you so much! Will definitely come back for future cakes/treats

I ordered a Valentine's Day cheesecake for my husband and I! The lady who emailed me back was so kind and accommodating and communicative. I picked it up and payed for it on pick up day. The cheesecake was a great size for price. I payed $35. The cheesecake was really good. But sadly, I wasn't a huge fan of the frosting that was on top and the fruit was sitting on, it was a little too sweet for my tasting. I think I would have preferred a whipped cream or something light! Other than that, really great experience ordering at a bakery for the first time!!

Ordered my birthday cake here and I was in love. Not only was the cake so good, it also looked beautiful - perfect to share with a small party. I love the creativity and customization options that they offer and would absolutely come back here to order again. I ordered through IG message and they were fairly responsive. I showed them inspo pics based on what I saw on their IG, but the result was so much better than I imagined. I got so many compliments about both the aesthetic and the taste of the cake as well. Pricing: I thought it was very reasonable given the custom order and size of the cake! Parking: The bakery is located in a plaza so there is a shared free lot with the other businesses nearby.

I am making this review almost a year later!! Absolutely a 10/10. I gave them two examples one for the style of cake and other for referencing the colors, they combined both reference photos perfectly and created exactly what I wanted for my best friends 23 birthday. The woman that handed off the cake to be was very sweet and informative! I would absolutely recommend this bakery!

Had to update my review as I've gone 3 times in the last 4 weeks! Someone said this is the best bakery in the south bay. I have to say I agree with that and more. It's probably the best bakery in San Diego or more. I don't even remember the lemon cupcakes I mentioned before that I would always get(lol)...every single treat I've tried has been unbelievably delicious. My shock, everytime I taste something new hasn't gone away. I tried a crepe cake for the 1st time and couldn't stop eating it. My daughter finally tried the banana pudding, the best! My wife and mom cannot get over the strawberry shortcake. These gals need to make it on the list of best in US. Again, only negative thing I can say about them is the very limited hours. I'm always off by 230pm and consider myself lucky to be able to stop in during their weekday hours.

I cannot even begin to describe how amazing our cake turned out to be. I initially sent out an inquiry with some photos and Mariella immediately responded and helped me make some final adjustments. this cake was to celebrate my friend's mom's 75th milestone birthday and it had to be perfect and we were not disappointed. We wanted a simple but elegant cake with some floral designs. We already had our own cake toppers to complement the cake and everything fit so perfectly. We got the red velvet and omg everyone at the party couldn't stop talking about it. Best red velvet we ever had. Cake was so flavorful and super moist and the cream cheese frosting was delicious not overly sweet and just right! Sweet Revenge Bakery sits in an unassuming shopping center with a small store front but don't let that fool you. quality of their cake and workmanship is just impressive. highly recommend!

I had a Sweet Revenge cake at a birthday party and it was so good. Wanted to try them out again so I ordered my bff a mini semi-naked chocolate birthday cake. The frosting was a tad bit on the sweet side but over all the cake was really good. Cake was moist. Decor was simple but beautiful. FYI the cakes run big. The ordering process was easy. They responded right away, which i appreciate. I'll definitely order more cakes from Sweet Revenge. I heard the Neapolitan is bomb.

I am not local to the San Diego area but I found this bakery on Instagram and I was enamored with their simple and clean designs and their wide variety of flavors. I was selecting a cake design for my boyfriend's 30th birthday and their website was simple and easy to use. I liked that it displayed the starting prices and it was very transparent. The staff helped me pick the design and overall it was very affordable for both the cake and the cupcakes! The cake is actually huge although it may look smaller in this photo. I would definitely place more baking orders from them in the future.

Simply the best bakery in South Bay and I've had my fair share of sweets throughout San Diego County. Their treats are always the bomb and the cakes are amazing! I had my son's 2nd and 5th birthday cake made here and I've received so many compliments! Their crepe cakes are the best and she ALWAYS runs out so you'd better come early!! Come here for your baked goods. You will not be disappointed. You'll only be disappointed if you come too late and you don't get the goodies you want as she sells out fast!

This review is long overdue, I have ordered multiple cakes and most recently cupcakes and they always are impeccable. The cake is always cooked perfectly and after trying many different flavor combinations, I love them all! I do really love the chocolate and funfetti cake. The service is always amazing and Mariella is very sweet and responsive. 10/10 recommend! Oh, and they also have desserts in the fridge on certain days which are incredible too!

I've ordered from Sweet Revenge Bakery several times and have never been disappointed. The cakes are always beautifully designed and taste just as requested--moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The Strawberry Revenge is my favorite! This small bakery is clean, welcoming, and you can tell a lot of care goes into both the product and the service. Mariella is excellent at communicating and always makes sure everything is just right. I've ordered both cakes and cupcakes, and each time they've exceeded expectations. Ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday for six people. Smallest cake they make serves 12-14 they said. Sent them pictures of what I was looking for. Go to the website and choose they said. Hurry up they said. Decided on a cake. That'll be $90 they said. Fine, I said. Picked it up and it must've weighed at least 8 pounds. Not kidding either. After cutting into it I saw why. There was so much frosting and filling with three layers of cake. It was so heavy in fact that it couldn't even support its own weight. The four huge straws they used to keep it from falling apart were sticking out the top but they couldn't stop it from leaning to one side. For the cost, it's not worth it at all. Get a cake at Vons instead. read more

One word: yummy! My daughter introduced me to this place. I'm hooked. This bakery is located inside a small plaza. It's not a wall-to-wall overload of sweets and treats but I'm pretty sure it's just enough to know that there's a favorite (or two) for anyone that comes through their door. Please be proactive and call them. It is your responsibility as the customer to understand what they mean by their communication which is via email and not clear. Very unsympathetic. I'm here one day before my sons birthday party and will have to make a different decision. There was an email chain of around 14 messages and a misunderstanding that resulted in the wrong item being presented. I asked for her design which was presented as her design of a lizard and she took that to mean sprinkles. This should have been a call so that I understood. No sympathy about this toward me just backing up their miscommunication and a "do you want this or not" tone. read more

I forgot to post this earlier, but Sweet Revenge did a Master Class job for us! Mom was having her 90th Birthday Party, with 50+ people attending. Since she was born in the 1930's, we had an Art Deco theme, with purple, yellow/gold, and white as the color scheme. That was all I needed to say, and our friends at Sweet Revenge ran with it. They made a gorgeous two tiered masterpiece of purple buttercream with gold and white embellishments. The top layer was a Neapolitan cake, vanilla, and strawberry, with a cream cheese filling. The bottom layer was vanilla cake with cream cheese filling. What was even more special, I had requested a separate small cake for Mom to blow out the candle. Not only were they happy to accommodate, they made a mini version of the two tiered cake! Needless to say Mom ( and some of the other guests) was completely overwhelmed (Niagara Falls ). I was so busy serving everybody else, I barely got to taste it LOL. For anyone interested in a beautiful cake for your special occasion, go see the sweet people at Sweet Revenge! The very best bakery in SD! I absolutely love every cake they've made our family. I've tried a lot of various bakeries all over SD. For us it's a drive to get to Sweet Revenge but it's SOOOOO worth it! A lot of places make beautiful cakes but they don't taste great or they do taste great but look basic... No bakery has the creativity and talent that Sweet Revenge has! We have had there very delicious vanilla cake and just ordered a Neapolitan flavor. Wonderful bakery and Bakers! read more

If you're on here just trying to figure out if you should place an order, I want to tell you the answer is yes and don't hesitate to do it! I turned the big 3-0 this weekend and really wanted something unique to have as my sweet, I'm not a huge cake person so I was really excited to see that Sweet Revenge Bakery offers a "Cookie Cake," I had seen photos online and was seriously impressed by all the cakes Sweet Revenge has to offer. I sent an email for a quote and received a response within the same day, Mariella (the owner) messaged me back and we were able to set up my order all in one day! For two cookie cakes it totaled to $60, so $30 a piece, I would definitely suggest ordering at least 3 weeks before your event because they can get busy with so many orders, never want to leave these important details to the last minute. After 3 weeks, I finally go to pick up my order, I was in such awe at how beautiful it looked, fresh roses and french macaroons for decoration, Mariella you did such an amazing job. Mariella even gave me a complimentary cupcake as a birthday gift, since I had to wait until the next day to eat my cake, I knew that if it was as good as the cupcake than all my friends were in for a treat. My birthday took place at Karl Strauss Brewery, when my husband Bryan presented my "cake," everyone was in awe even the servers, it was just so picturesque and importantly delicious. The sweetness of the frosting was complimented with the tartness of the raspberries and the crumble of the cookie. Absolutely scrumptious, everyone has asked where I got it done and I'm just so excited to mention Sweet Revenge, I am definitely going to have to order more cakes from here especially with my gf's baby shower coming up! Thank you Mariella and your team for making such an amazing cake it was the center piece of my birthday celebration! read more

I ordered this cake a few months back. All they required for the order was a phone number! When I picked up the cake the service was amazing & they provided specific instructions on how to set the cake which was helpful. Personally I felt like the icing was too sweet & it was hard to cut through. But none of that mattered because it was so cute! I would order it again for a display for photos. The pricing was reasonable for the way the cake turned out! $35 per letter or number. read more

Sweet Revenge Bakery provided a cake for my baby shower and it was everything I hoped for and more! I selected the Neapolitan flavor with cream cheese filling and vanilla buttercream. I recently ordered a white, textured, buttercream frosted cake that was 8" round, and with 3 layers (2 layers of filling). It looked AMAZING! If you are wondering where to order your wedding cake from the answer is Sweet Revenge Bakery. I contacted a number of bakeries and sampled the cake of more than a few before stumbling on Sweet Revenge. When I reached out to inquire about flavors, availability, and pricing I received a prompt, polite reply. Unlike some other bakeries, which I felt were trying to rip me off because it was a wedding, Sweet Revenge gave us a very fair price (so fair that after our wedding I reached out to pay more). When I picked up the cake the day before my wedding I could not have been happier. They gave us exactly what we asked for (see the photos for proof) and the service was amazing. Now I'm not a big fan of chocolate cake but I said I'll just go along for the ride. The place is located in a shopping center so you may miss it if you are driving too fast. Yesterday I coordinated my little cousins baby shower. We used Sweet Revenge Bakery as the desserts and OMG ! 1. The desserts are so beautiful! I had so much compliments on how beautiful they did the cake and cupcakes 2. Not only is the presentation so beautifully done the cupcakes and cakes are so delicious!!! I also had the macaroons which were also amazing. They were probably the best desserts I ever had! 3. This is truly the best cake I ever had and it's not because it was my wedding cake but the salted caramel flavor... OMG -DIVINE! Even our picky people loved it! Their customer service was on point and would reply right away. I will definitely be going to them for now on and will be recommending them. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars was they don't deliver and I would have paid any price to get this done when I was going crazy on my wedding day! My husband had to shift his schedule around to pick up the cake to put it on the floor of the car to put it in the fridge until 4 pm to then go back home after the ceremony and transport it quickly to the restaurant where we had our dinner. This made him late since the restaurant doesn't hold on to cakes. If they delivered all of this going here and there could have been alleviated. This is easily the best experience I've had with a bakery.... and we are on opposite side of the country! I live in MD, and my best friend lives in CA, so finding a place to do something special for her 30th meant I was fully reliant on google. Not only did SRB respond right away, but was super friendly and accommodating. Price was right within my budget. I ordered the number cake and it was the most magical looking cake I've ever seen in my life (via video). To drink, I ordered the Yuzu Matcha Mimosa. It had a really vibrant green color that almost reminded me of green juice. I actually enjoyed it. The matcha flavor came through without getting lost. My friend wasn't the biggest fan because they thought it leaned a little too bitter, so I think this one depends on how much you already enjoy matcha. For my entree, I ordered the Duck and Waffles ($24), which comes with crispy duck confit, a waffle, passionfruit guava sauce, and chili crunch. This was easily the highlight of the meal. The duck was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just enough to let the meat shine. I also appreciated that the chili crunch actually had some heat instead of just being there for texture. The waffle was light and fluffy. I'm a sucker for sweet and savory combinations, so the powdered sugar paired with the rich duck was enough to win me over. The passionfruit guava sauce was the only part I wasn't completely sold on. It wasn't bad by any means. I just think it's one of those flavors that comes down to personal preference. This ended up being one of those meals that reminded me why I keep a running list of places I want to try. Great food. Great service. A fun happy hour that I accidentally stumbled into. My only wish is that parking in North Park was a little easier, but that's just part of the neighborhood. I'd definitely come back.

I watched the table carefully pick around this one lone barely sugared piece. Ngl, I like the ones at Disneyland better. Both me and a daughter ordered the Chunky Avocado Toast with a poached egg, we both felt that the toast was a little tough. Good avocado spread and the egg oozed well. I tried their house hot sauce with it but wasn't too impressed with it. I also ordered a side of the House Potatoes. These were awesome. Crisp outside but not over done , well seasoned. Totally recommend. Wife ordered the Mushroom Chazuke. Mix of seasonal mushrooms. She liked it a lot. Tastes some of the mushrooms. Earthy but not overbearingly so. The wild rice and poached egg made for a pretty good mix. Other daughter got the Curry Hamburg. She likes her curry, especially Japanese curry. While she did not get transported to Tokyo she did give it a thumbs up. This place is pretty busy and I was fairly impressed with the attentiveness of our waitress. Waters kept full which was handy as it was a bit hot and my car was a good walk away. Would like to visit again and try other menu items.

Thank you very much for my birthday cake today sweet revenge bakery. Last year when this place just open my husband ordered me a small 3leches cake and this year I decided to try something different and got myself the house flavor (vanilla with cream cheese and white frosting in a bigger size. I wanted something colorful and they did a pink cake with pretty flower pattern and rainbow sprinkles (loved the extra frosting). I will order my daughters cake next month in one of those flavors. We were there for their anniversary a couple of weeks ago and each of us got a free cupcake so our sweets last us through the weekend. read more

We were leaving auto zone on the same shopping center when we realized this bakery was there behind it. Very nice shop decorated with lots of cute stuff. My kiddos loved the brownies with chocolate chips and the nutella brownie cup cakes. I really enjoyed the tres leches cup and the carrot cup cake with pecans. What I loved the most was the cream cheese frosting so so light creamy and not at all sweet. I will be back to order my anniversary cake probably carrot cake with cream cheese. I went yesterday for a sliced of their cream brule cheesecake they posted on social media. It was so creamy and delicious. They toast the sugar at the moment so it was very fresh and crunchy, and it was a pretty good price too $4-5 dollars per slice for a generous size. I also bought some cupcakes, a brownie and tres leches. Loved the frosting on the cuopcakes, not too sweet very creamy and the brownie was nice and moist. Tres leches was topped with caramel sauce and it gave it a nice touch. Really enjoyed everything will be back soon for a birthday order. read more

We celebrated my daughters 5th birthday today. Her Sesame Street cake was perfect! the characters and chocolate wedges on top were adorable and delicious. the cake, frosting and filling were dreamy delicious! I highly recommend this bakery! The cake is a piece of art and it tastes wonderful! Rosie has a rare genetic disorder that makes her extra special. Her diagnosis of Trisomy 18 may of led to some prejudice in her medical care but don't they say they sweetest revenge is living your best life! well she is doing just that, while enjoying amazing cake! read more

The best bakery ever.. The customer service is the best. I ordered a Neapolitan cake. The flavor was the best ever each layer was so Delicious the Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry and the cream cheese frosting I wanted to eat in lump sum spoons. I just walk out of sweet revenge bakery a few minutes ago. The owner was about to close for the day and was nice enough to give me extra cupcakes for free. I order red velvet, salted caramel and carrot. The carrot cake was nice and moist. Te salte caramel was superb. I like that they use cream cheese frosting and not a lot of buttercream.
