This review is only based on coffee, not food. The iced chai latte was really delicious and I loved the type of ice they used. We ordered our drinks and were served only a few minutes later so the service is fast. They have some seating as well if you want to do work and they have a very wide snacks and bakery selection.

Common Grounds is relatively new to the New Haven scene as this formerly used to be a Blue State (I think). It was a nice day so my friends wanted to stop in and grab a treat. I was impressed by how clean the cafe was for a Saturday at 4pm. While I didn't get anything to eat, my friends enjoyed their treats and the service was pretty swift.

Coffee is always fresh. The women at the counter on the York Street site are always smiling and pleasant. Products are always tasty. The place gets crowded by college students so at times it's hard to find a seat. They have cute little log tables in front which add to the ambiance of the place.

I just happened to stumble upon this Common Grounds Coffee shop location while visiting Sol Bol next door. This location took over Blue State Coffee. They are open for business, but it seems as if they are still renovating the place to make it their own. They only had a paper sign on one of the windows. They had a variety of pastries, baked goods, coffees, and teas available. I stopped in and got a hot raspberry hibiscus tea; it was amazing. I have been insearch of this brand of raspberry hibiscus tea every since I tried it.

A short walk from the Yale campus, this is a great place to stop by for a quick chai latte or one of their sweet treats!

Great coffee, nice staff. I agree with other reviews, turn down the music! No way I'd sit inside

This was some good coffee!…read more This was our first stop off the train from NYC. We needed a pick me up and energy for that infamous food crawl we were about to get into. So thankful it was in the quiet and quaint neighborhood of New Haven. Such a beautiful area. Very close to all the spots I had bookmarked. Cool coffee shop I gotta say. Spacious and clean. Just the actual vibe alone was relaxing. This is one of those locations where you can actually come sit and not be bothered. Few people inside were working on their laptops, some were just conversing with their friends. The barista was super friendly and worked fast. One thing I noticed and was wowed on was they serve wine as well. I mean how cool is that. Felt like I was at France for a minute, where the cafes serve coffee, tea and qwasonts during the day, and cocktails at night. Very chill. Can't thank them enough for how clean the bathroom was as well. All in all great coffee and service.

Order a lavender honey latte to go. I didn't have to wait for it or anything so service was good…read morethere. But I couldn't find parking easily and the latte was just alright. Not a lot of favor and no sweet at all which I thought that was interesting. The server did over to add more honey but I opted out because I was in a rush. They seemed business though. A lot of people inside on a winter day doing work. Maybe try a coffee , but they're no Latte Pedaler, at least to me.
