She knows everything about the body -- how it moves, why certain muscles ache, etc. All I have to do is tell her, "I felt a pinch right here when I did that movement," and she always knows what muscle is affected and why, then she will have me adjust my posture or movement and voila! everything is in working order! I always have a great time during my workouts, both Marsha and Steve are so much fun and I can't say enough about how wonderful they are as instructors. I highly recommend Pushes and Pulls for Pilates novices and ol' pros alike. Before I forget, Marsha introduced me to Gyrotonic and it is AMAZING, albeit challenging at times, but it is so worth it.

Before I had spine surgery I was jogger and did yoga for years. One day my back went out and even after surgery I could do nothing. Then someone suggested Pilates. I researched and found Marsha at a studio in San Francisco. Martha's knowledge of anatomy and movement is incredible. She started me slow off at first with mat Pilates and then Cadillac, Reformer and Chair and finally introduced me to Gyrotonic. Adding Gyrotonic showed me that I could one day get back to yoga, which I've now been back doing about a year. She's patient and encouraging. She even wanted to look at MRI reports I had and asked questions of my physical therapist and physicians so she could properly guide me and get me back to an active physical life. I owe a lot to Marsha.

Even after 3 months off during the first year for illness and surgeries, I recently completed 100 workouts and received a prize and certificate. She gives lots of options if you have any problems and is happy to talk with you after class to give suggestions for modifications. I believe she is the instructor for the Silver Sneakers class as well which is for seniors or people with less mobility. I have tried yoga with Fenny and it's a good class but not really yoga in my opinion. She uses lots of different things like bands and hand weights and paper plates and stuff, I feel like her class would be a great fit for someone who is just looking for a light guided exercise class. I have yet to try the other yoga classes, because they're really early in the morning, but I'll make it one of these days! Jake the manager is very amiable and helpful if you have any questions, keep in mind they are only staffed during the day though. I do really enjoy that it's 24hrs, because I like to go when no one is there so I can try things out that I'm not the most confident with yet. My only complaint is that I wish that it was a little more clean at this location. The women's locker room especially, often you'll see cobwebs hanging and greasy fingerprints all over the lockers. Nothing super gross, just needs a little more attention I think. Overall this is a very decent, affordable gym with a good variety of equipment and classes!

However, when I actually need assistance from the manager (Elisa?), it has been frustrating. I have been trying to get in contact for over a month and have not received a response, despite multiple follow ups. Each time I contact the studio, they say they've made a note for the GM and that I should hear back soon, but nothing happens. Additionally, I want to mention that there's an employee who makes the studio environment feel uncomfortable. He often appears unprofessional and unhygienic, including having noticeable bad breath, and I frequently see him vaping outside the studio entrance. He does not represent this studio very well. I think the studio itself has a lot of potential and great employees, but communication from management and maintaining a professional environment are areas that really need improvement.

Membership Pros: a…read morelot of equipment and space to workout! Cons: these jokers are scammers! I had the Qfit membership but realized I was not using all of the services. I also went to another location downtown Salem,which was horrible facility wise (see previous review with pictures). So, I decided to downgrade my membership to the basic. Do you know these jokers said that I had to pay $10 per membership to downgrade? So essentially I would pay $20 to downgrade to basic from the QFit (i.e., $10 for premium and $10 for basic). I ended up cancelling and going beck to planet fitness. These jokers also charged my card when I cancelled without telling me or notifying me for the reason. I checked the my cancellation document and the contract and didnt see anything about the extra money they charged. Not happy with their service. I have attached the contracts, which has nothing about being charged extra money for downgrading memberships other than annual membership fee.
