As a first time cat mom I was thoroughly vetted. The adoption process included an application, phone and virtual interview. A time was arranged to meet our kitty. He had been getting fostered after found on the street with siblings I believe. The space where some kitties are kept is on the smaller side. prior to entering the facility, you must wash hands and place covers over your shoes, prior to entering the area where kitties are kept, to protect kitties from any outside germs that could make them sick. We had opportunity to go in the large kennel to sit on stool with our kitty of interest. The adorable kitty immediately took to my young adult son. We also had opportunity to look around at other kitties. Lynn appeared very knowledgeable about all of the cats that we encountered. After spending quite a bit of time, we paid the adoption fee. The fee seemed a little on the expensive side but again I have limited knowledge and experience with this stuff. However Our kitty had all needed vaccines, microchipped and fed well (as I found out later when I needed to purchase the same food he was eating to make the transition easier for him)). He was on a grain free diet and also ate raw freeze dried proteins. She assisted with getting him in the carrier and into my car. She even provided a clean fabric to put in the carrier with him to help him feel safe! Post adoption I had so many questions and Lynn was patient and thoroughly answered my questions so that I felt comfortable. I remembered her saying besides finding loving forever homes, education is just as important for the cat parents and I could reach out as much as needed as long as I needed. I have shared photos over the last few months with her. I have had him since Feb 2025 when he was 8 mos and he just turned one in June. For a first time cat mom, this was the best place for me to help me feel secure with caring for my kitty! I still can't cut his nails- HE ABSOLUTELY REFUSES! I just pay for someone to do it! First of all I tried to inquired to adopt a cat, the first email went ok but the second one went terrible. All I did was ask about the adoption fee, I was worried about how much the adoption fee was. All I mentioned was my family and I are a little poor money-wise. They said to me "cats require daily food and care, perhaps this is not the best decision at this time." Like, wow! Don't be an absolute jerk about it! I do not recommend inquiring from here. I would put zero stars if I could. From the very first moment I met the team at a Kahoots adoption event, it was clear that everything they do revolves around the well-being of their cats. I hadn't intended to adopt that day -- in fact, I was just browsing -- but the experience was so warm, welcoming, and pressure-free that I ended up staying far longer than planned (along with another interested family). The volunteers were incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all my questions, even as it got late. What really sets this group apart is their deep, personal knowledge of every single cat in their care -- they know the history, personality, and special quirks of each one. The cats are not just "in the system"; they are truly known, loved, and cared for. The den where they reside is clean, calm, and full of affection, thanks to the amazing volunteers who visit daily to feed, play, and provide companionship. She responded quickly to emails and texts, handled all of the paperwork with ease, and made sure our cat was fully vetted, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for a smooth transition into our home. This Community Cat Foundation is a scam and they screw you over! We adopted a kitten fir $350 (that wasnt even a young kitten, they lied about her age) and 2 weeks after adopting her myself , my home and my other 2 cats now all have ringworm! Which is a nightmare to get rid of. I reached out to them asking for help and our adoption fee back to offset all of our expenses to handle this, as we have spent 5X that so far to get rid of this, and aren't done yet. We do not wish to return our sweet baby that we adopted, we are keeping her. Its not her fault these people were/are negligent. They refuse to return any funds or help at all. Quoting all is final. What a disgrace!! I would not recommend anyone trust this adoption agency. read more

The application process was very through, the most through I've completed when adopting a pet. I appreciate this because I believe it ensure these baby's are going to good homes. I could tell everyone had a genuine love and connection to the cats. I almost left as the cat I was there to see was not a match but I am extremely thankful the volunteers offered to show me around to the other more affectionate/outgoing kitties. She was fraile when CCF rescued her and they treated her and gave her the opportunity for a better life. I'm forever grateful to them for matching me with my best friend. I went to this foundation not knowing that I have to set an appointment (yes, my mistake). When I arrived, the gates were closed so I called to make sure I have the right building. Someone answered and gave me a litany of words telling me that they are not a shelter, they don't let just anybody in, and they protect their cats' privacy. Sure, I get it. But I have well meaning intention of adopting a cat, I don't think it's necessary to be condescending. All I need to know is that you don't accept walk-ins, and I need to make an appointment through an app. read more

Do NOT believe the bad reviews. I have worked a lot with this rescue, as I had many feral cats in my yard. They provide TNR services, as well as run a rescue. They take amazing care of the animals in their care, and truly care about what they are doing. One of the cats I trapped was heavily pregnant, so they had us foster her while they arranged the space for her and the kittens, and took them all in. When we trapped outside the neighbors house(the source of our local feral colony), she was able to keep the three kittens we caught off the street after their neutering , socialize them (and that takes time and dedication!), and get them furrever homes. They ARE appointment ONLY, but you will not be disappointed. read more

First off, we ended up adopting the sweetest cat. The process was quick. They were able to get us to meet him the day after we filled out the interest forms. After we brought our cat home, I had a ton of questions. I needed advice about his eyes, training, and him hiding. Lynn, who works at CCF, never hesitated to send me paragraphs of texts to help me. She was so supportive and informative. I've never witnessed such kindness from the heroes that work at CCF. 10/10 recommend. read more

A volunteer from this organization was at my curb feeding the strays on my street. I asked her not to feed them. She explained that the goal is to capture and spade the cats. My name is Tess. I am a single mom of two boys and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser for 21 years. I state the above to validate what happened at The Community Cat Foundation. I was gifted two cats but the giftee did not know they were both pregnant. Being very busy, I could not take care of the kittens to the extent they need. I researched and found The Community Cat Foundation, specifically Lynne Mulhern (Founder, took them in with the agreement the mothers will be returned to us once the kittens were warned. She became very protective of the moms and kittens. I provided food and litter (over a $1000 worth and have receipts) a blink camera to watch the kittens, and had the vet appointments with deposits made for their spaying once kittens were weaned. Lynne displaced them away from the Abbey to her home and then she stated she has fallen in love with our cats (Mother's) and she is going to keep them. I have pages and pages of texts showing the gross misconduct she exhibited with the car of our cats and the kittens. This is a concerning non-profit. I have filed a police report, notified petfinders.org, notified the state AG's office of this illegal activity of a new non profit (Tax ID number is 86-3460209) Please do not support this non profit. read more

I'm really glad I didn't read these reviews before getting my new kitten here. Yes, you do need an appointment which I also didn't know and had a similar experience to the previous reviews but Lynn is actually an extremely caring individual. After I filled out the paperwork and went in to meet the cats up for adoption she walked me around and knew every detail about every cat there (and there is a lot) she took the time to talk to me about all of them I was curious about and let me stay until I found, or rather was chosen, by the perfect kitty. They take amazing care of their fur babies and tell you everything you need to know to keep your cats happy and healthy for the rest of their long lives. She is always available when I have any questions post-adoption and I have really had the best possible experience with her and the foundation. read more

Animal rescue is a passion that comes with endless challenges. I have witnessed this rescue consistently rise to every challenge and save the most vulnerable animals from life-threatening situations and environments for the past several years. There aren't enough rescues to solve the over population problem but Community Cat Foundation goes above and beyond. I called today for help with a cat that I have found doing TNR and the cat was too sweet and far too skinny to be released back outside safely. The lady I spoke to was very sweet, and was very willing to help me. She explained how overwhelmed the rescue is, which I understand because it is kitten season and all the rescues and shelters are far past capacity right now due to MANY irresponsible people not fixing their pets and/or abandoning them, letting their cats outside, etc. Even though she could not take in this cat, she was eager to help me advertise her and directed me to other rescues to check with. I've been in rescue before and now just do TNR as I live in a studio apartment, and I can tell you these rescues have every right to be protective over the animals they spend their hard earned money on to rescue and save. This rescue cares deeply and I know from being in rescue, you become overwhelmed and bitter at the amount of people who profit off of breeding and selling kittens while you have to spend money cleaning up the mess and saving these animals from pretty traumatic situations. I will be keeping in touch with this rescue and perhaps even volunteer with them once I have more time as I am very pleased with the lady I spoke to and can really feel how much she cares for these animals. read more
