I went to this establishment to purchase a bunk bed set for my twin boys. I was told there was a possibility for delivery on Tuesday cause it was only three scheduled deliveries. So the delivery didn't come I chalked it up and said it would be delivered Wednesday got a call from the friendly young lady at desk saying they would be there in five mins I rush home thirty mins later I get a call saying the driver was on his way to my house and collapsed in the parking lot. I drove up there cause I live two mins away walk in and there is the driver sitting in the chair drunk as a skunk. Mind you this guy was suppose to assemble my kids bunk bed. read more

I've never contacted a company that has been so hard to work with. I found a side table. I called the provided phone number. The woman who answered rushed me off the phone, "I'm with customers and will call you right back" she said. Two hours later I sent a text and the "madness" began. All I wanted to know was how much, cost, item and shipping. They sent me a link to a shipper. I asked them again for a final cost and was told, and I have the text for anyone thinking of buying from this idiotic company, that I should go elsewhere. Whoever I texted with is an idiot. My husband and I have been waiting for furniture from a very popular company for over two months and just heard it could take another two months. We came across Community Furnishings and checked out their website to which showed almost exactly the same sectional so we visited their showroom, made the purchase, and had it delivered the same day! We couldn't say enough about not only how easy the entire purchase was, but the customer service everyone exuded was way above any expectations I initially had. They are unreliable, not dependable and not courteous enough to call when they aren't going to show up to pick up donated furniture. I made arrangements for them to pick up a couch I am donating. No call, no show so I called to see when they would come. "We had a rush delivery to Chicago & can't make it". So I arrange for them to come two days later. Again they are a no call, no show. So I called the store to inquire when I can expect them. "We had a rush delivery to Chicago & can't make it". Really? Twice? So I made arrangements for them to come the next day (today). They assure me they will be here between 4 & 6. Guess what? NO CALL, NO SHOW THREE TIMES IN A ROW. I would have given a lower score but unfortunately a score of zero isn't possible. read more

I like this place. Love the charitable cause. Workers are very nice. However, I purchased a recliner there. It was really nice looking. Spotless. Based on the website and reviews I was under the impression that furniture was cleaned before selling. My 1 year old grandson came to visit. Crawling on grandma on her chair. My daughter sat in it. She liked it. The next morning both had red bumps all over. Itchy red bumps.......off to the Dr........SCABIES. My house is spotless. Vacuumed and cleaned daily. I am ill as the Dr explained mites will not feed on my blood. This was the beginning of a nightmare. My whole house had to be scrubbed. Every crevice, every crack, every carpet, every piece of furniture. It was treated and bagged. Clothes from every closet. All bedding, towels, everything in drawers. It was awful, not to mention expensive. So beware. Clean it before you put it in your home. Don't make my mistake. read more

They're pretty overpriced on a lot of stuff. I have bought about 3 items from them, and on one I waited the 2 months so it was cheaper. (price is firm for 2 months, then drops 40%). I like that they use the "Offer up" app so I can see what's there without going to the store and they do make an effort to repair items...like touching up stain etc. (which is more than most resale shops will do). That being said, once in the store, the teens I assume are volunteers will say nothing to you at all, so you wait and wait and wait for service. Some items are almost $1000 and they aren't worth it! They sold a $95 "ancient papyrus" art piece the other day, You can get these freshly painted on real papyrus direct from Egypt on Ebay for $10-20. I would not recommend people go here without knowing what they are buying. I follow their inventory regularly and they are greedy in the beginning. I've seen a large drafting table they marked up way too high only to give it away in one of their warehouse sales for $5 (when they pull all the junk out to the parking lot and everything is either free, $5, or $10 to get rid of it). Can't say much about their repainting services. I have never done it, some items on their facebook page look very nice, but some video footage I have seen on facebook makes me think they take shortcuts (meaning the paint will chip off sooner rather than later). But that one is my opinion. I'm sure the refinishing charge isn't cheap. A better bet is "New 2 You" in Lansing, IL. They also hold 50% off furniture sales from time to time. read more
