I am so very happy with the service I received from Community Labor Partnership. To be honest because the service was so cheap I was VERY skeptical at first and didn't think my laborers were going to even show up, but I was wrong! They were both a few minutes early and very eager to work! I had them bringing my heavy furniture items upstairs to my new apartment and I had a two hour time limit but they were SO fast and were able to move ALL of the items I had requested and a few other heavy items too as a favor in less then 40 minutes!! In general, these two men were great. Friendly, hardworking, strong, efficient. A few notes: one of them was so gung-ho that he hit an overhead metal bar 3 or 4 times with furniture he was carrying...He also didn't wait for his partner, but lifted and carried very heavy or cumbersome things - like couches and large-screen TVs! - on his own, and in 95-degree heat, without a break. We were concerned for his welfare, and may need some coaching about working as a team. The administrative folks were very communicative, flexible, and supportive. I had an overall good experience. The people who organized were thorough. I scheduled some movers to help me unload a truck. They were both about 40 minutes late, which really freaked me out. However, I got a call from the operator telling me the movers they scheduled had to be changed. This was a hard way to start out, but then when the new movers showed up, they were fantastic. Furious.... They were 15 minutes late and tried to leave 30 minutes early. Did not complete the job. They left my paint sprayer covered in paint, it dried, now I have to hope I can clean it and it works. (Potential $300 loss) Used several of my paint rollers, handles, and trays in a plastic tote fill of water. ($40 loss) Did a piss poor job on pavers that I asked them to put in. Now I have to re do that or hire someone (possible $500 loss) Wasted $350 hiring people who were supposed to be assigned to the project based on their skill set and work experience... Instead I'm out $350-+$1,000 and have to redo and fix their work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR PAINTING OR LANDSCAPING. read more

Needed help moving my 1 bedroom apartment down three flights of stairs. I also did not want to deal with the hassle of worrying if someone would show up on time or work hard. CLP charged me a $50 deposit (to their company) and then I paid the worker $50 cash for 0-2 hours of moving help. David showed up about 40 minutes early but it ended up working out really well and we got to work right away. He was a huuuuge help, carried all the heavy boxes down for me and was careful with my furniture. He even helped rearrange the UHaul so items wouldn't fall when I drove. I think the price is a bit steep, especially since I ended up only needing an hour of help, but I was in a bind and CLP made this one of my smoothest moves yet! read more

Terrible rip off . Paid a deposit up front , told was confirmed in an email immediately that service would be provided to help with 2 laborers for a 2 hour job . Workers didn't show up . Called and they said they had no one available . Said a manager would call me within 24 hours . Someone did and said they would refund the deposit . Found out from my bank they actually charged the deposit twice so had to dispute it . Don't waste your time with this company it will let you down and cause you further headaches . Do not hire! I called them yesterday to set up a 9:00 a.m. appointment for today. At 9:15 the movers were not here so I called the company to ask what was going on, and was told that they will not be coming. I then asked, why they didn't call me and let me know, and they couldn't answer the question all they said was apologies. When a manager called me back, she explained to me that they don't screen the people they hire, it's just anyone who has a vehicle and wants to work, and that the two people that were supposed to help me, have done this before. This company left me high and dry. My mother is elderly and I'm unable to lift heavy things because of a medical condition. We had to unload our own moving truck when no one called or showed up for our scheduled time, otherwise I would have been paid an additional fine from the truck rental company I used. They did not help me at all, didn't return phone calls about the status of the assistance they were supposed to provide, didn't care about additional fees I would be incurring because they did not show up, or the fact that my mother and I would have to do this heavy lifting, and they still have my security deposit. Decent price with great guys that went above and beyond. However, my door ended up damaged - scratched pretty bad from the dolley. I contacted the company and they said there's nothing they can do because these guys are contractors. I asked about them advertising they were insured. Yes, they said, but it's for the company, not the guys who are contractors. I went around and around with them and then decided to chock it up as a loss. A MONTH later they call me to ask how much to repair the door, that they'll refund my deposit based on the amount and fire the guys. Um, what? You want me to take responsibility for 6 guys not being able to feed their families because you don't take the time to train your people or responsibility for when something goes wrong but have no problem advertising it like you back up your people to customers? Yeah, no. Keep your money and I hope you don't destroy these guys' lives because you choose to make it look like your company is on the up and up. I feel bad for your contractors and hope you as a company learn to care for the people doing the work that earns you the money. read more

I made arrangements well in advance for two workers to help load boxes for two hours in one location and then a second request for two to unload at a second location. Everything was confirmed on both ends. Only one person showed up at the first site and no one showed up at the second. No explanations, no help, no advance notice. Save yourself the trouble. I hired this company and they sent out a contractor to mount my tv to the wall, after reviewing the mount he said it might not fit, therefore, we discussed me giving him some of the cash (I was willing to spend upfront). The worker left with the money and NEVER returned. I called the company and they advised that they could not get a hold of the contractor either and that I should have waited to pay him after completing the job, how so if I needed a piece he told me would not work? Called this company and asked to have 2 people help me at a third party location where I had purchased some furniture that needed to be loaded on to a moving truck. Called two days in advance and was told they had local people they would send. they were to meet me at the agreed location at 11am. Morning of, liaison called at 9:30 and asked me if I could meet right then, as one of the workers was having issues making it at 11. I said no. that I was on the road and the location was over an hour away, so it would have to be at the scheduled time. I was told no problem and call ended. I arrived at the location, and at 11:30 received a text message that said "just found a backup worker he is on his way, but is an hour away." I replied, "Seriously? there are 2 people, hopefully!" 11:54 am, I sent another message. "Are there two men coming?" reply received was "1 worker is on his way, the other one just confirmed. still getting his eta". I replied at 11:58 "So far, I have moved some of this myself. We may need to discuss some kind of discount since the workers are so late and I did not anticipate having to lift any of this myself." No response. 12:33, I messaged again "Are they almost here?" reply was "Workers msg - 19 miles away". 12:50 i sent yet another message "It's 12:50 now. I hope I am not expected to pay them when they finally show up." 1:00 pm i received a reply "1 worker has arrived, and the other one cancelled because his car overheated while driving. The manage will call you for a resolution." I then went out and found two young men in a car saying they were there to help. it took them an hour to move 3 pieces of furniture, and get them onto the truck and "secured" though I did almost all of the securing myself since they had zero clue how to secure items in a moving truck, obviously. I paid them the $100 as i was contracted to do so. I still have not heard from a manager to discuss reimbursement. Yet, I did get a request to give them a review, so here it is! I used this company in Los Angeles,CA on 2/22/22. They arrived on time and started to work . One of the movers was pretty knowledgeable and trained. The other had no idea what to do , was carrying 1 pillow at a time didn't know how to do anything . I had to carry the couch and desk up as one of the movers couldn't physically do it . After the move I paid them more than the agreed amount by the company . I was then followed down the busy street in their car screaming at me to give them more money. They pulled up next to me honking in the middle of traffic stopping their car in front of me screaming at me to give them more money . I refused and got around them . They continued following me for 5 miles recklessly swerving at me, hooking and screaming. I had my pregnant girl in the car so i began to get very nervous. We were stopped at the light when I finally paid them more money to get rid of them. This was highly dangerous and outrageous. read more
