We all know that hiring from websites like Craigslist can be a 50/50 shot. After calling more than several moving assistant companies with no availability. I called Community Labors. The website identified exactly what it represented and what my expectations should be. And that's exactly what Community Labors delivered. The sign up process was easy. No hidden fees. I was told what time to expect Deron. Deron showed up 15mins early. I received a phone call from Norman stating the helper had arrived. Which I greatly appreciate. Deron asked how I wanted the moving of items to go. He followed my instructions. And immediately proceeded working. He worked from beginning to the end. The shift was scheduled for 5 hours. This company offered a variety of options for your moving experience. Which I liked. They were able to accommodate a late start time. None of my items were broken or damaged. Deron never complained about the process of moving boxes from the 3rd floor to a parking lot. He had a great attitude and deposition about working. I felt comfortable and safe in his presence. Deron was also kind to my sons and dog. He was never disrespectful. I could not be more pleased with Community Labors and Deron. I would 100% hire again. As a worker for Community Labor Partnership, this being my 5th job, I'm beyond thankful for the near daily opportunities given, which give me the ability to work towards uplifting myself back into a favorable environment and situation. The jobs also give me an opportunity daily to be able to leave town for however long the jobs is, allowing me some much needed alone time on the road, seeing, passing and sometimes even stopping at places I've not only never been, but some I've never even heard of, like today for example, and the job in 'Cool', CA . DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!! They will not pay for damages. I hired them to do 5 hours of yard work. I gave them a $78.35 deposit and was told to give the worker $100.00 cash upon completion. I was sent a receipt and the scope of work but no condition of service except for cancelations. The laborer showed up and worked very hard for 4.5 hours. At the end he was weed whacking the last side yard when a rock went into one side of my sliding glass door and it shattered because of the tempered safety glass. The laborer took pictures and sent an incident report to the company and he was told a manager would call me on Monday. I paid the laborer $120.00 because he did a great job. After I put in a couple phone calls someone called me back Monday afternoon. I was told they were not responsible and I should read the terms and conditions listed in the client agreement. I was never sent an agreement to sign or review! I still don't know where to find one. The company rep then hung up on me. When I tried to call back, I was blocked. I got an email 20 minutes later saying they refunded my $78.35 deposit. The replacement window cost me $378.17 so I am out $294.82 I will be putting this review on as many sites as I can to warn people. read more

Found this group through craigslist to hire as labor for a move. Found the cost to be slightly inexpensive compared to private movers offering services. I really enjoyed the idea that I would be also using a service that is associated with helping people in my community get part-time work. I hired 3 movers for 2 hours of work, however for some reason a fourth worker showed up, which was fine but I had to run out and get additional cash to pay this person. My only issue was that not everyone arrived at the same time, so I had to run the job over each time someone arrived. I also had to call and text the CLP manager to confirm the process of payment, which you would divide up the remaining balance (plus tip) to pay each worker. Everyone was fast and friendly, maybe a little too fast, they ended up finishing before the 2-hour limit, but I felt like the organization of items in the moving truck could have been done a little better, I ended up having to reorganize the items later that evening on my better. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to use CLP again for any future needs. read more

We had booked 2 guys to help uus load up a moving truck a month ago. Guy #1 showed up on time, guy #2 right after him. While guy #2 was asking to see everything we were loading into the truck to get an idea of fit, guy #1 soon thereafter asked me if "do you really me? Because I have a lot on my mind and a lot to do taking care of my animals and so forth." I responded "yes, I definitely need you", after all why would I ask for 2 guys to then only use 1? While guy #2 and I walked down the driveway discussing the scope of work, guy #1 turned around and went back to his vehicle and rapidly drove away. I had to call Community Labor Partnership to get guy #1 replaced. That was easy enough and the replacement stayed the entire time getting things done along with guy #2. These guys worked super hard and were tipped well. The job was completed and we fed them. I told Community Labor Partnership to have the guys bring their own food but that apparently was not conveyed. In any case, it all worked out in the end and I hope they don't bring that runaway boy back for any jobs, he's an embarrassment! read more

This program is simply fantastic! Setting up the date and time for the workers we needed to dig our drywell was quick and easy. Both Mark and Manuel showed up right on time and went right to work. Both men were cordial, but were focused on getting the job done. Our job included digging a 4' deep by 5' diameter hole, moving the dirt by wheelbarrow back by our barn about 150' feet, then moving a huge pile of rocks to fill the new hole about 100' from the hole. It was a difficult and tedious job. Manuel worked non-stop and worn his mask the entire time. Mark, who was older than Manuel, did a fine job too. This service is a god-send for older couples like my husband and I. Knowing we can depend on these workers to show up on time and work like the project was their own is appreciated more than we can say. Thank you Manuel and Mark and Community Labor Partnership!! Tried 2 moving jobs. First client flaked. Second time they over booked and I tried to speak up on the speakerphone belonging to one of the movers with nick to interject that I already spoke with the client and they said it was ok. But the mover accused me of yelling at him at got aggressive like he was fresh out of prison with his crappy sleeve tattoos and visible dip. No masks or gloves like they claimed. $15/HR for moving is low. I never make that little. This organization sucks. They aren't helping anybody. They are middlemaning, skimming, making lying claims, no accountability. I'd also like to point out that they only ask for a first name when screening movers of craigslist. Which is not what you want at all when you're inviting strangers into your house to move your stuff. Post a help wanted add in the gigs section on craigslist and get full names so you can screen people better. read more

SEXIST/DISCRIMINATORY practices!! I've actually been a local laborer who has completed jobs for Community Labor Partnerships, but this past weekend they lost a laborer due to sexist/discriminatory actions. After texting for 1.5 HOURS with their coordinator about a job, being assured 'the job is SEALED for you' and letting them know I was on my way...two minutes prior to my arrival I'm asked if I'm 'male or female'. And within 15 minutes of this text I am told 'client only needs 2 workers =( and guy 1 and guy 2 is already listed as his workers =('! WHAT?!?!? Guy 1 and Guy 2 showed up AFTER me, and at what point during the last 1.5 hours did I suddenly not have the job 'sealed for me'? Oh, AFTER you asked if I was male or female! And then CLP blames/claims their CLIENT requested 'male movers', but ONLY after I started asking questions of why I was taken off the job! read more

Reviewing as a worker, my car had broken down and I needed money quickly for the repair. I came across Community Labor Partners and they were the answer to my prayers. I was offered a job for the next day, close enough that I could arrive 15 minutes early, put in 8 hours and get paid at the end of my day. I was aid the same day, for the work I completed. The client was very nice lady who provided water and Gatorade and the tools need for the job. She had also used Community Labor Partnership before and she told me she was happy with the workers she has received through them. Hi my experience with the labor community partership was this i had finally gotten a job with a specific thing i was doing the same day happened i manifested it or not i was able to talk through with the dispatcher the job had gotten cancel because the pay was too high so i told her it was unfourtunate but luck prevaled and she was open to share that there was a job opening the next day so i had time to plan it out honestly she did not fill out the proper description of the job i had coming the next day and it happened to be something better. A weeks worth of a job instead so hopefully anyone can take into consideration that i am going farther and some from a lil bit of miscommunication from both parties twice otherwise having found this wouldve been an inconvience for all of our parts. Recently we needed to have everything taken out of our two car garage, moved out onto the drive way, organized and put back. we were making room for a new car. in order to do this , we had to move a Very heavy piece of marble that was lying across the opening, and move it up against the wall. By the way, the garage was packed all the way to the front with boxes of books, furniture, etc. we have fretted about this for over a year. OUTSTANDING and RELIABLE SERVICE!!!! This is my 2nd time using CLP and they offer quality and reliable service with the workers that they provide. I signed up to hire a worker for 2 hours and the prices are VERY reasonable. 1/2 of the payment was taken online (secured) with a credit card number and the rest was to be paid directly to the worker in cash, after the job was completed. CLP sent a text to confirm my laborer and provided his name and followed up with a phone call to make sure he arrived to do the job. Our laborer's name was Tim. He arrived EARLY, was a hard worker, followed direction easily, did not need supervision, and did an OUTSTANDING job!!! I requested one person to help move a stove into the garage thru the front door. In addition I wanted various items relocated from the guest bedroom to the garage and then items from the living room moved to the guestroom (gym equipment)! I wanted the Lanai vacuumed and the backyard garden tidied up ( some dead plants sixed/pots adjusted/potting soil brought in from the side of the house.). My sister and I were very stressed at having to move my mom out of her apartment in an assisted living community in two hours. I was late arriving with the borrowed truck. To my surprise, Kevin and his coworker (Julian?) showed up early and based on a phone description were able to sign in to the facility, show their vaccine cards, find the apartment, wrap and bring down most of the furniture/items all before I even showed up with the truck! I was blown away by their expertise, preparedness, professionalism and kindness. They got all the items packed, and loaded into a storage unit in under the two hours. Highly recommend as these guys do great work! I had them come out and perform landscaping work last week. They connected me with skilled and friendly workers who took care of everything I hoped they would. I was able to communicate effectively with them and address multiple things I needed to have done. I can vouch for their workers being pleasant and efficient, as well as well priced. Also, the workers had masks on the entire time and were respectful of social distancing as well. Contacting Community Resources was my best move yet, when I needed mover help. I had been in contact with another "mover" (very misleading ad on Craigslist and generally unpleasant guy to have a conversation with). When that deal fell through because he kept jacking up his prices along with his terrible attitude, I made a quick call to Community Resources. Best decision, right there. The two guys they sent out were ready, willing and able to haul my extra furniture in the 2 hours I had budgeted. Chris was extremely helpful, taking charge and getting it all handled.
