STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Do not hire. This is the worst and most unprofessional moving company I have come across. I made a reservation a month in advance to help me move from Oregon to Seattle and paid half the balance for loading/ unloading and 26' truck. On the day of move, no one showed up or contacted me to update that they did not have truck or movers available. Since I was in a dire need to move, I rented a U-haul truck and asked them to send me workers to help me load and unload. They finally sent 2 workers which they have never met or hired in the past. These workers left the job half done and took money from us saying that the company never pays them.To clarify things, I tried to contact the manager and the team but no response from them till now. I needed moving, and community labor partnership sent 2 workers who were on time, followed instructions and completed the job in less than the two hours that I had allotted. They were also polite and friendly. I have used community labor partnership workers with varying degrees of success: one time, a worker was really late and another time a worker seemed improperly informed about the length of the job; so if you decide to use the service, be aware that there could be mixed results. I would have rated them lower if this had been my only experience. My review follows the third time that I used their services in an area that does not have Taskrabbit. Mind you, the two they sent were not professional movers, and so didn't quite have the craft of packing the truck efficiently. But they also didn't break anything and asked questions when they didn't know what to do, unlike the moving service I used earlier. I'm giving community labor partnership four stars. Their communication is good and they work hard to keep their employees accountable. However, some of their workers could use a bit more training for simple tasks. A helpful and polite young guy showed up at the requested time the next day and hauled all my heavy boxes into my pod. He even rearranged it so that it fit in better. Service was good but I learned that the people answering the phone take their share up front and make more than the actual workers. On a $350 charge they took a $150 deposit and we were suppose to pay each worker half of the balance. So they get $100 for 5 hours work and the company gets $150 for answering the phone. Seem unfair to me but that's the world we live in now. read more

I scheduled CLP for a move from Cambridge to Somerville. We called that morning and they confirmed that there would 2 men and the box truck that I paid an extra $200 for. We need to be out of apt by 8pm and they were scheduled at 4pm. They did not show up. At 445pm I recieved a text saying "sorry, we cannot make it". And that someone would be calling me within 24 hours. Needless to say we were panicked as to how we were to move an entire apt by ourselfs with no truck but we got it done. I have yet to recieve a call. I have called and left messages everyday regarding a refund. It has been 7 days and not one person has returned my calls nor have a recieve a refund back. read more

The movers showed up a little late (not their fault) and the owner/manager? Brian kept in touch with me the whole time making sure the movers arrived and everything was going smoothly. The movers were so kind, careful, fast, and reliable. They knew exactly what they were doing, and it was actually a pleasant experience to move instead of a total pain in the a** like it usually is. They were also MUCH less expensive than other people/businesses who we spoke to from Craigslist. In the end, the move took less than 2 hours to move A LOT of stuff (way faster than we thought) and we were all having fun and laughing together the whole time. My mom gave the movers a great tip and sent them home with some cookies. I will definitely use this company again whenever I need assistance with a move or other similar job done. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I should have read the reviews first! I requested someone to help me unload our truck (moving to a new city). Minimum service would be 2 people for 2 hours. OK, fine. Did that. Then I drove 7 hours to my new home, but no one was there. The customer service people did call me to say that one guy had a family emergency but the other guy was on his way. But he never showed up. So, I had to unload everything by myself so we could have our mattress (back of the truck) inside the house so we could go to sleep! Called Community Labor Partnership because we were in a bind and needed 3 men to lift a very heavy vanity upstairs before the plumbers arrived the next day. We were told there was a crew available same day but it would be a 2 hour minimum charge at $50 per person per hour. Half was required as a down payment up front. We were able to have the men do other work needed if they completed getting the vanity upstairs and had extra time afterwards. No problem, we did that and we were put on the books. One man arrived early but the other two were not there yet. Unfortunately, since the unit is 353 pounds this was not a one man job so he had to wait, we really didn't have anything that could be done by one person alone or we would have done it ourselves. An hour and a half later after numerous reassurances via text that the other two men were on their way we were told that those men stopped responding and were no longer answering their phone. The gentleman that was at our house called the main number and had it on speakerphone asking if he would be compensated for his time to which he was told that his concerns would be sent to management and it would be their decision. So no guarantee. He left quite upset. So now we are left $154.79 (half plus the processing fee) in the hole, a very heavy vanity still not in the room we needed it in and we are being told that our "concerns will be forwarded to management and we should hear back within 24-48 hours" when we requested a refund of our money. Since no services were actually provided there should be no problem whatsoever refunding our money but apparently there is. We have yet to hear from said manager and although our numerous texts we received with apologies were received that did not solve our issue or give us the money back so we could hire more reliable laborers. There was no resolution to our issue. I would never recommend this company. I've already told a few people about the service or lack there of, and I would advise anyone thinking about it to steer clear. I filed a claim with my bank for our money back because we were not waiting for a manager who couldn't be bothered to talk to us the same day. read more

I order 2 hours service to replace door lock . shower faucet, overflow plate and tub spout. The worker took 50 minutes to replace a front door lock not the set. I asked him to work on the bathroom items. he seems not know what to do . I don't feel comfortable to continue, so ask him to stop. and hope the company will sent some one to finish the job. I called the company many times they refused to answer my calls. so the worker would leave unless I pay him the rest the balances which is $50. plus my $51.80 down payment. so basically I spent $101.58 to replace a door lock. What a scam!!! I confirmed YESTERDAY availability of resources beginning at 1:30 PM EST, today, and, then, Community Labor Partnership ("CLP" hereinafter) accepted my deposit confirming that resources were, indeed, available beginning at 1:30 PM EST today. And, now, within an hour of the start time, CLP's dispatcher -- out of CA -- texts me that CLP does NOT have confirmed resources and, worse, CLP is attempting to pull resources from five (5) hours away from my location -- in Asheville, NC. Let me recap: After not hearing from them, as promised, I called them and, then, the dispatcher TEXTED me back -- at 12:37 PM EST for a 1:30 PM EST appointment. This is absolutely ridiculous! And, and, and ... The dispatcher revised her latest text, adding that she was going to try and find me 'a' laborer, when my original order -- and for which I provided a deposit -- was for two (2) laborers. When the laborers, finally, arrived, it was just shy of 4:00 PM EST: That's 2.5 hours past the scheduled time, because -- In addition to only texting me back at 12:37 PM EST, I learn from these laborers they were not contacted by CLP, until 1:05 PM EST ... 28 minutes after CLP texted me!!! And, CLP pulled these poor guys from 70-80 miles away! (Apparently, in addition to all of CA's other problems, the use of maps is also discouraged, when conducting business 2,500 miles away from a home office. SMH.) In the interim, we just sucked it up and did the work ourselves, after CLP did not make good on their deposit-paid-up-front commitment. In the end, I, obviously, could not pay these guys for work that was not conducted, but I did give them $20 for fuel, because -- They received NO payment from CLP and, then, were told by CLP that the only payment they would receive would be from me. (And, they arrived at the job site with not much more than fumes in their gas tank.) I cannot believe that I coordinated with my family and, then, took off from my work in order to endure these absolutely horribly-managed and highly-unprofessional logistics -- and pics (attached) don't lie. But, engaging with these folks is one mistake I will not make, again. :/ read more

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A FRAUD. **** This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any company in my life. Firstly, just to validate my opinion, I am a physician and have no intention of embellishing. The company had confirmed with us weeks prior, then the morning of that the movers were ON THEIR WAY. We sit in the home for HOURS. Attempting to call the only number provided (would not give us the number to the "dispatcher" or the workers), they stopped answering our calls and BLOCKED our number so it would go straight to voicemail. We called from other phones and immediately the operator answered. She of course had no answers; but 4-5 hours after the scheduled time, says that they were held up at another job. Our appointment was for 9am. There was no earlier job. They tell us to wait longer and someone will come. We wait. Then about at 5pm the woman calls and says the workers won't make it. But we can reschedule for tomorrow. Obviously I'm skeptical but they say they will call us at 830am and confirm. NO phone call until 11am. Workers should have been there at 1030am. They say they couldn't get any workers as they are on another job. ALL LIES. Because I then ask for the manager and get a call back hours later. He says I'm so sorry, we couldn't find anyone to accept the offer and sorry for the inconvenience. They LIED repeatedly, BLOCKED our numbers, refused to answer. Waisted my time two days in a row. I was late to move out of my apartment, had to pay money then and move things on my own without any help. This is the most fraudulent, egregious company I've ever worked with. I will be filing complaints with the better business bureau, I will be leaving reviews on every site possible, and I will be in contact with lawyers regarding filing lawsuits for fraud, misrepresentation, and demand an investigation into this garbage company.
