I have seen both father and son over the years for routine exams as well as office visits for my dog. Frankly speaking, I wouldn't trust Dr. Mundh Sr. with serious or emergency pet issues. I feel like his responses have been blunt and/or dismissive whenever I've asked him questions, and I wouldn't trust his diagnosis for something serious. His son, Dr. Mundh Jr., has a better bedside manner and he correctly diagnosed and treated a condition my dog had when his dad sort of brushed it off during my visit with him. Dr. Mundh Jr. talks fast though, so sometimes I feel like I'm rushed whenever I'm with him. Good bedside manner is critical to me, and I haven't always been satisfied with the bedside manner at this clinic over the years. I most likely will return to my previous vet hospital.

My dad took our dog in for a senior dog check up but ended up doing some blood work and some sort of liquid biopsy of her mass. For all of this, we paid around $650 which is high in my opinion but it is an animal hospital vs a regular clinic. Not even 2 days later and they call us back with the results! I spoke with Dr. Yang who talked about the results in detail and explained everything to me. Unfortunately my dog has cancer. She mentioned she did not feel comfortable operating on her tumor and recommended Ark Vet Clinic. About 3 years ago, I took my very sick dog to Bloom Animal Hospital and did not have a great experience with my 13 y/o pitbull. Very traumatized from that, I was weary of animal clinics in general. I appreciated Dr. Yang being thorough and honest about what she felt comfortable doing. She explained what my options were and made me feel comfortable asking all the questions I had. Since my visit last Monday, I've called a few more times. I find that I usually speak to Marianna, who works the front desk and is equally as helpful at answering all my question. Dr. Scott and the veterinary technicians who work directly with the animals are phenomenal -- compassionate, skilled, and attentive. I've always felt confident that our pets were receiving excellent medical care from that side of the practice. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the front office staff. Over the years, they've consistently come across as cold and indifferent, which we've tolerated because we value Dr. Scott and the professional staff so highly. Today was the most disheartening experience yet. Our 18-year-old cat, who has a thyroid condition and has seen Dr. Scott regularly, had declined rapidly this past week. Our family made the painful decision to have her euthanized. I spent hours trying to arrange an in-home visit, but being a Sunday, very few were available. As a last hope, I called Evergreen to ask if they could fit us in for LuLu's euthanasia. Regina at the front desk told me there was no availability -- not even as an emergency -- and suggested we "go to an emergency vet." There was no compassion, no sympathy, and no effort to help, even though Dr. Scott was on duty. After nearly two decades of loyalty and tens of thousands of dollars spent at this clinic, I expected at least a measure of care or understanding in such a heartbreaking moment. Instead, I was made to feel like a number, not a long-time client facing the loss of a beloved family member. Evergreen's veterinarians and techs are wonderful, but the cold, impersonal nature of the front office is deeply disappointing. If you can overlook that lack of warmth, your pets will be in excellent medical hands. But compassion should extend beyond the exam room -- and sadly, that's where Evergreen falls short.

The care we received in just the first visit with Dr. H truly showed me what we were missing in the various veterinary practices we have taken our dogs to before. She is so passionate about her work, and it shows in the time she takes to explain to you her thought process, the research she does to find best treatments, and just the amazing compassion and kindness she brings to each appointment. What went from a simple appointment for potential back pain, turned into a journey of healing our two dogs from various symptoms such as itchy skin, ear infections, and behavioral concerns, all due to food allergies. While other vets had only treated the symptoms or told us these things are normal due to their breed, Dr. H helped us get to the root cause and improve the quality of life for our dogs. Today I took our miniature bull terrier to her annual check up, and what normally would be an extremely stressful appointment for both her and I, was the smoothest and calmest appointment we've ever had in the 7 years of having her. He would get medication and it'd go away, but we never knew what was causing it, and nobody had ever suggested it being caused by anything. We came to Rancho Vet for another one of my cats because they were one of the only vet offices with appointments for that day. I brought Oliver and my third cat in for an appointment to get them established at Rancho Vet, and I just happened to mention that Oliver randomly had these stomach issues sometimes. Dr. Hernandez suggested he may have a food allergy, so we food trialed and realized this was the case! Dr. Hernandez also mentioned Oliver had a gallop heart rhythm and said it might be nothing, but suggested we get him checked for that. We decided to get a scan, and we found out Oliver had HCM. From then on, Oliver became a regular at Rancho Vet. Every time Oliver would get a scan or do a blood test, Dr. Hernandez would call me with results and never hesitated to answer every single question I had, staying on the phone with me for up to an hour sometimes while I asked questions, shared anxieties, and came up with a game plan together on what would work for Oliver. Recently, Oliver passed from a blot clot caused by his HCM. During his hospital stay prior, Dr. Hernandez called on a Sunday multiple times to check in on Oliver and my family. When Oliver began dragging one of his hind legs while at MedVet and was declining, Dr. Hernandez helped us come to the conclusion that this was the worst case scenario for our Ollie, and that it'd be the humane thing to say goodbye to him. I can't emphasize how competent, compassionate, and driven the staff at Rancho Vet are. You can tell when someone is just passionate about what they do, and Dr. Hernandez is definitely it. The front desk communication also felt impersonal and inattentive, as the girl asked me questions about my dog while facing her computer, which made interaction difficult. I was recommended an extensive treatment plan involving multiple injections without a clear diagnosis from the veterinarian, so I did not feel comfortable proceeding with it and only agreed to a single antibiotic injection The only positive part of the visit was the veterinary technician who administered the injection -- she was extremely kind, friendly, and reassuring, and made an otherwise stressful visit feel a bit more comfortable.
