The day before the job, he texts me saying he needs raise the price and proceeds to "tech-splain" how it's a specialized job requiring specialized tools (I built it myself originally with a drill using a couple of bits). He offered to refund the deposit since I denied the now unaffordable service. As of writing this review, I have yet to receive it.

Broken furniture, missing parts, lying truck driver, and the list goes on. My sister and I had to help unload and put my furniture away. ( Which I paid extra for.) The truck driver, the 800 phone number, the salesman, kept telling us help was on the way, but little did we know, the truck driver had no intentions of getting help, since he has to pay the crew. It took almost 12 hours for the three of us to unload and assemble things. The driver even tried to take my expensive lawn mower, and insisted it was not in his truck. I told him it had to be there, it was new, and in the manufacturer's box. As I start to search his rig, he is right behind me saying "it's not here," and just as he says it I find my box. He is still denying it is mine. (It is roped off in another section,) I show him my name on box, and he finally lets me have it. Towards the 11th hour we knew that the truck driver was also exhausted. My sister and I are over 65 years old. Needless to say I "Threw my back out with so much lifting,"... my sister did not feel well, either. We made a complaint right away about what happened and were assured we would be compensated for the extreme, grueling, episode, we went through... And they tell me I signed a paper that says .60 cents a pound. So for my Flex Norditrack, my furniture, my missing batteries for mower, etc, they offer me about $75.00, then they offer me 150.00 for the 12 hours of work my sister and I had to do, and no compensation for being in bed for almost two weeks in serious pain. I am exhausted of trying to talk to their people. "RUN, DON't WALK AWAY FROM this MOVING COMPANY... There are more nightmare stories of them stealing stuff, being rude, and holding furniture as ransom. If you do have a CLAIM make sure you file it before nine months is up. My only recourse now is to take them to court.

It didn't help that my parents were breathing down my neck, doing the frugal-Asian-parents thing that they do. In the end, the choice was pretty clear. I could go with a traditional van line moving service, or I could hire Bekins' moving pod product line, Chronos, at roughly half the cost. Even though half of a big number is still a big number, the savings (at over a grand!) had me sold. On both ends of the move, the folks who came to pick up and drop off most of my worldly possessions were supremely efficient at their task and flexible with logistical requirements/challenges. Y'know... like the crazy regulations that generally don't make sense, but that are enforced by a condo management agency. Or similar ultra-strict rules and missing freight elevator operators in a Manhattan doorman building. Eh. I got to use my own padlock to ensure that no one tampered with my crap once it was loaded into the giant moving pod; the only casualties of the move appear to be a small plate and a little plastic pad for my dining room table. I barely had to lift a finger, and the price was -exactly- what I was quoted, down to the last cent. As far as I'm concerned, I consider hiring Bekins to haul my stuff up the eastern seaboard a success. That said, I'm really -not- excited about moving again anytime soon.

From the very first phone call with David, I thought he was very helpful and patient and I didn't feel rushed in the phone call. The pricing was the best around. I had gotten other quotes from other moving companies.. And I thought it was a little outrageous the quotes I was given. This company was well priced. They arrived on time on the date of the month. And I was called about 20 minutes before arrival. It was three guys and one truck - we moved from a three level townhouse to a one floor house. In the morning, I did get them some coffee and donuts from Dunkin' Donuts Which they were very grateful for and surprised After a quick coffee break they got right to work Manuel, Elmer and Freddy are very nice gentlemen and hard workers. The office people had the nerve to tell me "the movers don't always know the policy" then why let someone represent your company make false promises IF THEY DON'T KNOW NOTHING. This is on top of being an hour late to the house we moved from, taking at least 3 breaks, and taking several pictures while inside our home for who knows what. Update: Rachel also likes to post as the company on facebook with the same lies as they continue to make. As I expressed there others should be concerned with going with a company that is not trustworthy or honest especially when it involves entering your personal space. Best to avoid. They may be the cheapest but you're definitely get the same customer service as the saying goes "you get what you pay for." Hire friends before them and don't even consider as a last resort.

You could've turned the trailer upside down and nothing would've shifted. That's how solid their work was. We had to take some very narrow, rough back roads to get to my place -- ruts, tight shoulders, barely enough room for a car and a trailer side-by-side. I was nervous at first, but the driver handled it like a true professional. Not once did I feel like my belongings were at risk. Everything arrived in perfect condition, not a scratch, not a scuff, nothing loose. They worked hard, stayed polite the whole time, and treated my move like it actually mattered. I was told I would have four men. I had only two men. They did not have the man power to move my furniture. My dinet table was rolled on its side. The table put a large gouge in my hard wood floor. I was told they don't pay to get that fixed. I am still finding pieces that are damaged. I never complain so this is new to me. They contracted the move out to another company and failed to even tell me. My furniture was dropped, rolled and dresser drawers dropped in the yard. I can't even touch the surface of how bad. Please stay far away from this company. I used them years ago. I was told they are under new management now. I wish I did more checking. What a disappointment.

As I recall, initially the number I called for BRM went to someone else who told me they were getting my info to the right person. Darryck contacted me shortly after and needed to inform me when he could do the job based on another larger move customer the same week we needed. By the end of the next day he had locked me in to the next Wednesday, which was perfect for us. After talking to Darryck more and asking why he doesn't have any online presence on Google and Yelp for that matter, I found out that he has recently purchased the business from a former employer and is having a hard time getting these online listing services to allow him to set up the business under new ownership with the same business name. Also, the Facebook representation had no posts since June 2022, so at first, I was dubious. Well, Darryck is apparently focusing on providing good work more than online presence. He was great on communications. Answers his phone, texts and emails in reasonable time for a man physically doing the work. He was the only mover who sent me a quote on letterhead as a .pdf. He and his partner worked as if THEY were paying for my move. They really hustled, in a good way, I wasnt concerned about the cargo due to them working so fast. He charged their time from the moment they arrived and began working to the last box landing at the other end. Very reasonable and came in at a fraction of his estimate for his final bill. Note: We were very prepared with very little to disassemble and almost everything boxed, staged and ready to go. It was a small move and they knocked it out like it was nothing. The better YOU prepare, the less expensive your move will be. These guys work HARD by the hour. Anything you can do to make their job easier, simply saves you money. The less you leave them to do, the less your cost is going to be.
