My son brought his Chevy Silverado from Missouri and he just had the transmission rebuilt but it was shifting really hard in all the gears, I talked to Bill and he said he will take a look at it in a few days as he was real busy. I brought the truck to him on a Monday morning and he fixed it that afternoon. Bill explained to me that they had put a Chinese part in it and the pressure was turned up to high. He replaced the Chinese motor with a better Quality one and it is now super smooth. It cost me a reasonable price. Not many people buy several transmission rebuilds a year, but as the Volvo man in town at Fjords of Sweden, I've been using Community transmission for over 20 years for all of my rear wheel drive transmission needs. They've rebuilt countless Volvo transmissions for us over the years, and took care of two Chevy trucks that I use and abuse for towing. One of the trucks turned out to need an inexpensive, in-car repair instead of a rebuild. So they are not only competent, they are honest and trustworthy too. All of the transmissions they've rebuilt for me over the years are still running strong, and they stand behind their work with a good warranty. These guys saved me so much money!!! The first shop I took my car to told me I needed my entire transmission rebuilt for $2000. I do NOT have that kind of money just laying around. Luckily, a friend recommended Community Transmission. They said there was a chance it was a smaller problem (broken snap toggles I think they said) that they could fix for $500 and THEY WERE RIGHT. Good honest transmission shop. I took my prerunner Bronco I have been building and using with a previously built by Monster went out right after a new engine install. They diagnosed it needing a rebuild. They were fair and honest and did not charge a bunch of money to look at it at all. I am contemplating rebuilding this one or using a different model trans for this. I would not be against having them doing a rebuild of mine if I do rebuild it. read more

My 89 Silverado had a sticky transmission governor so I couldn't get out of 1st gear. Went to several part stores who didn't carry the part but told me to check with Community. So I drove there showing Bill the part and he told me the one I had was fine and broke it down, cleaned it up on the spot and put it back together in 5 minutes. Truck is back on the road! This is hands down the best transmission repair shop around! Dan and Bill do tremendous work and are very fast! I had a broken flexplate on my F350 Turbo Diesel, and in less than a day, it was all done including some additional servicing to my transmission. Other shop looked at what appeared to be a transmission leak and quoted $2000 to remove and replace mine with a rebuilt. Later that day I started my search for a second opinion and stopped at Community Transmission. Checked their reviews on Yelp and saw the multiple 5 stars. I drove in and explained the situation to Bill. No sooner that I finished my explanation he went under the car and checked the leak, wiped it, and said he would need the car over night to really diagnose it, but because it was a very small leaked to just keep an eye on it. He also said that an oil leak will travel to the lowest point, that being the transmission. Well he was totally right on. The oil was coming from elsewhere. Thanks Bill. read more
