Perfect place to enjoy a late lunch while having the sun on your back! The servers were so welcoming and full of great suggestions, the chips and salsa DELISH! Tacos spot on. We enjoyed jalapeño margs with tajin and salted rims. Lovely outdoor seating with ample seating.

Vegan review. We were a pretty large group and they sat us right away. The door was delicious here I ordered the jackfruit fajitas. And they were spicy and delicious. Clean place and nice atmosphere. Customer service was amazing. He did such a great job guiding all of us and helping all of us on our choices. I would definitely come back here again.

I'm obsessed with Como's queso. Like very obsessed! It's the only queso I've found that is vegetarian friendly without chorizo already in the queso, of course if you want to add it you can! Also they have amazing drinks and great bartenders! They even have some of the best mocktails I've ever tried! Definitely recommend sitting on the patio in the summer or tucking in at the bar during the winter!

COMO is an absolute gem in Truckee; from the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome, friendly, attentive, and on point without being overbearing. The cocktail menu is top notch, with creative, well-balanced drinks that are as beautiful as they are delicious. The ambiance, especially outside, is spot on; great music, cozy lighting, and a relaxed mountain vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Bonus points for being incredibly dog friendly, our pup was treated like a VIP, which was a huge plus. Whether you're out for a date night, drinks with friends, or just passing through, COMO nails it on all fronts; easily one of the best spots in Truckee.

Warm and welcoming decor, attentive staff, and an interesting blend of flavors here. Visited for dinner and ordered a wet shrimp burrito and the Oaxaca old fashioned. The burrito was large and well presented, and they were generous with the shrimp. The salsa was sweeter than I anticipated and was not the best blend with the interior flavors for me. The old fashioned was strong with some bite to the finish, and the bourbon flavor was earthy. The staff here were friendly and attentive, and the environment was lively but not too loud. Would recommend for groups looking for a comfortable location to enjoy downtown Truckee.

Full menu - we ordered from the small plates, tacos, cocktails and mocktails.

The service is beyond belief. They have a sister restaurant next door called Clean Plate. All of the low tables at Como were filled up and Ashley asked if we would like to seated at their sister restaurant next door. We didn't even leave the building! She passed me to Ashley at Clean Plate and presented me with both menus. My partner had a hankering for Mexican so we ordered 2 of the large taco orders. Both the Carne Asada and Baja Fish Tacos were the best we have had in a long time. They are 5.25 for 1 taco and 15.25 for 3 tacos. Partner and I each swapped one so I got to taste both. Fish was magic dipped in a tempura batter (light - not heavy and crunchy!!). There was black bean and corn salsa and cabbage with it. The corn tortilla was house made - hand pressed. Great flavor and texture. The Carne Asada had beef cut small enough to prevent it getting stuck in my teeth (I was so happy). There was avocado salsa and Cotija cheese in it with it as well as a classic salsa ranchero. We also got the chips and sals. We weren't going to but I'm so glad we did. Again warm house made tortilla chips with two house made salsa - tomatillo and a roasted Roma tomato salsa that was cooked down into a divine thick salsa that hung on to the tortilla chip like it was in love with it. Our mouths were so in love with the chips and salsa. This is NOT cheap Mexican street food. This was clean, upscale, dare I say gourmet Mexican street food. Worth every penny. Do t let me forget our beverages. He had the Como Margarita - gold star approval from my margarita connoisseur partner. I had a mock tail that was AMAZING. I had the Mango sin Tango which had mango, lime, ginger, chamoy and soda in it. It is the bartender's favorite mocktail. Btw, he was very nice to look at. Check out Bob on Friday nights! You're welcome. Super nice people, super fast back of the house. You will get a meal and an experience that rivals the finest in San Francisco. Total bill was 67.74 including tax and an employee health surcharge of $1.67. This staff needs to have affordable healthcare so we gladly paid that 3% and hope they stay healthy! I want them all here when we come back. We will be back!!!!

Two restaurants in one: Como and Clean Plate. We loved both but the salads at Clean Plate were the best salads ever! We ate there three days in a row. Each day, Asher was our server and he was OUTSTANDING! Excellent service! Great food!

COMO'n over and get yourself some tasty tacos and more! Stumbled into this uniquely decorated restaurant while walking around Old Truckee town. The chicken tortilla soup was was like a warm hug on a chilly day, pretty tasty too. The mound of guacamole had the perfect amount of acidity, I would eat it all to my self! My tacos were very unique, bursting with flavor. A huge surprise is that they make all their tortillas in house so it adds a nice texture with each taco. Great customer service and overall vibe at this restaurant. I would highly recommend it.

Stopped in to COMO after hiking! Our waitress was Amelia... who was the best!!! I got a margarita mocktail that was not only pretty but tasted so good! We started with the queso and chips. Both were delicious. I think the cheese maybe needed to be melted longer. I then got the 3 tacos. One shrimp, chicken, carne asada. The carne asda one was my favorite! It had so much flavor. The best part of this cute spot besides from our great service was the dog friendly patio! My yellow Labrador got so much attention! If you are in the Tahoe area check out COMO!

Delicious guacamole and a huge basket of chips.

They were excellent. Like, the kind where you pause mid-bite and nod. The enchiladas were exactly what you want after a long Tahoe day: cheesy, saucy, and piping hot in the best kind of way. Comfort food perfection. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. A couple quirks to know going in: * Beware the green salsa. It is SPICY. Do not mistake it for guacasalsa. It's actually spicier than the red salsa and has some serious kick. * Chips aren't free and only come in one large size, so plan accordingly if you're just looking for a small side. Their street style tacos are a lot bigger then what we are use to in LA and very generous with the meat. You can definitely make 2 tacos with one. Ordered a beet salad, meat lovers pizza and a flight of beer tastings (4 flavors) First off the Server was wonderful! Very warm and very friendly to talk with. The beets, candied walnuts and cheese mixed with the arugula was such a fantastic and delicious combo! I'd drive 4 hours just for this salad! The all meat pizza is delicious! The service was…read moregreat, the food was amazing, and the live music and lively atmosphere lent to the amazing experience we had. This place is busy for a reason and the wait is worth it. We came in as Walk-ins and despite the fact that there were 17 parties on the reservation list before us, we still were able to be seated and within 25 minutes. Our server Caroline was quick to get our orders in and as first time visitors, she made excellent suggestions to make our night unforgettable. To start, we had two drinks off the menu, the Whiskey Mango Foxtrot and the Spicy Cucumber Mar-tini. Both were excellent, and the marg-tini had an especially good japalepeno kick, which is what I was looking for. We're normally old fashion kind of drinkers but the Whiskey Mango Foxtrot had excellent flavor and was well balanced, with what tasted like a Tajin mango. The real star of the show was the food though. The server wasn't joking when she said the nachos are best shared with two people, and I even opted for the guacamole. The carnitas were buttery tender and the cheese sauce tasted gourmet and incredibly flavorful. I definitely recommend these! They were probably some of the best nachos I've had, and this is coming from someone that's lived in Santa Barbara for 5 years! Next up was the burrito bowl, and the first thing that comes to mind is: generous! We're used to spending $25 an entree in the city and still leaving the restaurant hungry, but not here. The chips were fresh and crispy and truly taste hand made. The birria beef was amazing and tender and flavorful, and the pickled onions and vinegar sauce was the chefs kiss on an altogether amazing dish. We're so glad to have finally made it over here! Bottom line, this restaurant is worth checking out if you're in the area. It's packed with locals every night, but don't let the long wait times dissuade you, they under-promise and over deliver. These are the best drinks and food with Mexican flare this side of the Sierras, and will become a staple during our visits to the area. If you appreciate good food, drinks, and an amazing mountain atmosphere, you owe it to yourself to put Shadyside Lounge on your short list of places to try, I know I did and the only regret I have is not coming here sooner!

Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully put together. We ordered two encharitos, one with the beef birria and one with the chicken. Both were fantastic, but if you're deciding between the two, get the beef birria. The enchilada sauce is absolutely to die for, and the rich, tender beef put it over the top. The carnitas burrito was incredibleeeee. It was packed with the perfect ratio of carnitas, beans, rice, and all the fixings, so every bite had a little bit of everything. The carnitas were cooked perfectly. It was super tender with great flavor and seasoning. I'm already craving it again. We also started with the guacamole, which was fresh, chunky, and generously portioned. For drinks, we had the House Margarita, the Scratch Cadillac, and the Smoking Gun. The margaritas were refreshing and well-balanced, but a little light on the tequila. The Smoking Gun, on the other hand, had a great spirit-to-flavor ratio. It's definitely smoky (as the name suggests), so if you're a mezcal fan, you'll probably love it (like me!). Service was great. Our waitress was young, incredibly sweet, attentive, and happy to accommodate a few special requests. Just be prepared to wait. It's a small restaurant that's clearly popular, and for good reason. The atmosphere is cute and lively, though it does get pretty loud. That didn't bother me at all, but it's worth mentioning if you're looking for a quieter dinner.
