Butternut Alfredo... A perfect pasta for my vegetarian wife.

What a great piece of the Fairport dining and entertainment area of The Cannery. My wife and I went here for the first time for our anniversary and couldn't have been happier. Beautiful ambience, a delightful server and absolutely delicious food. A unique and contemporary twist on traditional Italian. A must try in our opinion.

    Fried Calamari

Calamari was soo good and crispy with banana peppers. We also really enjoyed the salmon and I liked how it was paired with corn and red peppers. Service was excellent and we chose to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air and watch the sun set. However, we didn't like the pasta as it was quite thick and undercooked. Chicken cutlet was ok but a bit on the drier side. The salad that came with it was good. Def would come back for the calamari and salmon.

Excellent meal! We love coming here. Parking can be tricky when there are events at other businesses so leave time to find a spot. The building is accessible for wheelchairs/walkers as are the 4 unisex bathrooms. There is a little dip in the floor when going from the dining spaces to the bathrooms, so have caution. The space is very open with high ceilings and a large bar that can get noisy and make it hard to have conversations, but also watch a little tv and unwind. The Hostess station is located just to the right inside the main door. We were early for our 6:45pm reservation on a Friday night and we were seated right away. I definitely recommend reservations. A lovely carafe of cucumber water was brought to the table right away. Noah came by shortly afterwards to take our drink order and explain the menu & specials. We each ordered a salad and a main dish. Hubby had a glass of Chianti, a Cesar salad, and the Veal Milanese. He loved it! Salt and pepper are not on the table but Noah brought hubby some on request. The wooden container swings open to reveal 3 cups, one each for salt, pepper and red pepper flakes with a little spoon to serve. Very cute! I ordered the house salad and the salmon. The salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. The salmon was outstanding. They grill it to a medium center and I loved the crispy edges and grilled lemon on the side. I was surprised at the edamame & chickpea risotto - it was sooo delicious and simple. The cucumber yogurt pulled everything together and I think this dish is my new favorite. Noah was efficient friendly and checked on us often without being intrusive. Neither of us had room for dessert. All desserts except the cheesecake are housemade so maybe next time we will save some room (even though we skipped an appetizer thinking we were saving room today, sigh). We will be back!

This place has some really delicious pastas. All the different sauces are so good and the noodles are fun! The bar area is really pretty too.

Great service, nice location. - nice bar area - great ambiance for hanging out or date night. - outdoor seating is ideal for when all the festivals are in town I really enjoyed all the dishes. It's a little pricey but they give generous portions. I felt the primi and secondi plates could be split between two people. - blue crab on toast was really good. Not fishy and very flavorful - the fried calamari was spot on perfection. I'd come back just for that again and again. - the gnocchi and pasta dishes were fantastic. You can tell it's all freshly made.

The place itself is very nice and the owner is SO nice. Loved sitting outside, the owner was so friendly and checked in with us a couple times making sure everything was good! The food was good but nothing to write home about. I was not very impressed with the arancini which was so disappointing, I wish it came with red sauce instead. Vodka sauce pasta had a LOT of pancetta, it overwhelmed the whole dish. Also my friends ordered the chicken French and they were very surprised that it only had one chicken breast instead of 2 so they were disappointed with that one.

Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish. Definitely a nice place for a special occasion, pricey but for good reason! Service was quick, food was incredible and location is awesome.

We went to this place at their old location a couple years ago. I probably would have given it a 2 or 3 star. We had the pizza, and were not big fans of the crust. This was our first trip to the new location. We decided to try the pasta this time. The pasta was amazing. If I were to go back, I would definitely stick to pasta, although I am tempted to see if the quality of the pizza has changed. We went on a Tuesday night around 6:30 without reservations and they were able to seat us right away. From the bread (salty bread!!!) to the appetizer to the entrees it all exceeded our expectations, especially after our first visit. Staff was friendly. Which helped with the experience. It's close to two breweries and iron smoke distillery. So the location is very convenient for a night out.

We order compane trattoria as a food option at preservation brewing. We have been there for dinner before and thought there pizzas would be great. The pizza came hot and had good flavor. The issues we had was for the price there was too much crust and not enough toppings. For the price, we were surprised to see they were a little light on topping and we had so much crust. I think next time, we will not get them to go.

Pretty good food! Delicious arancini, and perfect table oil and vinegar. Mezzaluna had wonderfully strong lemon flavor, although water-logged. Wouldn't recommend for a date or more relaxing atmosphere. Ambiance wasn't great, brightly lit, and loud dated (but not retro-fun) music, and outdated decor. Service was certainly kind but not very attentive and not always professional. There's a fee for use of credit card, which is clearly stated on the menu to avoid any surprise.

We had a reservation & were seated promptly when we got there. Service was slow but they were friendly. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was to die for. I had the veal parmigiana & my husband the chicken. Portions were large but it was like warm. I was very disappointed by the apple crisp. It is cooked in the cast iron skillet in their pizza oven but there oats were chewy & uncooked. The flavor was strange & the best part was the homemade whipped cream. It is loud inside. We will go back but not on the top of my list

We started with a flight of mediocre (as it turned out) red wines; a Grenache, an Italian varietal, and a Cabernet. 3x2 or 6 ounces for $15.00. None of the wines were very good. We like to sample wines by the flight so we can drive up to Georgetown liquor and get a bottle. None of these were even close to prompting a visit there. For food we had a peach, tomato, quinoa, goat, and kale salad. We also had a cheese flight and I had the spicy meatballs. Expensive and very small portions. My meatball app was $15 and was 1 and 1/2 small meatballs doused in Frank's with a squirt of blue cheese. It was spicy as advertised but meager. Cheese flight was ok, but also $13 for not a lot. Spoiler alert: if their menu says 'shareable', it's not, unless one of you (or both) are fasting. Service was adequate and we got to enjoy the live music entertainment sound check (we got there before the actual performance). Guy banging on the percussion box: yes, it's way too loud for the tiny space. Usual server upselling of their overpriced menu items and drinks, but not delivering much in the way of hospitality or warmth. I don't think we would go back unless one of our friends wanted to. I think if you just want to drink and listen to live music, this place will work for you.

If you enjoy Greek cusine, this is hands down the best Greek restaurant experience I have ever encountered in the greater Rochester area. Consistently fresh food. Reasonable service time. Attentive staff with great timing and not overbearing. (The owner makes time to visit my party every time I am there). The atmosphere is modern and classy without being tacky. It's a great restaurant for a first date or a special occasion. I like the quality and service so much I will go solo after a long days work and enjoy a glass of wine with some Spanakopita and Dolmades. The attire is casual (you could show up in a nice shirt and jeans and feel welcome), but business casual is where you would land most comfortably. We were seated promptly at a nice table and brought water immediately. Our server Ryan came and told us about the specials and took our drink order. She returned several minutes later and took our orders for dinner. I was looking forward to the risotto because they always have a good risotto special, my husband had the limoncello chicken. Drinks came out and then the bread, nice and warm. The salads seemed to take a little longer than usual but the greens were fresh. Unfortunately that's where the good ended. We waited and waited for dinner. Tables around us that arrived after us were being served their meals. We waited patiently, making conversation trying not to feel annoyed. Ryan returned asking if we needed more to drink or more bread, no we still had bread. She apologized for the delay and said she would check with the kitchen. She returned 15 minutes later and said the kitchen was working on our orders. We were at 1 hour at this point, 10 minutes later our food finally arrived, it looked beautiful. The shrimp placed decoratively on top of the risotto, scallops lightly seared. The chicken in a creamy white sauce with linguini and fresh herbs on top. My first bite of the risotto was a disappointment, it was undercooked, more than a little al dente (risotto is not supposed to be any al dente). I tried different places around the dish to see if maybe there was some way to save this dinner, sadly not. We waited well over an hour for our dinners and it was undercooked. The scallops were good as were the shrimp so those were eaten. Our server did not return to ask how our dinners were. The chicken dish was good and my husband enjoyed it, brought half home as it was an ample portion. When Ryan returned she offered boxes, I declined since you cannot fix undercooked risotto. I explained what was wrong and she said she would let the owner know because he was helping in the kitchen. She returned with the wrapped up chicken and offered a free cannoli to compensate for the problem. We accepted, my husband ate it because I don't care for cannolis. We paid our check and left. I was surprised that if the owner was working in the kitchen and alerted to the problem that he didn't come out. I found that a bit strange, if it was my restaurant and someone said the special that was priced at $42 was not cooked properly I would come out to apologize for the problem. He did not, we paid the check and left. We have eaten there twice before and our meals were good. We do not eat out at nice restaurants often but because it was my 60th birthday we decided the occasion was worth the splurge. Sadly I don't think we will return based on the long dinner preparation time and the quality/price of the risotto. We don't mind paying extra for good food but this was disappointing.
