Our dog, Tyson, needed bilateral TPLO surgeries, and as young, first-time dog owners, we were nervous and had no idea what to expect. Dr. Baker took the time to guide us through every step of the process, answered all of our questions, and made us feel confident in the decisions we were making for Tyson. Both surgeries went extremely well, and Tyson recovered remarkably quickly. He was already toe-touching just three days after each surgery, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We are so grateful we were referred to Dr. Baker. His knowledge, skill, and genuine care for his patients gave us complete confidence that Tyson was in the best hands possible. For the most part, the entire staff was kind, friendly, and incredibly supportive. While Dr. Baker was exceptional, we also want to thank Benita, Justin, Katelyn, Kim, and everyone else who helped care for Tyson before, during, and after both surgeries. Their kindness, compassion, and patience meant so much to us as we learned how to care for Tyson throughout his recovery. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of one experience we had with Alicia while discussing the CareCredit financing promotion for Tyson's second surgery. For Tyson's first surgery, the clinic processed our CareCredit purchase using the 12-month promotional financing option, and everything went smoothly. However, when it came time for his second surgery, Alicia told us they would only process it under the 6-month promotional financing option. Our disappointment wasn't with the financing itself--it was with how the conversation was handled. We felt dismissed rather than helped. Alicia was unprofessional in the way she spoke to us and even raised her voice at her coworker, Kim, in front of us while Kim was simply trying to assist. It made for a very uncomfortable experience. We weren't asking for anything different than what had already been done for Tyson's first surgery--we were simply hoping to use the same 12-month CareCredit promotional financing. After Alicia spoke with the owner, the clinic agreed to process it using the 12-month promotional option after all. We appreciated that the issue was ultimately resolved, but we never received an apology for how the interaction was handled. That experience was disappointing, especially from someone in a management position, because customer service and the way clients are treated matter just as much as the excellent medical care they provide. That said, one negative interaction does not overshadow the outstanding care Tyson received from Dr. Baker and the rest of the team. We are incredibly thankful for everything they did for him, and we would absolutely recommend Gobles Veterinary Clinic to anyone looking for excellent veterinary care. I haven't left many review's on here, but omg I'm warning you, do not take your cat here!! I'm honestly so disgusted by that experience. Completely uninformed and robbed me of nearly $200... Soo my cat started peeing yellow 'crystals' outside the litter box. I took her in to see what was up. They couldn't get a urine sample, so I took her back the next day. They still couldn't, gave me a test to take home and charged me $70... to do their job? I tried for a week and it was nearly impossible to do that at home, so I took her back in. They finally said that they got a 'couple drops' and said she was completely fine. It would be $110. I asked about the crystals again bc that's why I took her in.. Also why I was paying for another visit when I was only coming back bc they couldn't get a sample. The lady on the phone kept saying the same thing, 'ooh idk' then told me I was breaking up... I finally got there, and stupidly payed $80 before talking to Dr. Chris Buckley... Omg.. that guy... I'm so annoying I asked all the workers about the crystals, showing them videos I took, telling them I've seen it multiple times and it's not just something on the ground. Dr. Chris Buckley then said, "hmMm looks like something on the ground. See there's some hair on the ground too." I told him again that it wasn't... Then I looked up some pictures online of the same thing, showing him that it DEFINITELY exists. Finally, he said " That's really weeird, I've never heard of anything like that before... Hmm crazy, but I didn't see any crystal." Like excuse me??!! Who's the vet here? Do I really need to look it up online for you to even acknowledge that it's real?? At this point I'm convinced they didn't even get the sample, bc the next day, guess what, she pees on the floor with the same crystals in it... The staff here was so amazing and caring throughout the whole process. THey let me take my time saying goodby to my Snickers. They made him comfortable and relaxed before he passed in my arms. I can not be more thankful to these wonderful people for the compassion they showed from start to to finish. When I picked up his ashes a week later they were in a nice tin with a blue rose on top. The plasters of his paw prints were a beautiful remembrance of my little side kick. I received a card from the clinic about a week later signed by all the staff which really solidified what I already knew, that Allegan Animal Clinic has the best staff around and really cares about their fur baby families!
