I have NEVER seen the groomers or instructors mistreat a dog. I have seen dogs misbehave, however the discipline has been absolutely appropriate and never violent. I have, however, seen the instructor speak VERY firmly to an owner who was mistreating his dog.

My mother was horrified but is quite non-confrontational and really didn't know how to handle it. Had it been me I'd have smacked HER on the nose a couple times and asked her how that felt. I can't believe these people are '"training" dogs. The response to fear would be to attempt to soothe I would think, not intensify it by smacking the hell out of them.

Most recently I've started scent work with my new puppy and have been attending the basic obedience classes with the puppy. The trainers are friendly and knowledgeable and the classes are fun. But, most importantly, we've seen great results and I truly have 2 pleasant dogs.

Young staff member lectured us if we were a little late, claiming we were throwing their whole schedule off. Rarely were there other vehicles or customers there, so I'm not sure how that was possible. Their services usually took 5 -10 minutes, with every minute of it seeming rushed, adding anxiety to our dog. Staff member didn't appear to have maturity to handle challenges, or interested in our dog. Based upon what staff we've met, you might get a good experience, but you're just as likely to get told that any problem is because of you or your dog, and they can't help you. Oh, and they pre-charge for the services, so if you don't have a good experience, well, that must be because you did something wrong. Pleasant for their accounting, not so much for your dog.
