His expertise noticed a couple of installation errors , one of them was related to the control transformer. He was able to fix and completely remove the failing transformer and utilize the furness control panel instead, nice clean solution as the manufacture intended. The other installation error was causing condensation to not exit correctly and was leaking water that was rusting the front wall pan. I was unaware of this and was looking at having to replace a 4 year old furness if the rusting was to proceed or had already damaged the integrity of the wall. Adam checked the wall out and concluded that the heating element integrity was still good and the wall had not been compromised to the point of furness replacement. Without Adam's knowledge and skills I would be in a bad spot in the near future from the poor installation. I'm very pleased and happy with the outcome, thanks to Adam and do recommend JumpHVAC.

Their tech came to our home last week (once he…read morefinally got around to showing up on the second day after he was scheduled to arrive) to perform what I expected to be warranty work on our AC since they installed it in 2020. He very condescendingly informed me that the leak was coming from our evaporative coil but "they didn't install that evaporative coil" so it wouldn't be covered by the warranty. If I wanted the evap coil replaced, it would cost me $3500. I thought that was pretty strange -- that they would install a $7,000 AC in 2020 but not install a new evaporative coil with it? Hmm.... Needless to say, I didn't have him do any work since nothing was going to be covered by the warranty. Next, I called Signature Heating & AC (they were recommended here in Nextdoor). Their tech informed me that the evaporative coil in my home was manufactured in 2017. Since our previous AC unit was installed in 1998, Summit HAD to have installed the evap coil. I ended up having Signature Heating recharge our AC. After thinking about it over the weekend, I contacted Summit and told them that I found out they lied about the evap coil and told them I was considering legal action. Only then did Summit "look over their paperwork again" and admitted to installing the evap coil. Now they say they are willing to honor the warranty and will only charge $1260 in labor to do the work - which would be great if I hadn't already paid $767 to recharge our AC system! Too bad they weren't honest from the beginning. Not only that, but the Summit tech forged my name to the diagnostic invoice. Also, to find the refrigerant leak in the first place, the Summit tech told me it would cost me $1100 for a pressure test. But when the Signature tech arrived, he used a refrigerant sniffer to locate the leak at no charge. I highly recommend Signature Heating & AC. Quentin (Signature) spent a lot of time explaining what was wrong with our system and gave us some options. I didn't feel like I was being lied to, up charged and taken advantage of.

Previously, I've done this repair myself and it's a relatively quick and easy repair if you know how to watch YouTube. Unfortunately, we had a family issue which prevented me from handling it this time so we hired the first people who answered. One technician came and diagnosed the problem with a quote $851. I agreed. The next day, a different technician completed the job quickly and if you've ever done this job, it's plug and play and the most time consuming thing is unscrewing the panels. Total labor time across both visits was only about 40 minutes. Drive time, let's give them 2 hours. Unfortunately, the invoice showed just a single $851 charge with no breakdown. I assumed there was something a little more technical than an ignitor. When I questioned the bill, I was told the ignitor part alone was $200 or more. What does or more mean? Let's say a total of 2 hours of labor was involved and a $250 part. That's $300 per hour in labor! While I understand businesses have overhead and travel costs, this price felt surprisingly high for such a short repair and no transparency. Lesson learned
