Stopped in after a morning run and enjoyed an excellent iced latte. Very welcoming and attentive to customizing our order. The coffee was great and I'm already looking forward to trying another brew on my next visit.

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every weekend we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Compass Point Coffee. This coffee shop is a new addition to Millvale and is located right near the intersection of Evergreen Ave and North Ave. The outside looks like a classic red-brick corner building with a large white mural along the side that says "Compass Point Coffee Co. Est. 2023" in green. A couple of black chairs and planters filled with flowers sit just outside the entrance, adding some charm to the space. Inside, the shop has a cozy setup with a large coffee roaster that anchors the space, a few tables for seating, and some local Pittsburgh-themed artwork available for purchase. It's clear they're focused on coffee first, atmosphere second, and I mean that in the best possible way. Since they roast their own coffee here I decided to go with an americano on this morning while my wife went with a cold brew. Upon seeing my twins, the owner and his wife offered us complimentary hot chocolate or chocolate milk for them, which we thought was super nice. After that we got to talking about how they started roasting and selling their coffee online. We also geeked out talking about coffee whenever I mentioned that before kids I used to roast my own coffee with a Behmor. He was also nice enough to show my kids the coffee roaster running and he was honestly the nicest business owner I have talked to in a long time. Of course he could be nice, but his product still has to be good and thankfully it was. My coffee here tasted good and you could tell that it was freshly roasted. It started out a little bitter before moving into where you could taste the specifics of the varietal. Finally at the finish and lingering for a while after was a nice natural sweetness which I absolutely love whenever I get that from a coffee. My wife also enjoyed her cold brew here and my kids liked their hot chocolate. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Not only were the owners super nice but the coffee was good as well.

I got the "Josh" a pumpkin mocha! Delish!

The best corner coffee shop. They roast some amazing beans. Very reasonable prices. Get a hot cup and a warm smile.

Heads up, this location in Lawrenceville is a food truck. Not hating on food trucks, but I wish I had known that before going. It was chilly - though being from So Cal I'm usually cold out here. With that out of that way, dang it was good! I normally don't like drinks with flavors that overpower the espresso, but with the mocka latte I had, that's exactly what I wanted. The bittersweet flavor of the cacao shone through, like a indulgent dark chocolate. Haters gonna hate, but dark chocolate is one of the purest forms, and each sip gave me exactly what I was looking for. As for the arepas... Well, I've never had one before, so I don't have a measuring stick for this, but I really liked mine! I had the breakfast arepa with bacon. Scrambled eggs, nice bacon chunks, cheese, a little green sauce, all sandwiched in what I can only describe as like corn flatbread pieces. So good and surprisingly filling! I will probably go to the brick-and-mortar shop next to see how it compares, but if you're in the Lawrenceville area and want a unique pick-me-up, this is a great option.

The food truck has 2 outdoor seating igloos so you don't need to worry about snow or rain falling on you while you eat!! And the chimichurri sauce was so good I need it on everything. The service was super kind and the food came out pretty quickly. Check them out next time you're on Butler!
