Stopped by Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing for Saturday brunch and it was such a good decision. This spot has the perfect laid-back vibe for a weekend meal, plus an unbeatable view of downtown Raleigh, seriously, if the weather's nice, try to sit on the patio! We had a 70 degree surprise January day while we were there, so we did just that. We started our brunch with a couple of drinks: a bloody mary and an iced coffee. The bloody mary had a nice kick. Just the right amount of spice without going overboard. The iced coffee was smooth, not bitter at all, and honestly a great pairing if you're not in the mood for booze. To start, we shared the Dill Pickle Pimento Cheese with ripple-cut fries. I'm a sucker for pimento cheese and this one was outstanding. The dill relish gave it a tangy, fresh twist that worked so well with the creamy cheese. Scoop it up with those crispy ripple fries and you're golden. It's a shareable appetizer, but honestly, I'd come back just for that. For my lunch, I had the Chicken Caesar Pita. This isn't your average Caesar wrap. It was tasty, I wasn't expecting the chicken to be pulled, but it was pull juicy, marinated chicken, tons of Tuscan kale for a hearty bite, and generous shavings of parmesan. The charred Caesar dressing brought it all together with that smoky, savory flavor. The pita bread held everything nicely without getting soggy, and the portion was just right: filling, but not overwhelming. Service was super friendly and paced perfectly, not rushed, but never left waiting. Menu options looked creative and inclusive, with plenty for vegetarians and craft beer lovers, too. I love Wye Hill for a drink and came recently for the first time for brunch. I got the iced coffee - which is the only coffee they have - and it was good when mixed with the creamer. My friends and I also split the pimento cheese/fried dill pickle appetizer, which was DELICIOUS. And then I got the shrimp & grits. My mistake was getting without the chorizo. I don't like chorizo but if that's the clase for you, I would recommend getting something else. It was good but only 3 shrimps. Overall, I enjoyed the food and coffee. I came here to try the restaurant week 3 course meal and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes caprese, the birria burger and the raspberry mouse dessert. The birria was very flavorful. I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. The mozzarella and balsamic with arugula was great flavoring with the fried green tomatoes. The service was great. The staff were attentive and professional as always. Extra perk is that Wye Hill has a patio and they're dog friendly. Quick dinner review. I was dining solo a few weeks ago and decided to try out Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing. It's an eclectic place in the Boylan Heights section of Raleigh. First time to this restaurant and we loved it. They were doing their Christmas theme and we ate on the well-heated patio. For an appetizer, we had Deviled Eggs, which contained country ham, sweet potato, dill and horseradish. They were very good. The kids had Sweet Potato Soup and a the Wye Hill Burger. The Wye Hill Burger had a 6 oz burger patty, fried green tomato, smoked gouda, cheddar, bacon and chipotle crema. The Loaded Sweet Potato Soup combined fried sweet potato skins, country ham crumbles, smoked gouda and crema. This item was gluten free. For the main course, we selected the Pan-Seared Salmon with wild rice, red pumpkin curry and pepitas; as well as the Wild Rice Grain Bowl. The bowl included sweet potato, pickled onion, heirloom cherry tomato, arugula, lemon vinaigrette and we added the salmon. Both salmon dishes were excellent. Wye Hill is well known for its Brew with a View, but what about its food? The scenic patio on Boylan Bridge provides an excellent backdrop to the outdoor dining space, a view of downtown from a distance like no other. Even when it's cold you will find the patio plenty warm. The small menu focuses on offering a limited selection of dishes, with a few options, surprisingly there are very few vegetarian entrees. The menu does have what some may call a "coveted" Wagyu Burger, which is apparently considered a local favorite and something I just had to try. Much to my disappointment they serve it overcooked, erasing some of the subtle flavors of the meat, and at 27$ a burger that is real disappointment. Their deviled eggs come out like tiny, edible cloud pillows--each one a perfectly halved little wonder, topped with a swirl of creamy, tangy filling that seems to have been piped straight from a gourmet dream. The paprika dusting is like a sassy little sprinkle of spice, daring you to take a bite. The service is warm, attentive and on time. When you leave you know you'll be back--just not sure when. Parking is on the street. They have the option of indoor or outdoor seating, but the indoor seating was actually hotter than outside. The water was also warm. Not sure if that's the norm or if AC went out. They have a decent list of beers, but it's basically all IPAs. They do have food, but it's a bit pricey. Overall vibe is more hipster. I was meeting a coworker for lunch at a nearby hotel but their hotel restaurant was not open yet so we walked a few blocks over to this location (thanks to Yelp). We shared some deviled eggs and I had the shrimp and grits -- very tasty with salsa verde, which I had never seen with grits before. It was lunchtime so we didn't order any beers. The ambience was fine, nothing to note of specifically -- neither horrible nor amazing. Kind of standard, and has options of both outdoor and indoor seating. When my party and I went, it was a particularly hot day, 90° specifically, so we opted for indoor which to our surprise, was not alleviating. I'm not sure if perhaps it was just that hot that the AC could not handle it, or something but we were using the menus to fan ourselves, it was pretty crazy. The service was great! I think that's the only thing that really was notable for me personally. The food, which I for the omelette, was alright. The eggs were nice and fluffy, the spinach inside was well-cooked, and honestly the home fries were delicious but I was ultimately missing a hearty meal with a meat choice or some other filling outside of just spinach and shredded cheese. Outside of the AC issue, one thing I wasn't pleased by for sure was the seating. We had a party of 7 which the only accommodation for that was a high top and that was not accessible for some of us. I got brunch here for the first time with my boyfriend and his parents! I ordered a churro French toast that was tasty and sweet. The chocolate ganache wasn't overdone, it added a nice flavor to the fluffy toast. The berries were very fresh as well! We got strawberry bruschetta, which was sweet and savory at the same time. They told us it was a 5 minute wait when it was at least a 10 even when we made reservations and were on time. Food came at normal time and all of our food came together. It wasn't really that good though, maybe a 6.6/10. Didn't have that much flavor but the French fry's were the best I have EVER had. I ordered sprite as my drink and it was mostly watery and it came in a small portion. We came here in the Christmas time so there was lots of decorations. It is beautiful but I feel there could've been more colorful. It's mostly just blue and green. Wye Hill is a go to spot in Raleigh! Their service is always friendly and nice. The Brussels sprouts appetizer is a 10/10. It's very flavorful. I also recommend the bbq fries. The seasoning that is dusted on them is really tasty. The crunch also adds a nice texture to the appetizer. For entree, I got the blackened salmon with black rice. I really enjoyed this entree. It was seasoned really well and had an abundant portion size. I will say the shrimp and grits was a miss for me when I tried it. It's not a traditional southern recipe. It is like a Tex mex fusion and I was not a fan. Ambiance is great. I would recommend sitting outside if you can. There's a nice view of the Raleigh skyline. read more

I was really excited to try this spot but I was a little disappointed. The vibe of the restaurant was nice, they have a great outdoor area for drinking, eating and hanging out. The customer service was good. When we had to send an item back, they were accommodating. The food is where my disappointment came in. First, I'll talk about the item I had to send back. The Brussels sprouts are apparently a favorite but ours were oily and seemed to be burnt. The pimento cheese and fries were good. The fries were nice and crispy and the pimento cheese was definitely rich. I got the salmon bowl. The ingredients seemed to be fresh and the salmon was well cooked but it just lacked flavor. It felt like it was missing a sauce or some seasoning. I think that would have tied everything together and elevated the dish. Ventured to Wye Hill for restaurant week, which we thought sounded like the perfect place to grab a casual, yummy bite with a 3 month old. We showed up 30 minutes early and they were able to seat us immediately. Our waitress was outstanding - she had extremely honest feedback on the menu options, and all of it was spot on. For restaurant week, they had a set menu where you choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert (3 options for each). There was an optional beer pairing for each course, which my husband opted in for. We started with the mussels marinara and fig & pig flatbread. The stand-out appetizer was the flatbread - the actual bread was crisp on the outside with a fluffy interior, the pancetta was perfectly crisp and salty, which balanced nicely with the sweetness from the fig and pepperiness from the arugula. The mussels marinara was pretty good - nothing to write home about. The marinara itself was nicely balanced between tart and spicy. For entrees, we opted for the prime rib sandwich and chicken wye-sala. The prime rib sandwich was our favorite dish of the night - the prime rib itself with juicy, thin cut, and perfectly salted, and the truffle-horseradish aioli flavor was phenomenal with it (we just wish there was more aioli because it was so good!). The chicken wye-sala seemed to be their play on a chicken marsala but made with Wye Hill beer instead of wine. The chicken breast was tender and moist, but the dish as a whole was lacking salt. For dessert, we got the chocolate mousse cake and the apple crumble. The chocolate mousse cake was rich and decadent - the ganache added some moisture to a cake that was a tad on the dry side, but delicious nonetheless. The apple crumble was a pleasant surprise - it was more of a dense, moist apple cake with crunchy almond slices and it was absolutely scrumptious. A scoop of vanilla ice cream would have brought it over the edge. Wye Hill is a great place for views of downtown Raleigh, good beer and casual bites, and excellent service. We got here at 0401 and after 10 minutes of debating on what to get our order was placed. 15 mins later we were eating. Wye Hill burger farmers burger with side of bbq fries. and Childs grilled cheese. All the food was great. The bbq fries were really good however if you don't like spice I don't recommend for you. Great flavor and the sauce scallion ranch that comes with is really good. It does cut the heat a bit also. Service was fantastic as we were the only ones on the deck for outside seating. Visited on Feb 25, 2025 I visited Wye Hill for the first time for an early dinner with a friend. The outside patio was pretty popular, so we decided to sit inside which was quite empty, but we didn't mind. The dining room was very small but cute. We ordered the everything brussels and dill pickle pimento cheese to share. For the entree, we both ordered the black rice gran bowl, one with blackened salmon and the other with blackened shrimp. One thing I can say about the food is that looks can be deceiving. When the food came out everything looked amazing, however, there was a lack of flavor. The brussel sprouts came out to chared and the bottom of the bowl was filled with grease. We did enjoy the pimento cheese but wanted to save room for our entree. The entrees were just okay. Not memorable! I think a sauce to go on top would have helped a lot. read more

I went to Wye Hill with some friends for cocktails and apps. Good service, our server had drink and food recommendations for us, I went with his drink recommendation of smoke signals and it was delicious. The bbq fries surprised me, very yummy, not sure why the ranch was green but it was delicious so no complaints. My friend did say that she did not expect her deviled eggs to be sweet (to be fair the menu said they were made with sweet potatoes) but I still thought they were delicious. And ofc with a beautiful view of Downtown all under a patio full of fans for that's really made dining outside in the summer a great experience. I will definitely come back and hopefully try more out to give an even better review of this restaurant. read more
