Upon arrival I was immediately greeted and completed the necessary paperwork, while they pulled my NEW truck around. The truck I was issued was a 16 foot box truck and the truck had only 5k miles. The truck was absolutely the game changer. It had great A/C, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, legit inverters to charge everything, plenty of USB ports, OnStar, and even a backup camera and electric mirrors. I absolutely lucked out. I opted to use Penske for the reason that they offered a significant discount, which removed the possibility of me using U-Haul, Budget, or the like. Their service was top notch and the truck I had made all the difference. The only constructive criticism I can offer and I know this isn't industry standard; however, I would be willing to pay more for a truck that I could rent one way, which has a lift gate versus a loading ramp. Also, if there is any way to include trucks which have Bluetooth radios; that would seal the deal. If I need to relocate things again, I will absolutely look to Penske first for my rental truck needs. They made this transition EASY.

Its obvious that most of the time people rent this trucks to move, so they work the whole day then jump in to the truck, maybe smoke etc. It didnt smell like that, it was clean. Lastly the truck felt great, contrary to my next review whos truck run in 2nd gear until it gets to 50 mph to drain the gas tank, this ones felt almost new. The 4 stars is related to the price. The day before I was to move, I called u-haul to confirm my reservation ; only to find out that the equipment I chose to reserve was not going to be available at the location I had reserved at. ~Sidebar ~ Uhaul will send you to the next location that has the equipment you want to rent , even if it's 30 minutes out of your way . After learning this, I called Penske back, (forgetting that I had made a reservation previously ) and was greeted with the news that my reservation for the equipment I wanted to rent would be available the next day. The agent at Penske, Tori was courteous and very helpful. I explained to her what happened w/ uhaul, and she said that, She gets that all the time from walk ins who show up bc uhaul dropped the ball. On arrival the guy who helped me was acting very rude and inconvenienced that I was there for some service. Saying "I'll get to it when I have time" Came back out 15 minutes later saying my car wasn't set up to get a hitch installed and would not offer any suggestions and sent me away. We've extended our rental multiple times and tried to renew through the app and the 1-800 number since the store line rings endlessly without anyone answering. Every time we extended, we were overcharged, with no clear explanations, and were met with the manager's rude and dismissive attitude. The lack of professionalism, unnecessary hostile comments, and disregard for customer respect are unacceptable. After emailing U-Haul's customer service directly about these issues, they didn't bother to contact me but referred my complaint back to the general manager, who called me. Unfortunately, this call was even worse. The GM was incredibly unprofessional, taking my complaint personally and speaking with a noticeable level of aggression. He repeatedly interrupted me, questioned my honesty, and insisted that the fluctuating charges were just "estimates charged based on what the system felt was appropriate." He seemed to use the fact our card was declined as vindication for the attitude from "Jeanne" He even suggested that because we weren't allowed to renew through the app, we were somehow being dishonest "because that just doesn't make any sense" By the end of the call, I was left in tears. Luckily-I've recorded the call this time and shared it with the Better Business Bureau and my substantial social media platform, so others know what kind of customer service they can expect from this location. It's clear where the employees have picked up their disrespectful approach. I would strongly advise avoiding this location if you value respect, fair treatment, or clear communication from your rental provider.

And during both situations, their customer service and handling of the situation was appalling. In the first case, my wife and I were driving back from our Honeymoon and found out when we pulled into the lot that we could not store our camper because they had decided to resurface the lot. We checked our email for notification of this and found out that they emailed us 24 hours before they decided to start the construction. Since we lived in the city, we were forced to just unhitch our camper in a different location on their lot and come back on a later date. They did not help us at all or take any of our calls. In the second case, we had taken our camper out of their storage lot for repairs. When we picked it up from getting repaired, we immediately headed down to our vacation in Florida. It wasn't until we spent 14 hours driving home from Florida and pulled into our "24-hour" lot that we saw that our spot had a pile of gravel in it, and we could not park there. When we finally got ahold of the company, they reached out to the manager who had someone else on their team tell me that I must remove my self from the property at once and call back to solve it a different day. Since my wife and I live in the city, we were forced to drive another hour away to a relative's house where we could keep the camper safe in their driveway. The next day when I called back, they did not answer. I've left another message and they still haven't called. A member of their staff said that they had left a message with us and informed us that we have moved to another spot. None of that is true. I hope that no other person has to go through what we did and that you make the correct decision to store your camper elsewhere. There are so many better options like Engel's on the West Side or Anchor Self-storage right around the corner. Do yourself a favor and go with them instead of this horrific company.
