They kept me away from my fiancé drugged him and told me I could only speak w him on speakerphone…read more They ignored my calls when I was trying to contact Joseph about our severely I'll infant who was in and out of the hospital. I live in california I'm a nurse I'm aware of the "process" ... but this place is bad news. They told me it was an all male facility and it was actually coed. They only contacted me when joe had issues w his insurance . I will be filing a lawsuit against this facility for neglecting and isolating a vulnerable addict from his family and sick infant. This place makes me sick , and luckily I've got the brains to go after them and I will . I told Wendi the clinical director I wanted to speak to joe directly not on speakerphone about financial matters since he was fired while he was in there, she quickly stated in a rude tone, " don't come at me like that!" She is a psycho bitch . The therapist would call me before therapy sessions over the phone and tell me what I could tell joe and what I couldn't . That's not couples therapy if you don't address both lovers feelings. After reading the reviews and seeing how this place is it makes me sick. Joshua the recruiter is a liar as well told me only men at this facility as I flew him on my dime to Florida from california I wouldn't even give this place a star if it was an option Don't send someone you love here , just don't. They work hard to sabotage couples ruin your family, and treat worried family members like garbage. My sister is a lawyer and I contacted alcohol and drug rehab lawyer in Florida and I'm gonna do whatever I can to make them pay for neglecting this family and not informing joe or even giving him the letters the kids were writing him for support . This place is disgusting ,

BE WARNED: This review consists of 100% facts. Every "client" (which is how they referred to us)…read morewas lied to in order to get there. EVERYONE I spoke to said they signed their paperwork either drunk or high. The lies were brought up in one of our daily "meetings". A "therapist", Bella, said "that ain't got shit to do wit me", in response to that VERY valid complaint. LOTS of cursing from ALL staff & LOTS of bible thumping. I was in a crisis situation. I googled AA meetings in my area & ended up speaking to "veejay". He listened to me cry for 30 minutes & put me through to "Josh". Initially, he said he was a "recovery specialist" & he just helped people like me find aa meetings in their area out of the kindness of his heart. NEVER said he had any affiliation w serenity oaks. He listened to me cry for nearly an hour. Halfway into the conversation he sent me the YouTube video. He later mentions the place is in FL. He ensures me it's the best place for me, & a "flight wouldn't be an issue". I'm coming from R.I., I paid for ALL my flights. He said they had acupuncture, yoga, massages, chiropractors, delicious healthy food, beautiful scenery, clean & comfortable accommodations, daily therapy sessions & more. LIES. This is a farm w emaciated cows & ignored goats that are left outside all day & night to create mountains of shit. There are flies EVERYWHERE & maggots in the outdoor overflowing trash cans. The food was disgusting & often leftover from the day before. Dead fish in the road & flies in the refrigerator that lived on the animal shit right outside your door. Therapists not in for days at a time. Meetings involved being herded into rooms to color pictures from coloring books & reading aloud from google printouts. I'm a single parent of 11-yr-old twins. Initially, he said it was a 3-4 week program. That amount of time away from them was extremely difficult to consider, but these people fooled my whole family. It wasn't until I arrived that I found out it was actually a MINIMUM of 5 weeks; 30 days In addition to however many days they decide you need to be in the detox house, which they will extend or reduce NOT based on MEDICAL NEEDS, but based on how long your insurance will pay. Another thing I didn't realize until I arrived, is they would take away nearly ALL my belongings including most of my clothing, bc apparently the men there can't control themselves around modest shorts & tank tops. They took my cell phone & my prescribed medication & had me electronically sign forms on a computer screen I couldn't even see the night I arrived around midnight. I still have no idea what I signed. They drugged me w a combo of adavan, hydroxyzine, melatonin, anti-seizure medication, WAY too much antibiotics for a UTI (per my dr) & idk what else for the next 3 days of my "detox" where I lived w a dope fiend in a room that smelled of mold. Meds continued this way, twice, sometimes 3x a day, minus the adavan post detox. Trazadone & melatonin were added nightly to really knock me out. The hydroxyzine made me so constipated I was sent to hospital for a cat scan. There were also 6-7 MEN living in a house w me & my therapist KNEW I was a sexual abuse victim. I had to walk by these meth heads every time I went outside. One guy punched himself in the face & fell off of 3 steps right next to me nights before I left. That guy ALSO lived in a house with me. Cigarettes & vaping are HIGLY encouraged in this "wellness center", staff included. My throat hurt so much from the constant smoke I needed Lozenges. I said I wanted OUT on day 10 & was held prisoner for the next 48 hours because they said my decision to leave early from this VOLUNTARY PROGRAM was "against medical advice". I was unable to contact my family OR PCP during this time. I was told if I did call & any1 tried to get me a flight they'd hang up the phone. After 48 hours, they dropped me off at a hospital w sleeves of mainly hydroxyzine, the same drug that forced me into the hospital. That plus a dead cell phone & none of the medication I needed. My "therapist" Nicole, said this was the LAW, and that I was the one who was putting MYSELF in danger by making the decision to leave early. They were VERY diligent in absolving themselves completely from any sort of liability should something happen to me. My PCP said I should file a report w the health dept in FL & I plan on doing just that. Today is June 10th, I just got home last night. Thank GOD I found a flight, for all they care I could be DEAD. I saw my wonderful PCP today & she was in shock when she heard what happened. Her jaw hit the floor when I pulled out the sleeves of meds they left me with. I still feel high & jittery from all these drugs. My first night home my heart was beating through my chest & I thought I was dying. I am TRAUMATIZED by this experience - STAY AWAY!
