Upon realizing I could not afford this amount and after finding the same prescription available at a lower cost elsewhere, I requested a paper prescription. To my surprise, I was informed that he could not provide a paper prescription until he confirmed the medication's effectiveness, which meant I was compelled to purchase it from their pharmacy. After 45 days, I would need to return for another visit to assess the medication's efficacy before receiving a paper prescription to fill elsewhere. After I left, my wife called the office only to be told that I had been rude during my visit, which was not the case; I had been apologetic about my inability to purchase the medication from them. When my wife spoke to the vet, he claimed he would have provided a paper prescription had I not left immediately upon mentioning I could find it cheaper elsewhere. He then stated that if I returned, the prescription would be available at the front desk, which closes at 4:30 PM. My mother kindly offered to retrieve the prescription, believing it would be waiting for us. However, upon her arrival, Dr. Khorsand insisted that she purchase the $184 medication from them first, reiterating that he needed to confirm its effectiveness before issuing a paper prescription. He also made disparaging remarks about my wife during their conversation. The entire experience was utterly frustrating. Previously, we had purchased costly medication from their pharmacy, yet there were no records of our dog, Cole, when we returned. I have never encountered a veterinary office that withholds prescriptions from clients unless they have purchased them directly. The doctor seemed more interested in arguing and asserting that we were rude than in providing professional care. While I must commend the front office staff for their kindness, Dr. Khorsand's conduct was unprofessional and indicative of someone whose compensation may be tied to the volume of prescriptions sold. If you have the option to choose another veterinary office, I strongly recommend considering it. I do not frequently leave negative reviews, but this experience was one I would not wish upon anyone. We paid over $300 for a consultation with Dr. Khorsand, who did not even examine my dog, and for medication that I could have obtained at our preferred pharmacy for half the cost. I will never return to this office and feel sorry for any future animals who may be under Dr. Khorsand's care.

About three weeks later, on a Saturday, I was able to pick up my little girl at the place which is located inside Bohemian National Cemetery. You can tell that Bob really cares about all the animals that come through his door. To the wonderful ceremony and especially to the part that I was especially fighting tears over: the little rubber ducky who would be Sophie's best friend in heaven. I had been a loyal customer at Complete Dog for a while and always trusted them with my dog. The day after her appointment, I noticed a cut and called the groomer right away to ask what happened. They denied any responsibility and showed no concern. I took her to the vet, and when they saw the cut, they told us to bring her in almost immediately because they were worried it could be infected. After examining her, they said it likely could've happened at the groomer. The owner refunded the vet bill--but called it a "courtesy" and still denied anything happened under their care. They also refused to refund the grooming, saying they should still be paid because the haircut was "completed." My dog was hurt, and all they seemed to care about was getting paid. The way I was treated as a customer was cold, rude, and completely unprofessional. This was an incredibly upsetting experience, and I would never want another pet owner or pet to go through what we did. Please think twice before taking your dog to Complete Dog.

I returned to get my dog groomed, even though our previous groomer, Charlie, no longer works there. Instead, we got Brian. I was told he had been grooming dogs for 20 years and was assured he would be great. Well, when we arrived, I explained that I wanted my dog's hair cut down to 1/2 inch left. I explained that I was emphasizing that I wanted it to be 1/2" long because in the past I've told groomers that, but they'd left it longer, so I wanted to make sure Brian understood what I wanted. Still, Brian looked confused. So then he brought out a tool that they use to determine what clipper size to use - it had one inch rulers on it, so I able to point to exactly how long I wanted it on the ruler. Still Brian looked confused. He suggested that we go in the back and run the clippers through my dog's hair so I could tell him if it was right or not. I declined because my dog has severe separation anxiety and it would be worse for my dog if we didn't just do a clean break and have me leave from the front. So we talked more about the fact that I wanted my dog's hair to be a half inch long, pointed again to the inch marker and to the half-inch line, and told Brian that I needed him - as the professional - to know what clipper size to use. I figured even if he chose the wrong one to start with, then he would be able to see and determine if the hair was the right length or not, and change the clipper attachment as needed so that it would leave 1/2" on my dog. I was wrong. When I picked him up, his hair was one and a half inches long! Brian said that my dog was having a hard time standing, so I asked if that had been a problem, but Brian said no. At the time, I was with my friend and did not want to make a scene, but I also didn't have another 2-3 hours to stay and have Brian fix it. So we left. When I got home, I measured to make sure it wasn't my imagination. It wasn't. Sure enough, the length of his hair was 1.5 inches long - an ENTIRE INCH LONGER than I'd very specifically explained repeatedly with Brian. Because my dog has such bad separation anxiety, I did not want to bring him back to Brian and have it redone another day. Instead, after paying $91 ($15 of which was a tip) to get my dog professionally groomed, I re-did the whole thing myself. Of course it's choppy and doesn't look fantastic, but it was better than putting my dog through another visit to the groomer.
