Dr Sarah and her team are the best. We've been having a very emotional 3 weeks with our pet Koi fish, Beyoncé the matriarch of the fish pond. She was about 26" long, 13 Lbs and 18 years old. She had been on her side at the bottom of the pond so we suspected she had swim bladder. We also knew that she most likely wouldn't make it thru hibernation season. Not knowing where to turn for a vet who would do a "pond call" for a very large fish, we found Dr Sarah! We are grateful for her incredible compassion and responsiveness to our needs. She diagnosed Beyoncé with several issues and assured us we were doing the most humane thing we could do for her. Most people don't realize how smart and what great pets Koi fish can be. After 18+ years with these guys and as crazy as it may sound, they are part of the family. Thank you Dr Sarah and AT!

Dr. Sarah came today to help us with the day I've been dreading forever. My 13 year old Pitbull, Hawk, was ready to pass on and I've always known I did not want to take any of my dogs to a cold, scary vets office for their last moment of life. I contacted Dr. Sarah Thursday evening to ask if she could come on Saturday and she responded promptly and was very caring. We put Hawk on a blanket in the back yard under a tree with his favorite toy and sat with him, petting him while he was administered the injections. She told us the process as we went along as well as what to expect during the process. She was very kind and comforting and even though I dread going through this again with my other dogs, I will be calling her again when the time comes because it was the best and most comforting way we could go through this.

Dr. Sarah is the best. This was the toughest experience we have ever had in our lives. Dr. Sarah checked out our pup before putting him down, she then allows you to be with him if you choose. I can't thank her enough for the care and professionalism we received with Baxter. I hope to never have to do this again, but if we do Dr. Sarah is the person.

Dr. Hadzik was so compassionate and kind. She came to our home and helped us say our final goodbye to our sweet boy, Myron. We did not want his final moments to be in an office where he would be scared. This was such a great option for us. I found LastKissAtHone on the internet and my husband and I were do glad. She was so gentle with my cat. He had no discomfort at all. She worked around our comfort as we are both disabled. For a sad day, this was the easiest way this could have happened. Thank you Dr. Sarah, we are so grateful to you!

I am so grateful for Dr. Sarah Hadzic taking my call late afternoon recently and saying yes she could help us. Our 16.5 year dog was suffering and sadly needed to be put to sleep. My own vet was closed and other in-home vets offered me appointments the next day or two. I didn't want to see our dog suffer until the next day. Dr. Sarah came promptly when she told me she would and was very kind and compassionate. She listened to stories about our family and dog. She told us to have our son join by FaceTime to be with us and our dog for her final moments. Doctor told us what she was doing during each step and what we could expect. Her rate was reasonable as well. I hope to see her again when we get a new dog and she can take care of our healthy dog.

I have a strong sense of gratitude for those who help our pets pass on to the next world and how emotional it is for all. I just moved to Chicago a few months ago and Dr. Sarah made me feel like I was with a friend while she helped my little Roxy cat, friend of 17 years pass on. It can be a lonely thing losing a pet when ur alone bc no one else really appreciates or knows them. But I felt much less lonely with Dr. Sarah who had empathetic and soothing words. She explained everything as we went along. I appreciate that she was able to come out here on short notice I called just in the morning and didn't want my kitty to suffer and she came as soon as she was able too. She helped me a lot in going through this.

Misspelled my dogs name.. it's BIGGIE, not Baggie.

That was not done and guess what? An email that went to my Junk folder on the day of the appointment at 5:30am isn't getting read by me on the day I'm euthanizing a beloved pet in my life for 13 years. I'm spending the day with him, He literally started eating 1.5 hours before the appointment. Weeks of eating next to nothing was why I made this painful decision -after he had an undiagnosed issue and numerous vet visits. You were cheaper than the corporate owned "Laps of Love," I had to use 5 months ago, thats about all I'll give you. From initial phone call to compassion to payment arrangements and policies they ran circles around you. I intentionally chose your company bc I wanted to move away from big corporate. So when my dog started eating right before the appointment, I called to cancel. I have never been this unsure with any other dog. I was met with "it's okay to cancel. Call us back if it changes, but we have a $150 cancellation fee, so I'll need your credit card" is how the conversation ends- you will not be the place I call when this decision is made. I've no issue paying cancellation fees when clearly stated and reasonable. On the other hand, I won't be subjected to emotional blackmail fees that are snuck by the consumer. Thanks for making an emotional time that much more unpleasant.

I had to bring my 15 year cat, Renée, in for Anemia after my primary vet (@ Broadway Animal Hospital - word of warning - stay away) caused some pelvic fractures while performing surgery. MedVet Doctors told me the positives doing something and also any negatives. For example the Anemia needed a transfusion (positive), but the pelvic fractures may have a leakage, which will effect have the transfusion may help (negative). They kept me informed during the 3 days, 2 nights (2 days & 1 night in ICU) she was there. The staff give great care for Renée and allowed me to visit her before and after my work days. The entire staff showed Renée empathy and mentioned how beautiful she is. You cannot ask for a more caring place for your four legged companion. Four stars were given and not 5, because I found that follow-up calls were badly handled even after I called them. And how they handled the Pathology (about the cancerous lump) information from my primary vet was definitely a negative. But after those two weeks, Renée is back to her routines of walking with me down a hallway (now with a limp), eating her daily meals, and just being a happy cat. Her positivity in dealing with all this is amazing.

After approximately $6,000 in veterinary bills and multiple procedures, Bunny's condition was not improved--in our experience, she was left worse off than when we started. We trusted Dr. Matos and MedVet with Bunny because we believed we were putting her in the hands of specialists who could help her breathe more comfortably. Instead, after everything Bunny was put through physically--the procedures, recovery, medications, repeated visits, and stress--she is still struggling with significant breathing noise and honking. Watching an animal you love go through invasive treatment only to end up worse is devastating. What makes this especially upsetting is that we followed the medical recommendations given to us and spent thousands of dollars doing so. At this point, even our regular veterinarian has advised us not to return to MedVet, and we are now pursuing another specialist for Bunny because her problems remain unresolved. I deeply regret allowing Bunny to undergo this course of treatment. I feel that she went through an enormous amount physically without receiving the outcome we were led to hope for, and our family has been left dealing with both the consequences and an approximately $6,000 bill. I am requesting that MedVet formally review Bunny's entire case and provide an appropriate refund for the care and procedures that failed to resolve her condition and, from what we have observed, left her worse. Bunny is not a bill or a case number. She is a beloved member of our family. We trusted this hospital and Dr. Matos with her health and quality of life, and I am profoundly unhappy with the result. I would strongly encourage anyone considering treatment here--particularly an invasive procedure--to ask extensive questions about expected outcomes, complications, alternative treatments, and what happens financially if the procedure does not improve the animal's condition.

We took our cat to Premier Vet Group, 3927 W Belmont Ave, Chicago; he was whisked to a back room due to open mouth breathing. We were periodically informed of costs for tests, etc. during our 5+ hours in their freezing cold facility. Eventually they determined, after bloodwork, xrays, ultrasound and more, our cat had asthma and should stay overnight for observation. The bill for Monday was approximately $1700 and it would be an additional $1800 for overnight observation. I declined the overnight observation, agreed to our cat being given fluids prior to taking him home, he had been sedated due to being upset with what was being done to him. It was decided that the prednisolone our cat received for pemphigus foliaceus should be increased and follow up with our vet. Once we took our cat home and he relaxed overnight his breathing improved a little but he was sneezing and his nose was congested. On Wednesday 07-08-2026 I spoke to our regular vet, she said I could pick up doxycycline for $13.00 to treat our cat for 6 days and bring him in 07-15-2026. Our cat's nose cleared up and he was generally back to normal by the time I took him in on 07-15-2026 and after the vet examined him she couldn't find a sign of asthma and we continued to reduce the amount of prednisolone back to what he had been on for his autoimmune condition. In the meantime Premier kept texting and emailing me for a review; I sent a message that before I left a bad review they should contact me, they never did. As a lifelong cat owner, I understand that tests need to be done but it is also important to listen to an owner and actually examine the animal, see that it's nose is congested and prescribe accordingly. I will NEVER return to "Premier" Vet Group or suggest anyone take their pet there. If necessary, I will chose an Emergency Vet that at the very least lets the owner be with their pet during a 5+ hour scary experience that probably made him worse overall because he was scared! Dr. Shanan helped us say goodbye to another beloved dog in 2021, and since then I've known that if we ever faced this situation again, this is the kind of care I would want for our pets. The entire staff was wonderful. I called countless times for medication refills and schedule changes, and every single interaction was met with patience and kindness. And a very special thank you to our nurse, Irene, who spent many hours helping us navigate the rollercoaster of Zooey's conditions. Her knowledge, patience, and compassion meant so much to us. She has a sense of humor and a wonderfully matter-of-fact way of explaining difficult things that made overwhelming conversations feel manageable. We knew this would be a good fit from the first intake call where both Kim and Dr. Shanan really took their time to understand goose and us, what we were going thru and what we needed to transition deliberately and gently. We settled on a plan with weekly nurse visits, as needed virtual check ins, emergency calls, and emergency kit, and a few at home procedures. We learned how to administer IV fluids, a mountain load of pills and supplements (the herbal supplements probably gave goose back a few months of walking, healing the sores on his feet from liver degradation as if magically), and even how to massage him in certain places. The at home procedures were hours long and hard, but their team of three came prepared with skill, patience, and compassion. Kims weekly visits provided a touchstone of care and a place to make sure meds and care was up to date. Coupled with on call virtual visits, we felt we had what we needed (and having the emergency kit was also an immense comfort) On the night of Goose's passing, Dr. Shanan knew exactly the right disposition to support gooses transition, and our grieving. It was a beautiful and heartbreaking evening but I experienced a lot of peace because of his care. I hope I receive as much care as Goose did on the day I transition! We feel incredibly fortunate to have found this team to help us navigate a very challenging few months and will absolutely utilize these services in the future when needed. My gratitude is overflowing.
