If the design + planning process was as great as the construction/final product, we'd offer 5-star review. In short: If you're executing an exceedingly simple project, maybe this company is fine for you. After all, the construction went well and we love our pool so far! If you care about a stellar & rigorous design process with great mockups, and fast, thorough communication--then find a company that offers a dedicated design/planning project manager for Pre-construction (not just a Construction-Phase project manager). We had multiple generous onsite visits up front, so that we could ask lots of questions. After we signed a contract, the process worsened. Instead of being supported by a dedicated Project Manager for the massive pre-construction/design phase, we were communicating directly with one of the company's super-busy owners. No hard feelings and we wish everyone at TTP well! Their operation needs more support for planning, design, communication, and pre-construction phases. Here's where we struggled with our project: 1) Communication: When we first contacted the company, they told us they couldn't offer a built-in hot tub. At an onsite visit months later (5/22) they said the same--and suggested we just buy a heater and heat the entire pool. We declined. Weeks later, we signed a contract, and right after that, we randomly saw on their social media a project with a built-in hot tub. Which required a re-design process. 2) Planning and pricing info: * In July, we agreed to a final pool + deck design. In August, we asked if we could make the pool 1 foot longer, and 1 foot deeper--and asked how that would impact the project. In all the communications during August, no one responded with a cost or cost-estimate. Three months passed. No mention of an estimate. * Months later, in mid November--right before construction and in a hurry to begin--they revealed that the size change increased the price by more than $9,000 dollars :/ * Simultaneously, the deck portion of our project was canceled. Because during that same week--just before construction--we luckily met with a random landscaper that had worked with Texas Tiny Pools. We showed the landscaper the plans and they flagged that the deck would conflict with a key walkway on our property. * When we expressed worry and concern about the late-game communication on pricing, enlarged overall cost, and problematic deck plan--Texas Tiny Pools offered a short apology, a lengthy defense, and said that they'd waive their design-change fee and allow us to cancel the deck without a fee. It helped bring the cost back down, but the sliding deck was literally the only reason we worked with them to begin with, so that was disappointing. 3) Design details: The third and last issue was just a minor design disappointment. We paid extra for a tiled accent wall. The installers did a nice job laying all the tile... but when we asked how they planned to conceal the less-finished looking edges of the accent tile--they said they had no plan of concealing those edges, because we didn't buy the special "edging pieces." As customers who've never built or designed a hot tub, I can't imagine why we'd be expected to know that a special finishing/edging type of tile should have been included in the tile order. TTP should develop some design "intake forms" to catch details like that.

This is my first pool, so I came into this pretty uneducated and Shane was very patient with me during the entire project, explaining the process and what to expect. He is an extremely experienced pool builder and beyond professional and responsive. He makes you feel like you're the only customer he has and follows through even after the pool build is finished. If you want a high-quality gorgeous pool, you must hire this company. Builder Selection Shane and his staff were extremely patient as I tried to align the very differing proposals, breaking costs down as I requested. His proposal was easy to understand and was straightforward, not hiding costs in various categories as most of the other builders did. I felt I got a very fair estimate. While their proposal was not the lowest, I chose them because I felt very comfortable with Shane, his knowledge and he's just an overall really nice guy. Another reason I chose them was because he was the only builder to submit the design to our HOA without my even asking! He kept me informed as the process with them progressed. Design I already had a pool design done by another builder but wanted to get estimates from other builders. I called five and Shane was the first to to respond. We met that week and I was very impressed by his professionalism. He looked at our design, asked really good questions about the pool and how we thought we would use it. He also made some suggestions that had to do with the actual usability of the pool. He took the paper based plans and some screen shots and recreated the design using his own pool design software. We had several design meetings either at his office or at my home. He patiently tweaked the details as well as the bigger things until we were satisfied with the design and the materials. Build Shane managed this project like clockwork and the only time the progress slowed down was due to weather. He kept me informed of who was coming when and what was expected to be accomplished in that given time. His contractors were very skilled, polite and was respectful of our property. The project wasn't trouble free by any means but at each step, Shane oversaw the work being done, making changes either at my request or because he wasn't satisfied. None of which were charged to us. Shane and his staff were so responsive to all of my questions, concerns and me calling him and telling him that one of the pool walls wasn't being done to design, he stopped the work and redid it to design. There's so much more to write but that would make this review too long to want to read. Our pool is amazing and we're extremely happy with the result. Also I didn't feel that once the pool was finished Shane would disappear. In fact, he's still very responsive when we have a question or trouble with the equipment. I would highly recommend Capital! Shane and his staff are honest, knowledgeable, demand high quality from the contractors and I can't say enough about their responsiveness.

I was a big fan of Powerhouse Pools prior to the new management taking over. You can tell by my…read moreprior review. Since the new team has taken over, it has been an extremely painful experience. In a nutshell, they abandoned servicing my pool with no notice. I emailed three times and did not receive any response and saw my pool turn for the bad (see pics) over those three weeks. I then get a text message saying that they had stop servicing my neighborhood as one of their technicians had left. The only excuse of this text coming so late was that they had typo'd on my cell number. While I totally understand that these things happen, what I would have expected that they leave us with the pool in good shape so that we do not have to incur the additional cost of turning over the pool. In addition to that, they are expensive compared to the market and not a great service. They always left our pool with debris at the bottom. The business owner really does not show professionalism and just really difficult to work with. Adam (the primary technician) puts in the effort but not just not been able to get the pool to how most other pool servicing companies deliver results. Fallon (the business owner) just does not seem capable or responsible for dealing with customers. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend these folks any more and its a shame to see a small business like this go from a great reputation to abysmal customer service levels.

Would not recommend…read more We hired them for weekly pool service and kept them for around 8 months before they 'quit' due to me calling them out for unprofessionalism. Specifically, I have security cameras on my driveway and pool so could see when they would come to service the pool. Many service visits would be less than 10 minutes. A couple months in to the service relationship, we experienced our first no-call-no-show. We received no email about the missed visit and so I inquired and asked for a refund for the missed week. They gave me a refund for that week. Then a few months later, it happened again. No email telling me why the visit was missed. I emailed them saying that it was unprofressional and I shouldn't have to be micro-managing, checking every week whether the service was done, and I expected a refund again for the missed week. The owner replied in a very defensive way, implying I had not read the service agreement sufficiently ... "As clearly stated in the agreement, our company observes four scheduled holidays, during which regular service does not occur. December 30 falls within that holiday period, so no service was scheduled for that week." However, after re-reading the agreement, it stated that the week of Christmas was one of the holiday weeks, and Dec 30 did not fall on that week. So the owner was flat out wrong about this. They also said that I "received at least two additional service visits beyond what is contractually included, at no charge ... those visits were provided as a courtesy" which not a reasonable excuse for missing a visit without notice. Ultimately, they stated "No services were missed that fall outside the terms of the contract, and no refund is due for the week in question" which is a false assertion. When I questioned the two courtesy visits (which I had not recorded myself), they stated one of them was "An additional service visit in July, resulting in five total visits that month." The service agreement clearly stated that I (the client) pay monthly, and the service we receive is weekly visits. So this "courtesy" visit was not actually a courtesy visit at all. It was an expectation. Finally they stated "to bring this service relationship to a clear and orderly conclusion, we will schedule your final service visit for [...]" which was a "you can't fire me because I quit!" way of handling it all. Rather than apologize to the customer for a missed visit, they: - got defensive and tried to imply I hadn't read the terms of my agreement - made false assertions Unprofessional and dishonest. Edit: The owner already replied to this review in the same tone used in the emails ... "your pool was consistently maintained in accordance with that agreement" ... it's almost as if they've been to small claims court before and now choose their words carefully to never imply wrongdoing. As it stands, I never received a service visit the week *after* Christmas even though I should have per the service agreement. Just know that if you hire this company, your experience will not be hands off.

The design and details (tile, coping, etc) were documented and so the journey began. Cody provided step-by-step details in both a binder and constant transparent communications. The build went smoothly and pool is awesome. Jody was the project manager and was consistently on-site to manage the many contractors from dig to operational. Both Mike and Jody were an awesome tandem who took all of the normal anxiety out of build process. With zero weather delays, the pool was operational in less than 2 mos. With Pool school included, I have the confidence of managing the operation and cleaning. With their warranty, I have peace of mind. Nicely done.
