I am fortunate not to get sick very often but I've had to use urgent care twice, once on a weekend and today because I couldn't get in to my regular physician for a week. I have chronic sinus issues but haven't had a sinus infection in a couple of years until last Friday. I should have recognized the symptoms but I kept hoping it wasn't too bad and I wouldn't need to seek medical attention. Wrong. I called my regular doctors office and was told he was booked until next week and I was absolutely not going to wait that long. I went to the Complete Urgent Care clinic about 945AM, signed in and waited. It took about 30 minutes to get into an exam room, a not unreasonable amount of time considering I walked in without an appointment. Nurse Kelly was very pleasant and took my vitals. A few minutes after that Dr Van Delden came in to complete my exam. He took a brief medical history, listened to my lungs and heart and checked my ears and throat. He was very attentive and has a gentle, comforting manner. He confirmed what I thought, sinus infection, and prescribed accordingly. This location is only about 5 minutes from my home so I see no reason I wouldn't use it again if I ever need to. read more

I went to the Bulverde location. This place is wonderful! Everyone is so professional and caring. I always receive such great care when ever I go here and I have been here several times! I recommend this place to anyone who needs an emergency clinic but does not want to deal with the hassle of a big emergency room at a hospital. I walked (barely) into Complete Emergency Care with severe back pain thinking it was an urgent care facility. I was surprised & thankful to find out it's a full on Emergency Room. I didn't have a wait & they brought me a wheel chair when they saw I was having trouble walking. I was seen quickly by Dr. Vu who is the coolest doctor I've ever met. He was so knowledgeable & honest in his initial assessment of me. I have to admit I was in so much pain I was grouchy with him but it didn't even phase him. He explained everything they were going to do but first he got me some pain meds because I was in agony. His bedside manner was wonderful. The nurse, Jerry, was AMAZING!!!! I'm terrified of needles & dread IV insertion because my veins roll but he nailed it & I didn't feel a thing. Jerry is so funny & personable he had me laughing so much which really lifted me up out of the bad mood I'd been in from my back pain. Jerry explained the medications to me thoroughly & made sure I understood everything he was putting in the IV. I received the best care with Dr. Vu & Jerry that I will never go to a regular ER ever again. read more

This place was amazing from start to finish. I called into make sure they took my insurance which they did. So I was one happy sick person. Once i arrived i was greeted with a Hello and have you been here before. I filled out some paper work , and waited about five minutes before i was taking into a room to get my vital signs. Once inside the room the nurse was fast and friendly. I was given access to my own remote and TV while I was waiting for the doctor to come in. It must have been maybe ten minutes and he walked into to go over my symptoms. He was very easy to talk to and answered all my question. Well it turns out I just had a sinus , and ear infection. So I waited a few minutes for the next nurse to come and give me my shots and my discharge papers. Now that was fast. When I arrived home I felt a lot better. I'm glad I made the trip to complete emergency care if not I'm sure I would still be sick today. I would I go back if I had to. Plus it open 24 hours. read more

Seriously these people are life savers! I had a really bad infection from a cut on my leg and Dr. Vu saw me right away he was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. within minutes he was cutting and draining out the nasty stuff inside my wound. it was def painful but he was very very comforting... not to mention Kay the nurse is awesome!! Needed some urgent attention because I couldn't breathe. Went to see them at their culebra & 1604 location. Was seen almost immediatly. They checked me out and diagnosed me within 20 minutes. I went to Complete Emergency Care and received the best service! The nurse on duty, Juan, is a great guy. He's friendly, funny, and good at what he does. He even remembered me from my last visit! This was the first time I've seen Dr. Seriel, and I was very impressed. He wasted no time coming in to see me, and had wonderful bedside manner. The staff here is amazing and excellent they have always helped my mom but recently we took my grandmother and she had an extremely low heart rate and even though they didn't accept her insurance they still helped her. They stabilized her so she could be moved to an emergency room and they didn't charge us anything, and they did alot of stuff to help raise her heart rate before she was transfered to the ER. You really don't see that nowadays people that actually love their job and really want to help people so I say this place deserves more than 5 stars they deserve a million stars because they helped us and they were so kind and so nice and patient and explained everything to us. read more

I was visiting San Antonio this past week and developed bronchitis. Checking my trusty iphone, I learned that this clinic was less than 4 miles from where I was staying. So Friday morning, 4/12/2013, I drive up there. I walked in and immediately pulled out my Medicare card along with my other insurance card. The person at the front desk asked what my primary insurance was; I told her Medicare. (I thought everyone who worked in the medical field knew that!) At that point in time she told me that they didn't accept Medicare as of January 1. Well, that came as a surprise because their web site NEVER mentioned that. Out of the kindness of her heart (sarcasm here), she offered to give me the names of other clinics in the area. What a waste of time and effort! Finally got treated when I returned home. I went here yesterday because I had a sore throat cough and congestion for over 3 days. The staff and doctors and nurses were very friendly and prompt. I didn't even have to wait to be seen. When this place first opened, it was very fast and efficient. I loved coming in here because I was sure I would be "in and out" in about 30 minutes. The doctors took the time to explain what was happening and why. It recently transformed into a full blown emergency center. Since that has happened my family has been there twice and both times we have been there about 3 hours plus. The last time I was there, the doctor we got was clueless. He looked about 10 years old, probably graduated from medical school the day before and he just said " I'm not sure, follow up with your pediatrician". Charged me 200 dollars for that!! Really?! I should have just waited and gone to the pediatrician to begin with. To top things off... since their transformation, they are now out of network with my insurance and they didn't care to warn me. I found out when I saw the huge close to 2000.00 dollar bill that my insurance did not pick up. I will be finding a new place to take my kids. That is for sure! read more

I have been to the the Complete Emergency Care on Culebra in the past and have had really good experiences. However, the last time I went about 2 weeks ago with an extreme sore throat I saw Dr. Solley. He spent about 10 seconds with me, looked in my throat, and said it was allergies. He prescribed cough medicine (for a sore throat??) and some over the counter allergy medicine. After 2 days, my throat was worse so I went back to the clinic and saw Dr. Solley again. After I complained about the service I received the first time, they at least did a throat swab. Dr. Solley spent more time with me but not to try and help me feel better. He spent the time telling me that doctors are not miracle workers and I just need to wait it out. He said eventually the virus will go away and until then I have to pretty much suffer through it. This is what my $200.00 office visit paid for. Needless to say, my throat is still sore after 2 weeks and I am still suffering through it. Thank you, Dr. Solley, for taking my money and skipping to the bank while I wait it out. *** On a side note, a couple of days ago my partner started having the same symptoms I did. She went to this same clinic and saw another doctor. He also said it was allergies but prescribed an antibiotic for her sore throat and gave her 2 injections at the office visit. Someone needs to tell these idiots to change their website. My regular doctor moved to a new medical group, the group wants to treat me as a new patient and make me wait 8 weeks for an appointment. That's a whole other review that I will be getting to, Dr SantosCoy, formerly of Gonzaba. But back to these Urgent Idiots, I do some research online and liked what they had to say about taking patients in so I decided to go with them. I even downloaded and filled out the intake form in advance. I walk in, ask if I can be seen, the girl gives me this really fast mumble that i totally didn't catch but it had to do with them changing to just an ER only. She saw the forms I had brought with me and told me they were old forms, except that I printed them out that day, hhhmmm... Then told me they would charge me full price with minimum being $199. When she stopped to answer the phone, I left. I get so tired of 15 year old front office med clinic employees running patients off. If you are going to change the way you do business, that's your business, but the first thing you should do is change the way you advertise, instead of making people feel stupid for not knowing something they could not have known in the first place. First the receptionist was allready being rude when we came in place was empty no one in there at all! We do not have insurance but my head was busted open and we did have the money to pay she quoted $150.00 to see docter we stated not a problem we went back with 5 minutes. Nurse came in right away took temp and blood pressure asked a couple of questions and left room. ONE hour later docter finally came in really didnt even look much at the cut above my eye. Right away wanted to do a CTscan. I told him no it was ok I just needed to get stiches, he didnt say anything just threw his gloves in trash can and walked out of the room not one word. 10 minutes later here comes the receptionist into our room telling me ok I told you it was 150.00 to see the docter and it will be 350.00 for the stiches so 500.00 and they wanted to make sure we were ok with paying that we said yes we did have the money to pay it was the problem. After she left the room and my husband and I both were getting upset with how we were being treated we rejected them doing the work all together. There is just weird vibes from everyone there and it was like no one wanted to work. Why else would it have taken the docter a hour to come into the room when they had not one other patient in building. you could here them all around the nurse station laughing and having a good time. We have been there before and docters seemed strange but we were ok with the place never ever again will we go there!!!! read more

Avoid Dr. Malcolm Sulley at all costs! I have been to this facility multiple times and have had wonderful experiences. This last time, unfortunately, was the worst medical experience I have ever had. I brought my 4 month old in with a fever of 101.7 and an ear infection ( I knew this because I have an otoscope from my older son having chronic ear infections and was trained by his pediatrician to identify without making a trip to the office). The doctor started to examine him, all basic triage, and then looked in his ears and said all he can see is hair and wax....No attempt to look at the actual ear drum to see if there is indeed an infection or try to clean the ear out so he can see. My son is an infant, therefore the ear canal will be small! After this he said that he was from Europe and began with a 5 minute diatribe on how Americans abuse antibiotics and now there are so many antibiotic resistant strains. His actual words were 'I am not being stingy with antibiotics, just saying we should ride it out'. I have a 15 year old nephew with 75% hearing loss from 'riding out' ear infections, so excuse me if I am not willing to put my infant son at risk. My son was in pain and had an illness, and I was belittled for trying to get care for him. read more
