I had a car accident on a weekend holiday and was fortunate that my son was able to drop me off. While the wait was explained to me may take an hour, I had to be seen with my severe pain. They are able to handle injuries well, efficient with what type of paperwork needs to be filled out. They were all compassionate and very accommodating it helped me not to have a considerable breakdown. Ct and xray were done and all the staff, from the reception to the nurse and especially the Ed doctor was so caring and proficient. My pain was taken cared of and so grateful they're open on a holiday where most of all the establishments are closed. read more

This review is for Dr. Zachariah Patrick I brought my daughter to this stand-alone ER for respiratory distress, and our experience with Dr. Patrick was very concerning. She was showing clear signs of increased work of breathing, including belly breathing, visible retractions, and complaints of chest and back pain with breathing. Her heart rate was 151, her respiratory rate was elevated, and her oxygen saturation was around 93%. As her parent, my biggest concern was how quickly her condition could worsen, and the possibility of her progressing into respiratory arrest. A paramedic had previously noted wheezing, yet Dr. Patrick stated her lung sounds were clear and did not appear concerned by how hard she was visibly working to breathe. I suggested that albuterol might help open her airway, but he told me it is only used for people with asthma, and no breathing treatment was offered. During the visit, he asked if she was up to date on her vaccines, and I answered no. After that, his tone noticeably changed, and the interaction no longer felt objective or supportive. When I explained that I would prefer for her to be seen by my clinical professor, who specializes in pediatrics as a nurse practitioner, he responded by saying there was "no such thing" as a nurse practitioner specializing in anything." At that point, I made the decision to leave. As I was walking out with my daughter, he made a comment in the hallway, in front of staff, saying "maybe you should vaccinate your kids." That was unprofessional, inappropriate, and completely unnecessary. As a nursing student, I have been taught that medical professionals should leave personal biases outside of the patient's room and remain aware of their own biases when providing care. In this situation, that standard was not met. Instead, it felt like my child's care was influenced by judgment, and the comment about vaccines was thrown in my face rather than handled professionally. I spend a significant amount of time in clinical settings shadowing nurses and have seen a range of bedside manners. Unfortunately, this was the worst bedside manner I have personally experienced. Parents bring their children to the ER expecting professionalism, compassion, and objective care. I left feeling that my daughter's respiratory distress was minimized and that the overall interaction lacked the level of care any patient deserves. I would not recommend this provider based on my experience with him. That said, this review does not reflect the practice as a whole. The nurse, paramedics, and Debbie who helped me were all amazing, and I truly appreciated the kindness and professionalism they showed during a very stressful situation. read more

She called me 4 days later and said it was taken care of. We shall see. I went to The Emergency Center at Alamo Ranch on the 26th of April for bronchitis. I've had bronchitis enough in my life to know the symptoms. I told the doctor I had bronchitis he wanted a flu test, as well as Covid test done. Then he wanted x-rays. He gave me a Z-Pak after asking me what I normally get for my bronchitis. The Z-Pak was given to me there. I started taking it per his instructions and four hours later I had a rash on my body. I called them and was told to wait for a return call that never came. So I went up there at 10:30 pm to show the doctor I had a reaction. He told me to stop taking Z-Pak and they gave me a Benadryl! Doctor also told me that they would not bill me twice since it was a reaction to the medicine they had given me and visit was in same day. Four days later I received two separate statements with two separate visits both having 2 separate total amounts. My part (I have Medicare & BCBS) was $7000 on 1 statement and $4000 on the other. Absolutely not. I googled the local emergency rooms in the surrounding areas and found this location had the best reviews and from the pictures online, it seemed like a new facility. Upon my arrival, there were no cars in the parking lot, no one in the waiting room, and only one person at the front desk. She didn't even look up from the counter, she only asked me what I was here for. I began to explain that I believed I was in hypertensive crisis as my blood pressure was 285/110. I told her my insurance was out of the state of Washington, because I had just relocated, and she gave me the snarkiest attitude. She said there was no way to check whether or not my insurance was accepted and the only way she could find out was if I was admitted, and they sent the information to billing. As many times as I have been in the hospital - this is the first I'm ever hearing of a facility not having a way to check your insurance. Her rudeness, her inability to answer questions did not put me at ease and she basically said I needed to pay $1400 to be seen. I told her this was ridiculous and proceeded to leave. I went back to my car, heart racing, feeling dizzy, and called another emergency room where they were able to place me on hold, inquired about my insurance, told me it was accepted and they could see me right away. I went to Prestige Emergency Room. I would highly recommend PRESTIGE as they have employees who know how to do their jobs, are friendly, and understand healthcare. If you're goal is to come into an emergency room, get blown off, not offered care, then you should definitely come to this facility. My understanding is that you cannot refuse care. I was basically refused care by the employee's rude gestures, lack of compassion, and her "ok, you can leave" attitude. This facility lacks professionalism. read more

I still come here for all of my urgent care needs. The doctors are amazing and very thorough. No wait ever and I'm usually in and out in less than three hours. This place caught the blood clot I had in my lung back in 2019. If it wasn't for them catching it I may not be alive today. I came today and still wasn't disappointed. The doctor was so kind and professional. So was the nurse who also brought me a hot cup of tea. I will still continue to come here so long as they continue to accept Tricare. read more

I received a nice little swag bag just for stopping in to inquire about insurance since I case manage people in the area. They waive co pays for NISD employees and First responders! I would have loved to give this place 5 stars. Friendly nurses, radiologists, ultrasound tech, and front desk worker. Very speedy service. Would have preferred to go here instead of Santa Rosa on Westover Hills especially now because of COIVD. BUT, I have to give this place 1 star because of the doctor's attitude. I have PCOS and an educated doctor would know that disorder makes you gain weight and have insulin resistance if not controlled. I was just diagnosed and have already lost a lot of weight but I'm still overweight. I went into the ER here for a painful bump on my leg I thought was cellulitis. Dr.Whitford takes ONE LOOK at me and asks me if I'm diabetic. I said no. Like I said before I have PCOS so my OBGYN and my PCP BOTH frequently test my blood sugar and A1C. Anyways, before being seen by this doctor I had just drank a huge cup of Sprite because I felt nauseous. When Dr. Whitford said he was going to check my glucose level to check if I'm diabetic I told him that I just drank a large soda. He said it didn't matter. I'm no expert or anything but that sounded wrong to me. He came back and said I'm diabetic because my glucose was high. Mind you, me being diabetic or not has nothing to do or would be the cause of an infection on my leg. I ended up being admitted to Santa Rosa for the infection on my leg and on the transfer papers he diagnosed me as being diabetic. This is COMPLETELY unethical. You CANNOT diagnose a patient based on a random glucose test especially after they eat/drink anything besides water. Diagnosis must be made with a FASTING glucose test meaning a patient must fast for a few hours before the exam OR by testing A1C levels, NEITHER or which was done. This was very unprofessional on the doctors part and he should be reported. I may return to this ER only because I hate waiting at Santa Rosa but I will never allow them to diagnose me with anything ever again. I know for a fact this was inaccurate as well because aside from being frequently monitored by my OBGYN and PCP, the doctor at the hospital I was admitted to RETESTED me with an A1C test and a fasting glucose test and I'm fine. I'm not diabetic. I'm not even pre-diabetic I'm in the normal range. read more

From the individual at the receptionist desk to the nurses to the attending physician all we received was genuine concern, empathy and fast service (as fast as one can expect in an emergency center setting, but I was highly satisfied). Exceptional service! This is the second time we've had to take our child here, and each time the staff has been incredibly nice and accommodating. Each time we've been taken back to a room immediately, and the facility is clean. There are snacks and drinks which is great for the kids, and if you're there for an extended period they will coordinate a grub hub pickup for you! The entire staff was amazing; Deborah was very caring and attentive. Frankie and Matt spent time talking to my child and making her feel comfortable and at home, and Dr. Spitz was a fantastic provider. She was so comfortable that she was open to talking to them and you know they're doing something right when your toddler is telling you how nice everybody is! Fever reached 104 and the night receptionist told me it was going to be a minimum of 12,000 to get him seem because my insurance was out of network. The dr was very attentive and took his time to make my 4 yr old feel at home by turning on cartoons & letting her have a pair of gloves like his! The nurse bribed her with a clown nose & apple juice so she would take her medicine. This is the second time we have used The Emergency Center & I wouldn't go to any other place going forward. Literally no wait! The staff is welcoming, caring, and knowledgeable. Medications are on site for immediate relief. Dr. Thaxton is a great doctor & will explain his findings and plan of care. We were fortunate to have him both times we went. Don't let the nice facilities trick you. Someone has to pay for all that and it will be you and you will not know it until you see the bill. Prices are not communicated prior to services so be cautious. Post x-rays they explained to me that it was going to be $499. They informed me that was the price for everything including the X-rays. This was a shock as the CHRISTUS Promptu Urgent Care Carmel Canyon on Culebra charged us $199 a month prior for X-rays (12-year old boy problems). I paid the high fees because I had no other option. Now I am getting calls and letters from synergy for over $200 more for their X-ray services that was not communicated to me TEC. They never mentioned that there was going to be another bill coming from a 3rd party. $700 to tell me that my son had a muscle spasm in his neck. A GP could have told me that, so why didn't they at the beginning. One trip to the acupuncturist and it was better. You need to communicate the prices upfront and tell people that the price they pay is not the actual cost. And when it is something simple, send the people on their way without performing unnecessary tests. Never again will I come to your location. Like people say below, the staff are very friendly but that doesn't make up for the bait and switch. read more

I had a really good experience here my second visit. However, on both visits, the front desk staff were amazing. On both occasions they were friendly, knowledgeable, fast, & efficient. I had the same nurse both times & both times she was professional. Not too friendly, but not rude or mean, - if that makes sense. She was just straight to the point and took care of business. Which I like. She explained my medication to me both times & she even texted me a day or so after to follow up on how I was feeling. The doctor I had my second visit with, was very sweet & compassionate. Despite everything that is going on in the world right now. Both visits I had were past midnight (since I do work until midnight), I had to wait to get off of work to come here. & Despite my late visit, they were still very alert & accommodating to me. My first visit was ok because of the dr. But the second time I had a different doctor who made all the difference. My covid results also came out in 15 minutes. The waiting time varies depending how busy they are. My 1st visit I waited 2hrs. My second visit I waited 0 minutes. It's also fully equipped and very clean. Update: I had to go in yet again this week due to a fainting episode & they blew it out of the park for me! This time, I experienced 3 different nurses and technicians & they were all so warm, comforting, & friendly. They even gave me a hot blanket while I waited for my results. The doctor also took really great care of me. & they give you your prescriptions there, & text you a day after to see how you are doing. Doesn't get any better than that. read more

Extremely slow. Nothing more to say then that. We were the only people in here and it took over two hours. Take the emergency out of this place, it's just another "clinic." I won't ever return, and with the horrible traffic in the area, makes it even worse... go elsewhere! 45 mins later we are still waiting. I would not recommend this ER Hospital at all. I went in asked if they were in network with BCBS. They said yes . I was seen for severe migraine that started 4 days prior. I told the Dr that saw me that this was not a normal migraine and that something was wrong. I asked to be tested for COVID he declined testing. I asked if was going to do MRI and he said no. I told him last MRI was in 2010. I advised him my dad died from possible stroke. I am high risk patient with Diabetes and high cholesterol. He declined to order any labs and no MRI. I was give a cocktail as he called it Toradol, Benadryl, and Zofran . I was released home after an hour. Next morning still had headache and continued through Sunday . I stated noticing mild weakness on my left foot and left hand on Sunday . Received text from nurse asking how I was feeling . I texted her back and told her that still had headache but not as bad . I wanted to know if I should be concerned on the weakness on my leg and arm. She replied good to hear you are doing better. No response to my concern. Monday morning I woke up dizzy, severe headache, difficult walking and numbness on my left hand. I told my husband something was seriously wrong with me and that he needed to take me to the nearest hospital and not that ER. Within a few minutes after I collapsed and had a seizure. I was transported by ambulance to nearest hospital. I was diagnosed as having a stroke. I was then transferred to a different hospital where I was admitted to ICU for 6 days. I will never go to this ER again. read more

This place is awesome. I went to a nearby ER not far from this one and the wait time to get back was 4 hours. That's crazy! There was no wait I arrived and they took me immediately. The doctor and staff were were friendly. I was dehydrated, dizzy and not feeling well. I felt 10x better when I walked out and they sent me home with medication allowing me to avoid going to the pharmacy. I will revisit the ER the next time I'm not well. read more

It's been months since I visited this establishment but the way the nurse in the front treated me has been weighing on me for a long time. I took my daughter in around 11pm to be seen for pelvic pain and yes she was 18 and yes we were'/are in a pandemic. I asked very nicely if i could accompany my daughter since i knew most of her medical history and I got a harsh "NO" by the nurse. Since I used to work with a Freestanding ER, I asked her nicely to ask the Physician on staff if it was ok and she didn't even want to bother. When i walked in the nurse was watching movies on the phone and no cars in the parking lot so there were no patients in the ER at the time so the excuse of other patients with COVID is not acceptable. The nurse was super rude and didn't seem to care. I then went to Prestige ER and they were very kind and understanding. The only reason I didn't go there in the first place because TEC was close to home. The only way I would go back is if i was actually dying, if not then I'll drive the extra few miles down the road and get treated with respect. read more

I was very impressed with the quality of the care and quality of this ER from beginning to end that I had yesterday Tues. Nov. 9th. Starting with great compassionate service at the front desk to the real talk by the doctor. I was very concerned with cost from the beginning and felt that the staff was very empathetic with that concern and didn't try to push for unnecessary expenses or test. This ER Corporation did not charge a co-pay, because I was employed as a teacher by a specific school district that they supported! During this selfish self serving economy Then as I opened my folder dreading my pharmacy visit, I realized they had my prescriptions filled already! Wow!!!
