For the last 7+ years I took the opposite approach - using companies like Progressive and Esurance because I perceived them to be more efficient due to their lack of agents. Being able to do everything yourself via their website sounds good, right? I've been lying to myself because it's actually been easier than I expected to service my account through my agent and her team. I bought a new car over the weekend and right afterward went online to update my policy. I didn't finish because there were so many steps and lots of information was required. I ended up calling my agent instead and everything was done within minutes... and without me having to provide all of the stuff that they were asking for online.
