After graduating from college, I decided to take my dream vacation and go to Vietnam. However since I have never traveled to Asia before, I decided to play it safe and talk with a travel agent. I went to First Class Travel with high hopes but sadly had a very disappointed experience. I wanted to get an idea of how much a flight cost from Chicago to Da Nang. Hilariously, I was informed that it would cost at least $2,500 for a connected flight from Chicago to Seoul and Da Nang. Having again traveled most of my life, I knew that didn't make much sense. While the travel agent said that was my only option. I looked up an American airline flight from Chicago to Da Nang with a 1 hour stop in Tokyo for $1,500. This travel agency wanted me to spend $1,000 MORE. Not only that, they would not have even booked the flight unless I booked a resort or hotel while I was in Da Nang. They also added that it was my fault that the flight options weren't as open because of the dates that I took off. And that if it was them they would ask their employer to just chance the vacation dates that I requested months in advance to make this trip work. They also had to say "Well Vietnam is an odd place to go to. I don't know why you would want to go there." Not only is this inappropriate but it's none of their business why I want to go there. So I left First class travel and did my own research. Bought my own plane ticket $1,000 cheaper and did airbnb and got a lovely beach villa for $25 a day.I had a wonderful time on my dream vacation. My advice. There is not point going to a travel agency. All the information you need is online. If you need advice on travel, ask people who have traveled there. The best way to describe First Class travel is: If you want something done right do it yourself!

This agency is incompetent to say the least! I could have done better if I had booked it myself and had way less stress!! They do not return calls or emails. They changed my original agent to another because the first was "too busy" to reply. This is a $10k trip with a 2 bedroom suite on a cruise and they couldn't be bothered to follow up or give me reminders of upcoming payment dates. Instead they called me the day before the balance was due and said we need it now. I had to email several times to get airfare booked as prices were just going higher and higher, that took a month for them to book! Finally after being fed up, I got thru to them this morning and asked them to release my reservations so I could make changes it to it myself as it would be faster. My dog sitter fell thru so I needed to change the flight day out to LA, it cost me $200 with the airlines to do so because they did not release my reservations. They told me thats not their problem it's an airline rule. I am still currently working with the cruise line to take them off my reservations as well. I had to hang up the phone as Mike was literally yelling at me into the phone. I could go on and on with the horrible details but bottom line....they are rude, incompetent, ignorant to their clients needs and basically think they are doing you a favor by taking on your travel needs. Also I carry a 100/300/50 insurance coverage through St Farm. What you sell at your counter is not insurance. You can't sell insurance. You need to be a certified insurance agent. And nobody in your office is. You sell optional coverage. Illinois law states you cannot refuse a rental because they can't prove they have insurance. Car rental companies must provide a 50/100/50 secondary liability coverage. You have a program through Ford and Mercedes. Every vehicle owner in the world has that. If I breakdown in your vehicle in another state, you will tell me tow it to the dealer. While we are waiting for parts, I have no vehicle. My $7,000.00 vacation ruined. Now with Major car rental companies in all states, they would get me another vehicle. Wow! Recliners! 60 inch TV! Refreshments! That's because you vehicles aren't ready when customers with reservations show up. So you provide that while they wait. I prefer in and out when picking up rental. Not hanging.

My good friend called me from New York where she was stuck trying to get on a flight to Chicago. After my failed attempts at finding a flight on-line I called Adriana at Nitti...they are open by 9:30 on Saturdays! Within, literally, a minute, she had my friend booked on a flight with an actual seat that would arrive by the time she needed to be in town...and for less than 1/2 the price of all the flights I could find!
