It doesn't get my money back but it might warn someone for the future. I am worried about someone else going through this. *if you don't want to read all this at least read my last statement if you have no experience with hiring anyone. This has been a stressful lesson to learn* I'm also including as much as I can but there's a photo limit but basically the highlights of the correspondence as well as us cleaning the debris left behind. He has said he'll take me to court for slander but given that I'm only giving factual statements of events here and customers are protected under the consumer review fairness act to give honest reviews I'll go ahead and give my review. I hired affordable tree care on May 28th to cut down a tree. Initially all went well. He surveyed the job, accepted it with no mention of anything else I needed to do. The tree went down. The stump left behind was 31 inches. A load of brush was left at the road and he stated it was within city compliance and would be picked up (fyi the city doesn't pick up yard waste if you hire a company to do a job). He said he would come back to finish the job and clean up the rest of the tree in the back yard. I paid him $894. The bank flagged the purchase as fraud so I paid him in two payments on cashapp as I felt terrible that his account has frozen and wanted to make the situation right quickly. I also kept constant contact with my bank to get his account fixed. The original purchase also went through though. So we effectively paid $1700. He did refund the second payment, eventually. Leaving us having paid $900. The city did not pick up the brush and stated that it wasn't in compliance. He still hadn't come back two weeks later with many excuses (seen in the texts) and reasons plus a rude judgment of my yard. The city sent me a notice stating that I had only a few days to get the pile ready for pickup. He still didn't come back. I hired two others to help me. We got everything in order as best we could (we are still cleaning it on our days off work) I requested a 20% refund for the undone work. You can see his reaction to that in the screenshots if you care to sift through them. I said I would take him to small claims as I initially intended to but changed my mind as I just want to be done with the situation and I'm tired of fighting with him. He threatened me with things that don't apply as well. *A contractors lien on our property even though we paid, and even overpaid at one point. (Maybe he thought I didn't know what that was?) *A libel case even though the statements I've made here are the true events of the past month, excluding my own opinions of being fair and honest. And given that consumers are protected to give honest reviews. *Something about a hazardous job that was never mentioned previously which I believe should have been discussed before the job was accepted because he is the professional and I am not. I admit my own irritation for the situation took a while to come around because I still trusted that the job would be completed. And also I simply don't like to argue. I only do it when it's necessary or in the defense of others although that's neither here nor there. My mother made a post about the situation that I made her take down as quickly as it was brought to my attention we well. Still trying to resolve the issues peacefully. I stayed in contact with him throughout because I was getting increasingly worried about fines, the grass growing up around the mess and needing to spend more to fix it all. And the city had issues with the limb pile at the road. I understand personal issues arise but in that case you don't keep money for services not given. That's my opinion anyway as I would never do it to others. I expect he'll be angry about this review as he's already threatened a slander case but I am not afraid of that so much as someone with less options and abilities being left with a mess they can't clean up and no more money to get help while racking up fines from the city. My aim isn't even to ruin anyone's business, but to warn everyone to take precautions and protect yourselves no matter who you hire for a job. I have no doubt the company is capable of finishing the work and they were pleasant until they weren't. I'm sure if you make it clear you won't pay until the work is done they would be completely fine to hire. The tree was cut down after all, the issue was everything that came after. It got quite nasty at the end unfortunately. With this I am done with the situation and hope that everyone else has a better experience. I'll leave you all with this if you've read through this far. Never pay an invoice until the work is completed to satisfaction and never trust that people will value you as equally as you value them.

They piled the tops of the tree branches along the road tangled and cross crossed. the city placed a tag on it stating that it was not up to code for them to take it. the city also sent a letter to the homeowners stating that there would be a $200+ fine for the city to remove it if it weren't straightened up to code. Dewayne has refused to return and finish the work after he was paid in full. Do NOT hire these people. it has been nearly 15 days since the tree was taken down and they refuse to complete the job. A total waste of money. Just an additional note they lost two swingset anchors as well. all the pictures are of the mess they created. they do not deserve one star.

Estate Tree Service is unique in that all of the workers wear safety helmets that are connected with communication from the supervisor and co owner, Patrick Sumner, who is a firefighter with EMS training. The particular tree they removed was a large ash tree that had lost a sizeable limb in a recent wind storm, that fortunately fell away from the house. The main part of the tree was leaning over our deck and roof and presented a constant danger. Patrick monitored the tree climber, Jose, and stayed in contact with him throughout the tree removal. Their charges were reasonable, and they did an excellent cleanup upon completion. I highly recommend Estate Tree Service and won't hesitate to employ them for future tree removal as well as planting replacement trees and shrubbery. See the Estate web site for photos.

I had a chance for overtime that day, which I turned down to make sure I was home by 4:30 to meet with Jeremy. 4:30 came and went, and I was sitting around, waiting on him to show up. At 5:15 I call him and ask what is going on. He is very apologetic and saying "oh man" several times and starts talking about how bad the traffic is but says he can be at my house by 6 PM. I'm a little upset, but I agree to wait until 6 and meet with him. 6 PM comes by. . .and nothing. At 6:30, now two hours after our original appointment and 30 minutes after he just told me he'd be there a little over an hour prior, he's still not there. I call again, and he just starts saying "oh man" over and over again, and mumbles something about traffic being bad. He says maybe he can be there a little after 7 PM. No. I said no. I'll find someone else. If someone is this bad at simply keeping an appointment, and bad at communication that he can't communicate if he's going to be late, why should I trust him with a project at my home?

He explained how he would do it, gave me what I considered a reasonable price, and we set up a time. With other companies I've had bent gutters, cracked sidewalks, fence and deck boards. Not with Julio. He and his crew were careful and meticulous. Everything was either handed down or lowered by rope. It was cut up, hauled through the alley, and chipped at the curb. He showed me before and after pictures of the roof. And when they left, my deck and sidewalks were cleaner than when they got here. They were horrible. They will not do what they are paid to…read moredo. They started job on June 27 and finally on July 16 they said the job was done. As you can see the tree is still standing and they left the largest part of the tree. 26x33 wise and 33 tall. They promised to cut the tree down to the ground and grind the stump. They agreed to take all wood with them. They took a huge load of wood to the back of my property and dumped it on a pile. I had to text and call them 3 times to get it out of the pile. Terrible service. Terrible customer service. When I questioned him (Terry Walsinger) he actually asked me if I was on drugs. Horrible experience. I highly recommend you pass when they bring their card to your door!!
