I brought my phone into compu shack to have the screen replaced. It had been cracked for about a month. No issues just a crack in the screen. After an hour of repair I received my phone and left. Less than 48hrs later my phone screen started glitching. I'll keep this short. I returned 3 times for the same glitch. He said my phone had "touch disease" something that I never had an issue with before bringing my phone in. After not being able to fix my phone properly he offered to put a broken screen on and return my money. i have used them several times for galaxy and iphone work and personal phones ...screens front and back. im a mechanic and have a tendancy to lay down under a truck with my phone in my pocket. today i broufht my phone in for a charging port. they found i only had a bunch of lint in my port and didnt actually need one. they couldve pulled one over on me but they didnt. top notch! read more

Didn't upsell me and fixed my computer just fine. Didn't know why my computer would turn on but not display anything and it turned out it was my graphics card that went bad. They replaced it and a new power supply and put new RAM in and now my computer runs faster than ever! Owner told me he didn't care about what ratings his customers gave online. Seems like any company would listen and ask to bring in to have a better understanding of what another IT professional describes but they all talk down and let you know how they're sure of issues they don't fully understand. I would give negative stars if possible. Took in my Note 8 for a replacement for a cracked screen. Get it back a week later, looks good. After two weeks I notice it has a weird pattern between the screen and LCD. It's tiny, goes away if I shift the touch screen in the case a little. Gets worse and worse. After about 5 weeks it's really noticeable. Take it back. Here's where I get really annoyed: He tells me it's condensation under the screen. He'll crack it open and show me ("as a favor since it's out of warranty", by all of 5 days) but he may accidentally break the screen while he's at it, and I'd be responsible for the damage. I ask him how condensation would form since it should be sealed together with a layer of adhesive. He says "No, there shouldn't be adhesive" and that it will always look like this because it's replacement screen and it will never be right. He said he "didn't know where I was storing it" but it was collecting condensation. Okay couple things with that: a) YES THERE SHOULD BE ADHESIVE BETWEEN THE TOUCH SCREEN AND LCD SCREEN. I asked 3 other local repair companies who all said yes, there's adhesive between the layers. When I told him that, he said he didn't care what other people said, he was the technician and he KNEW there wasn't supposed to be a layer of adhesive, they didn't make them that way to start with. That's an outright lie, I could feel the adhesive under the glass when the screen broke, and otherwise all the little cracked bits would have fallen out. b) If you knew it would always look screwed up, why didn't you say something before you fixed it? c) He ordered the part. Yeah it's a replacement part but why did you order one that wouldn't give a good result? d) "where I'm storing it?" - in my purse, at home, at work, climate-controlled. Does it matter? If you're going to call yourself a repair shop you should be able to make the item as good as when it was bought, or at least close, which means that condensation shouldn't form even if you have it outside for 8 hours a day and then bring it into a cold room. After he opens the case, there's no condensation... he says it just looks like that when the screen and LCD touch, and it will always look that way. I asked him to put a layer of adhesive to fix it and he refused, I asked him to refund my money and he refused. I asked for a store manager and he said it was him. I did more research and found that most places repair the LCD & touch screen together as an assembly kit (they come fused together with adhesive already so it's easier to install) and charge less. (He charged $90, $50 for the part and $40 for labor). So yeah. Next time I'll do my research a bit better and I won't be bringing anything back to this place. read more

I actually signed up for Yelp so I could set the record straight about this business (they don't let you see reviews that aren't from registered users). 4 years ago, when funds were low on my daughter's birthday, I chose Compu-Shack over Office Depot to get my daughter a laptop because of their customer service and understanding of my situation. Since then, all repairs and maintenance have been handled by Compu-Shack without any issues. Most recently, her screen died and some funky stuff was going on with the keyboard and pen. She was devastated because nothing had ever happened to her laptop, and she had 4 years of history she didn't want to worry about. Even though we had some stuff backed up, that laptop had become like her best friend. We thought for sure I would need to get her a new one but, nope! They fixed it right up, AND all the data was saved, drivers updated, pen replaced, etc. The screen wasnt a perfect match, so the view is a little dim but, she can see to work, and the owner knocked a good chunk of the price off because he felt bad about it being dim-this after trying for 2 hours to improve it; how often do you see that happen! I would have paid whatever to see the smile on her face when I brought it home. He also fixed it so she could use an external monitor, and now she has 2 monitors, which she proclaimed makes life so much easier. I have also referred anyone in need of PC/phone repairs here, and they have had no issues. The other reviews I see on here don't even make sense when I think of the level of customer satisfaction that I've witnessed while waiting for my own repairs. You also have to wonder how they stayed in business so long if everything said was true! In my opinion, the staff here is honest, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable about their business. It's comforting to listen to them answer calls, and walk customers through repairs or updates; other people would require them to come in so they can put a price tag on their help. If you need your tech handled by someone who cares about what they do and won't judge you, all for an affordable price--then this is the place to come. The techs at Compu-Shack handle devices like people on an operating table, and saving electronics is of the utmost importance to them. Basically experienced the same service as David J at the Morrow location. Purchased a screen replacement for iphone 6. I immediately placed the phone in an Otter Box case. Within an hour i notice a crack in the screen then everything went downhill from there. I took the phone back to Compu Shack and they would not honor the warranty. Be Warned!!! read more
