Amazing! Just amazing!! I was in town at the hotel next door and my computer showed the "blue screen of death" It was 4:30 and I walked in the shop near years. Ameen was so friendly and concerned. He talked to the tech, and they agreed to stay a bit later to fix it because my flight was leaving the first thing in the morning. They could have charged me anything they wanted. 20 minutes later, they called and said it was a simple repair. They charged me a reasonable fee and I had my computer back ASAP! I worked with Omar at Compumax during my revamp and update of my two computers. I make equipment last, and this custom built desk top and my DELL laptop are both 13 years old at this point. I wanted to do a complete Windows reinstall on both but just a little way into the process on the desktop and Windows would not install. It turned out that I had a failing hard drive on the desk top and I know that the laptop had been running very slowly for a long while as well. Due to this I decided to upgrade the storage on both machinjes to solid state drives. I bought the SSD for the desk top and brought it back to Omar for the Windows install. There was a slight miscommunication between myself and Omar concerning the Windows version. His associate installed Windows 10 Home, but my licenses are Windows 10 Pro. Omar understood the situation however and since he was in the middle of a very lengthy (two week) data recovery from the old HHD and transfer to a portable SSD, he deeply discounted this work to compensate. In the meantime I had taken the decision to create my own debloated Windows 10 Pro ISO and reinstalled the OS myself which was a better decision overall now that it has a screaming fast SSD. I ran the samne reinstall for my laptop. Both computers were now reset with Windows and Omar was able to recover all the necessary data. It really was a slow and painstaking process copying data from the failing HDD through a dedicated data tranfer machine. In the end, he saved the data from that HDD and treated me right. Do be aware that Omar does pass the store's credit card processing fees on to the customer, however. This is not common practice in most businesses and might be a surprise if you don't notice the sign stating this. read more

I brought my computer in for having a black screen. I was told to put a $30 deposit in cash or else they have to charge an extra fee. To start off at $30 immediately turned to $33 and some change. I was told that we were taking off of whatever it cost for the repairs. Was told that it would be looked at on Monday and we would know Monday what would happen. On Tuesday I called them and he had to call me back. He said it was $250 because the connection between the monitor and the computer shorted out is what he stated and that he also had to change the motherboard. First things first if the motherboard is bad in that computer is cheaper to buy a whole new computer so that did not get repaired. Also, he informed me he was going to clean it. When it was handed to me, it was very obvious that they did not clean it. They did not deduct $30 initially and whoever he called said no the 250 is what I just plain owe. I just got it back so I have not checked other than seeing if it will come up on the screen. I'm never going to go back there personally and I advise anybody else from doing so. read more

Worst place ever to repair an iPad. I took both my son's and niece's iPads there for cracked screens. We got my son's back and the home button (which worked fine when we dropped it off) no longer worked. My niece's iPad screen cracked as we were putting it in the case, cheap screen. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The owner told me he could replace my laptop battery in two days and would call me when he was done. A month later and $500 wasted he did not call me. In fact I had to keep calling and coming back due to their mistakes. After I kept calling (after a week of no communication) they tell me it's been ready for pick up. I go and there no battery inside. The employee told be it got sent back by mistake without the battery. Again I take it back. 0 communication again I keep calling after a week. The guys again text me saying he'll call tomorrow (he doesn't) he apologizes and said he had to fire an employee because of this (even tho he's the one who been handling everything) he says again the computer been ready and I can pick it up tomorrow. I go pick it up on my lunch break and the owner (same person who texted it was ready the day before) told me it was not ready yet and I could wait while he fixed it. I told him I was on my lunch break and could not wait. So I have to go back again and more then a month after I initially brought it in it still does not work. The owner apologized and told me I could bring it back in and that it was probably due to the water damage my computer had but after this customer services I'd rather cut my loses and buy a new computer. Don't waste your money here and please just take your electronic somewhere else. DO NOT RECCOMEND! I wish I could give negative stars. I came here to buy a computer charger that was $80 because I had lost my previous one. Before I purchased the charger I asked multiple times if I could return it and refund it if I found my other one and I was told yes every time. I found my lost charger two weeks after purchasing the new one so I came back to return it and he told me he won't refund me. I told him about what we talked about before and he was rude and yelling throughout our conversation about how he would never give me a refund. I walked out of the store and now I'm out $80 and was lied to and won't be coming back, and I don't suggest you go to them either. They have bad reviews for a reason!!! Dropped off the computer on a Saturday. Google says they are open at 9 but we get there and they have a sign that says open now at 10. Ok cool. We wait, drop off the computer and get told we will get a call Monday or Tuesday to let us know how much. Ok cool. Tuesday and still no call. So Wednesday we call, it will cost $220 now and $75 later because he needs to order a new part from China which could take months. Ok cool. He then says he will have the computer ready in a few days and he will do it all for $270. Ok cool. The next Monday we still hadn't heard anything so we call again. He said the 1st part (which we didn't even know he needed to order) is out for delivery today so he will have it ready on Tuesday, he will call. Ok cool. Hear nothing from him at all. So the following Saturday now 2 weeks after dropping it off we call again and he says he never told us the computer would be ready the week before, he just got the part in and he will fix it that day. Go in to pick it up and he says it is $329.24!!!!!! Plus a 3% credit card fee. So paid $340.76 for him to fix a hinge after he said it was $270. Umm not cool... you told us it was $270 "no I never said that" at this point we are pissed try to explain but basically pay this or don't get your computer back so my husband pays and storms off. Very unprofessional. Every conversation had different information. Wasn't ready when he said it would be. Charged us more than he said it would be. Unbelievable. Seriously don't trust him no matter how many "good reviews" you see. read more

This place is AWFUL! HORRIBLE! DO GO THERE!!!! BAD SERVICE! RIP OFF! I purchase (2) VGA splitters based on the assistance over the phone from one of their representatives. They advised by purchasing this cable my laptop could use 2 monitors and expand my screen and usability. Upon bring the cable home, the cable doesn't expand the desk top it simply duplicates it. I sent my assistant down to the store to return the 2 cables, the person at the desk advised the manager is the only one to do exchanges. Upon her arrival to the office, I called them back to gain more clarification. A man who got on the line advised he was the manager and that they do refunds at all on open products. I told him the item was not sealed in a package they were open when we received them. He got very rude, and yelled through the phone at me that he spoken with me before which I had never spoken to him as I would have recognized his thick foreign accent. He informed me that one of my 2 hard drives had failed, and that it wouldn't be as costly to repair it as we initially thought. Dropped off my PC on a Saturday; would not power on. Yaser (service rep) waited on me within 30 sec of my arriving. He called me the same day (3 hrs later) and said I needed a new power supply. He provided a total price (parts/labor) for a new one and a refurbished one. I chose the new one. I wish I could give 0 stars. I also wish I could attach screen shots of all of the people that have been scammed by them. They say free diagnostics and student discount. Both are false. They also will quote you and then charge a lot more... in fact more than what apple or any other technician says is nessecary. When you ask them to leave computer alone and not fix.. they do it anyway and say if you take your computer back it is theft. They have many cell phones, computers, and iPads that they say are "refurbished because owner never picked them up" this is false. Owners are leaving their computers because they are being charged more than the computer is worth. Not to mention... if you do pay for your computer back... it may not work properly. Their warranty is not worth anything because they have excuses and loop holes and use "language barrier" as an excuse to police. I will be taking every possible avenue to make this known to our community. The news... BBB... every social media site I have access to. I left a review on their facebook and they deleted the whole thing. Which they constantly do so that they can continue scamming customers. I also have spoken to two employers that used to work there and are aware and have told me and written how fraudulent this places business practices are! All of my screen shots will be turned into the news and possibly a lawyer because there is SO much. We did have to bring it back in again but they stood behind their work and repaired it free. When I brought in our 2nd computer, they gave us a great price to diagnose it ... This is a horrible place. They completely scammed me. Quoted one price and charged another. When I got there my computer was not done so I asked to please just have it back unfixed and they told me "no" so I called the police there. During that time he rushed to put my computer back together and told the cop it was fixed and that I owe the money. When I asked for my student discount that they told me about, they refused to give that. When I got home...the computer was messing up more than it was when i brought it in. Im not sure that they did anything. I went to social media and there are many many other people that have horrible experiences. I don't know how this place is open and I hope that everyone is warned before going in. They only allow positive reviews to be seen publicly on their website, and on facebook they delete accounts when a negative review is page and then a new page will come up with no reviews. If you use this service do not take the first price you are told, and when you do agree on a price make sure you get it in writing. They will tell you one price and then when you get there to pick up your computer they will tell you a much higher price. Also make sure you keep your receipt. I didn't bring my receipt with me and they said I was not in their system and that I had never been there, and def had never brought them a computer to fix. After 45 minutes of arguing with them I called home and got the number off my receipt and they magically found my computer. I will never use them again. They did fix the computer accurately though, however the fact that they charged me a much higher price than what we agreed on, and the fact that if I didn't have my receipt they would have said I never brought in my computer or never stepped foot in their establishment before is not worth going back. read more

To start, my computer was going bad and my guy had moved away last year. Not excited about getting screwed, as I am not an expert... but my life is in my computer, I took my computer to Compumax to replace the CPU fan. Unfortunately, there was more wrong than I thought. When this happens, I go into protection mode, because wouldn't it be typical for ANYONE... a mechanic will always "find" more stuff wrong with your car than you go in for. I was not hearing good news, I thought the worst of what i was going to experience, and they did the best they could. Took my computer home and it wouldn't find my drives. I brought it back and Frank maybe picked up on my reticence, opened it back up and completely would not let my computer die. He diagnosed both hard drives, we determined that the D drive was bad. Frank bent over backwards into 2 late nights to not only make sure everything booted, but performed magic on my bad drive AND backed both drives to an external for me. There is no doubt as to why Frank and his business are celebrating 25 years. I now have a new computer guy, if he has room for one more pain in the ass! read more

Crap experience. At least they're consistent judging by the older posts. I fell for the high-stars Google ratings online, what a mistake, no idea how they got those. Took a backup hard drive in from a failed PC wanting all the files copied to memory sticks or DVD's. Even wrote down what I needed also and gave to the dude. Quoted $55 in writing. Figured it had to be cheaper than the Best Buy geek prices, so I said okey-doke. Went to pick it up when done and the bill was $110. For the price of a $10 memory stick and the labor to copy files. Choked but paid. Got home and read the stick, guy only copied one folder of photos and videos. I asked verbally and in writing to copy the whole drive, I had some important documents and stuff on there also. Called and the same guy said he thought I only wanted the photos, said to bring it back in and he would copy the rest. I live 30 miles away! Went online and found a hard drive reader and ordered for $49 with shipping, did it myself. I must be a full tard to have paid these jackalopes $110 to do it, and for that I got one folder of files and a memory stick I could have bought at Wallyworld for 10 bucks.
