Not helpful. Very curt I was maybe interested in switching back from PC thinkPad laptop to MacBook Pro. I cannot say enough how happy I am with the service that I got from Computer Village! They figured out the problems that I was having with my computer (caused by my own mistakes) and then sat with me patiently explaining what had been done to correct the issues. And then successfully saved my files from my dying time machine back-ups. The best of all, Pedro found a back-up from many years ago that I had been unsuccessfully searching for, enabling me to restore a very special family picture that had been accidentally deleted more than 9 years ago! Service is great but keep in mind that they charge more for repairs than apple. To give you an example I took my laptop in for diagnostics: Computer Village $65 per diagnostic $899 + tax repair Compared to: Apple store Aventure Free diagnostics $678 for the same exact repair I just hope this helps someone in the future save a few $. Always take it to the Genius Bar at an apple store first. Get a 2nd and 3rd opinion at independent shops before sending out to repair your device. RUN AWAY!!!! COMPUTER VILLAGE told me my computer repair 1100.00 but it got a lot more issues and will get very costly. APPLE STORE ended up fixing it for 700.00 not understanding how anyone saw more issues. COMPUTER VILLAGE Sold me computer as it's the only one who meet my specs. APPLE STORE have one to meet my specs for 800.00 cheaper. COMPUTER VILLAGE charged me 180.00 to transfer data from my old to new computer, explaining that Apple won't do it and he the only one who agree and that is the charge APPLE STORE said it's a free service they provide. I needed to replace the screen on my iPhone and the Genius Bar had no available appointments. I saw Computer Village was also authorized to do repairs so called and was able to get in the same day. They gave me a price quote over the phone so I knew exactly what I would be paying before I got there. I dropped my phone off and it was done a few hours later. I was trading in my phone (but needed the screen fixed before!) and T-Mobile verified that it was all perfect and took it back. It all cost the same amount it would at the Apple Store. They were nice and it was a very painless experience overall! There are a few parking spots right in front which I was able to use both times I arrived. There's also a Starbucks nearby if you wanted to hang out while your phone is being worked on. I would definitely come back the next time I'm having issues with my Apple products. read more

The screen on my Mac was cracked and I saw Computer Village was an apple authorized service provider so I made an appointment and dropped off my computer. They were efficient, fairly quick and friendly. The cost was pricey but so is everything associated with apple. The location is clean and organized. The only downside is that parking is limited and semi difficult since it's on a very busy Main Street. read more

After leaving the original review below, I was told the manager wanted to speak to me when I returned to the store to pick up my computer. His response to my minor complaint was to go on an unhinged rant at me in the middle of the store. It was really insane and the things he was raving about had nothing to do with my issue, such as blaming me if his store gets shot up???? He also kept repeating that I would have to work for him for free at the store if I wanted to get my own laptop back. What? Absolutely crazy. Also not a good look for an older man to be viciously berating a small young woman in the middle of his store over a minor complaint she made. I'm sure other customers would have felt very uncomfortable seeing it. ------------ I would not trust this place with my personal computer again. They were thoughtless with my Mac laptop and do not care to give it back on time. I dropped it off to be sent for repairs and on the day that I was notified I could pick it up from the store, I called them 45 minutes ahead of time to let them know that my GPS was telling me I would be ONE MINUTE late. On the phone they told me that they would not wait ONE SINGLE MINUTE for me and that the store would be closed if I was late. Absolutely terrible treatment of a customer, especially with something as important as my computer which I need for work. I tried to drive faster, but I cannot control traffic and wound up arriving at Computer Village one minute late as predicted - the store was not only closed but giant shutters had already been drawn and padlocked, indicating that they had closed early even though I had told them I would only be one minute late. I needed data recovery on a 2009 iMac that was obsolete and wouldn't turn on. This computer belonged to my sister, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. My mother almost threw the computer away but I told her all of my sister'a information was there and decided to bring it to Computer Village to see what they could do for me. The specialist Peter helped me out and walked me throughout the process. It took a long time (about a month) given the had to take the hard drive out (which was damaged) and put it in this machine that recovers data. He ran the first cycle and was able to retrieve 90-95% of the data so the time was worth it. He then invited me in and explained to me the best way for me to share this data with my mother and sisters in order to keep my sisters memory (pictures,documents) Alive. Pricing was great, as somewhere else this job would have costed thousands. They charged me only hundreds so that was great and I was very satisfied with their service. Resisting the inevitability of planned obsolescence when my iPhone 6 Plus battery seemed doomed, I discovered a recall notice on Apple's site and promptly applied. I was directed to Computer Village who had a new battery installed after I assured them I had backed up the device. A year later now and we are presently at Iphone XS as their latest model, but this battery is still staving off the $1500 price tag that the XS accompanies. I'll definitely be back as often as I can until it's time to give in or they invent teleportation. Until that time Computer Village is it! read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars. This place is a rip off and filled with incompetent employees. The Apple support app listed this shitty ass place on their approved list, so I took my iPhone X to get its screen repaired with Apple Care+. I was queued, and told to return in 3 hours. I returned and saw that not only was my screen still broken, my phone was "bricked". It would not power on anymore. I don't know what the hell they broke during the time that I dropped off a perfectly good phone with a cracked screen and was given back a brick. To make matters worst, their response was "we know you came to get your screen fixed for $29 but because your phone has a 2mm dent ON THE BACK CORNER OF THE PHONE, we cannot replace your screen. Also, because your phone will not power on, you will need to spend $99 to get an entirely new phone". When again, the phone worked perfectly fine when I originally brought it. I requested that we call Apple because the idea that I would need to pay an additional $70 for something they broke is absurd to me. After explaining the situation to a representative, she spoke with Raul, the genius telling me they broke my phone but won't replace it, created some bullshit excuse about "Apple policy" restricting his ability to replace THE FRONT SCREEN because of a 2mm BACK CORNER dent. And somehow convinces the rep that indeed, there is nothing that can be done because of this imaginary policy Raul and his crooked cohorts created. I wasted an additional 45 minutes on Apple custom service. So from 10:48am-4:45pm I was without a working phone. I took my now totally inoperable phone to the ACTUAL Apple store, and wouldn't you know. There is no "dent" policy. I got a brand new device for the cost of the cracked screen. $31.02 after taxes. Moral of this long ass story, don't patronize that crappy ass establishment because they'll break your phone and try to make you pay for it. Just go to the real Apple store. read more

I had Raul assist me today on getting a diagnosis on my computer for insurance purposes for a claim i had, and this guy knew immediately that i had a logic board and video card issue. granted my computer was old but he knew exactly what the issue was and quickly wrote up a work repair sheet for me easily and free of charge when i was expecting a charge for sure for his professional opinion and advice to assist me. The only place besides the Apple store that's capable of resolving Mac issues by properly diagnosing the issue and efficiently remediating it. It's a small spot right on US1 that's easy to miss but if you keep your eye out, you will spot them right away. For Mac products out of warranty or with difficult resolutions, this place might be your best bet. It's rare nowadays to have a neighborhood computer repair spot that truly serves their neighborhood and is worth your trust. I found out my MacBook had a faulty battery instead of the runaround I was getting at the Apple store. After scheduling an appointment I walk in to be greeted by a very disinterested representative that only ask if my computer was under warranty. I explained that the computer was less than a year old and it should. He then said that I needed to have backed up the data. He further said that all we can do is send it to Apple and that that may take 3-4 weeks. He had no interest in attempting to see my computer or made any effort to attempt to assist me. I had gone here rather than an Apple Store earlier during Covid for help with a highjacked laptop. Turns out I had been hacked by a sneaky method, which because they told me what had happened, I haven't fallen for it again. So when that computer died today I decided to go back there to buy a new one. During these times it is so much more comfortable going into a small operation. I've never been a fan of the Apple stores, but after seeing a piece on how they often rip off the customers by saying their device is not fixable or will cost more than its worth to repair, I would rather go elsewhere. I was impressed that they didn't try to sell me something more expensive than I needed. Also, they worked extra hard to transfer my data from my old device, without trying to charge more, or just giving up, which has happened to me at Apple stores more than once.
