My brother and I had been trying to figure out what to do with the house for months, and from the first time I met with them, I felt like we were in good hands. One of the things that initially made me feel comfortable choosing Sorted was knowing that they've been through this themselves. They've been in our shoes and understand how difficult and emotional it can be to go through a parent's home and belongings. That really came through in the way they approached everything. They were incredibly organized, responsive, thoughtful, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. What really stood out was how much care they showed toward my dad's belongings. They took the time to understand what might be meaningful to our family, found good homes for so many of his things, and made sure anything they thought we might want was put aside for us. It never felt like they were simply there to empty a house. They handled all the logistics, donations, coordination, and final clear-out, which took an enormous amount of stress off of us. When they were finished, the house was completely cleared and ready for us to move on to the next step. Amy and Felicia are also just genuinely wonderful people. They made a difficult process so much easier than I expected it to be, and I'm incredibly grateful we found them. They completely exceeded our expectations. I've already been recommending Sorted Estates to everyone I can, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend them to anyone dealing with an estate or family home.

As a Realtor with more than 36 years of experience, I've worked with many estate sale companies…read moreover the years, and to be honest, my experiences have often been less than impressive. Then I met Pete Banchieri from Alameda Estate Sales, and he completely changed my perspective. Pete took on one of the most challenging estate sales I've ever encountered. The home had been owned by the same family for more than 40 years, and it was filled with decades' worth of belongings. What impressed me most was Pete's incredible work ethic and attention to detail. He spent weeks carefully sorting valuables, donations, selling certain things online, arranging for appropriate items to be auctioned, and researching historical documents and collectibles, organizing the contents, and thoughtfully preparing everything for the sale. Because I had the opportunity to visit the property several times throughout the process, I was able to see firsthand the amount of work, care, and professionalism Pete and his team brought to the job. I was genuinely blown away by the transformation and the level of effort they invested. Pete and his crew did an outstanding job from start to finish. They exceeded every expectation and completely changed my previous apprehension about the estate sale industry. I highly recommend Pete and Alameda Estate Sales, and I will absolutely be using them for all of my future estate sale needs.

It was awkward to watch and then- when I went to check out, it got worse. I went to the reg with 3 things in hand- 1 print marked $20, 1 tin marked $1, and an unmarked vintage tray. I asked about the tray- he quoted $10 bucks. Ok, cool. I asked if he would come down in price on the print- he snapped at me no. Ok, I said- I'll just go with these 2 things. He tallied things- gave me $10 for the tray as he said, and quoted $3 for the tin. I said "but it is marked $1" (which it was, in marker, on the bottom). He snapped "That's not MY dollar!"- as if I changed the price? WTF? So I said I'd skip the tin. I started to ask about some drawers he had in the house, and he blew his top and said the price is the price and that there is no haggling at estate sales. Well, Peter- not yours, for sure, but then post signage, please, as many of the other sales in town have CLEARLY STATED POLICIES posted. So I looked at him stunned by his blowup, and then started to change my mind about the tray- which he then yanked out of my hands and put behind the register, and then he IGNORED ME to snap at other people trying to pay. I stepped behind the other people to get back in line to purchase the tray because I DID like it and it is unique. Once he finished with the other people, he picked up the tray and the tin, shoved them at me and told me to take them and go away. I said I didn't want to not pay and again, he had moved on to other people. So I paid him via Venmo. And he looked surprised. You might treat people like shit, Peter, but I paid for what I purchased. If you hate dealing with people, and hate the business, maybe you shouldn't profit from the FAMILIES OF DEAD PEOPLE, PETER.

After a brief conversation where Tina educated me a bit more about the process, she agreed to meet at my parents estate in a few days, and she showed up with her partner promptly at the agreed upon time. They were very kind and understanding, and took a good look at what was in the house, asked a bunch of questions, answered a bunch more questions, and generally were great to work with. Unfortunately, there was not enough stuff in the house to make it worthwhile to do an Estate Sale, and they seemed quite apologetic about that, but they still gave me lots of great advice on how to proceed with my goals, as well as the few things that knew from experience would be worth trying to sell separately. It was educational and I'm very thankful for their assistance.

First I sent an email and waited for a week but never got a response. The same thing when I sent a text and I had to call at least 2 times before someone answered. I am not sure if it's because I don't have a 707 area code number but that shouldn't matter if your direct line is a business line. Now the owner posted on Yelp they have been doing this for years. During those years you have think that they learn how to get back to customers in a timely fashion.
