The atmosphere when you walk in is such a vibe! Floral wall, swing, plant wall, merch - it checks all the Insta-worthy boxes, and hey, it worked on me! It was quiet on a Friday morning of a long holiday weekend, but I imagine this place gets busy. There's ample indoor seating (no outdoor seating that I saw). Fun fact: while enjoying my coffee, I looked up what "Con Azucar" means "with sugar." I mean, I loooove it. Self-admitted sweet tooth over here. I was greeted the second I walked in, which was a nice surprise since that doesn't happen at a lot of coffee shops. The menu has everything - lattes, frappes, refreshers, hot and cold drinks, plus a bunch of pastries. Apparently they also have giant conchas?! How did I miss that? Next time, for sure. I went with a Large Shaken Brown Sugar Espresso (4 shots), ready in less than 5 minutes. It was yums & sweet, just like the girl at the register promised. Hot take: it tastes exactly how Starbucks' version did when it first came out (before it went downhill). Con Azucar's is definitely better. This place is absolutely adorable and so Instagram-worthy! What really keeps me coming back are the drinks. I love that the menu is inspired by Latin/ Hispanic flavors--it's a change from the usual coffee shop drinks and makes the experience feel unique. Everything I've tried has been delicious, and it's one of the main reasons I continue to visit. The only thing I have to complain about is the service. While I've always received my order correctly, I think the staff could be a little more welcoming and friendly. A warmer customer experience would make an already great spot even better. Stopped at Con Azucar Cafe after watching a movie nearby and felt instant buyer's remorse lol Although super cute inside, this place is way way too overpriced. Probably to afford all the ig-worthy backdrops and neon signs. The coffee chain is also well-known for its giant conchas. I got a peppermint mocha latte in a small (12 oz) and didn't realize it would cost $9 (before tip) as the prices for their specialty coffees are not listed on the menu. I remember stopping by on April 27, 2025, and asking if they had any gluten-free or sugar-free options. I wasn't asking them to reinvent the menu. I was just trying to find something that worked with what my body can actually consume. Instead, I got a pretty rude response and was told they wouldn't be making any adjustments to the menu. That's their prerogative, but it was disappointing. People have dietary restrictions for all kinds of reasons, and I was simply trying to work within mine. Best conchas and café in town. If you been to the one in Salinas and San Jose then you know Modesto is just as good. Known for their giant concha's and coffee mug. Love their multi-Latin flavored coffees hot/iced with a picture of your favorite Disney character or Mexican icon. Their torta de jamón is delicious with chipotle dip on the side. Went on a Tuesday late afternoon. It was pretty slow but constant traffic. On 10th St. across from Doubletree and Fuzio Bistro. Parked in the garage right across for $1.25 per hr. Wasn't sure about parking in the street. Might be more parking spaces available on the weekends or later in the day. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend to check it out. read more

I decided on the Modesto location since the Manteca one is a bit more on the smaller side. I'm always on the hunt for a good authentic ham torta . I want to say they almost got it just like my small hometown tortas in Mexico . The pepper jack cheese and mayo tossed it off track . Get rid of the melted cheese and use crema Mexicana and it will be more up my alley. With that said it's still super yummy . It was served with a side of white sauce . I still don't know what it was . It tasted like mayo mixed with something else . 4 for the torta! I also went with a shaken brown sugar espresso it was a tad bit on the bland side but tasted refreshing enough. 3 . Service was decent . Straight to business and I totally prefer it that way . There was a simple greeting and then the order . I did have to clean my table before I sat down and there were other clean tables but I wanted the corner one . 3 min after I sat down the other tables were being wiped down so they are on top of the cleaning ! Pricey! I came here with my mom and daughter and our total was over $50 for avocado toast, 3 drinks, and a concha. The concha was dry and nothing special- certainly not worth the $3 they charged for it. Everything was just OK. My daughter got a decaffeinated duvalin drink and didn't finish it because it wasn't good. I got a mazapan latte and it was not great either. All and all I would not return because of the location (parking is tough downtown just for a coffee plus too many sketchy people outside), the flavors weren't there, and the high cost. read more

I've been going to the Modesto location since they opened. The last 3 times the bread has been hard and today I asked if she could check that the bread is soft. She came back to the register with 2 bags. I trusted her paid for them and left, 10 minutes later we eat a bread and they're hard and dry. This place is not as good as it used to be. They should be selling the bread I bought as day old. People will know it's not fresh and expect it to be dry and stale. read more

Went here for the first time today. The decor was very beautiful. The location is a bit small (I thought is was going to be a bit larger). I was so excited about coming here and that we found it but that excitement went out the window as soon as we got to the register to order. The girl working the register didn't even say "Hi" or even acknowledge us after we said "Hello". She was writing a name on a cup as we were standing there. I get that she was busy but the least she could do was say "Hi" and just let us know she would be with us shortly. Even after she was done writing on the cup, she ignored us like the plague. So we decided to walk out. Even as we were leaving, she didn't say anything. We definitely won't be coming here again. I've trained employees in Customer Service and this is not how you treat people. Very cute little coffee shop! We loved the decor and vibe inside. Very lively with their color palette, music, and decor. They have a good amount of options to choose from for coffee, bakery, and quick bite items. We ended up with a concha and an almond croissant; both were very soft, fresh, and yummy. For coffee, we selected the Dulce De Leche Latte and the Duvalin Latte. The coffee didn't wow us, but it was good. Knocked off a star because the location does not offer much parking, the customer service at the counter could use improvement, and the coffee is expensive for the quality at nearly $8 per drink. read more

Its alright, the conches we got was a mini bag & food at least. My friend go the BLT she said was just normal. The grilled cheese hurt both of our stomaches and was pricey, for the area is a norm. Nothing crazy good but I will say the drinks were super good! We got matcha strawberry, and horchata chia. We came in and got a big concha and coffee. I got a cold brew with banana cold foam, my sister got a cold brew with abuelita cold foam, and my mom got a regular abuelita chocolate. No complaints there. However, I will say the staff needs a lot of work on hospitality. Since it is a newer location, you should have more enthusiastic employees. When we entered we did not get greeted which is fine. The girl at the register did not say a word she just looked at us. We told her it was our first time so we needed a minute to look at the menu. While we were looking at the menu she was just on her phone. She did not give us any suggestions. I just really think the staff needs some more enthusiasm and some more hospitality training. read more
