Con south saved me $20,000 and helped fix an issue from a different grader/company. Short story - I hired a different company to do grading and unfortunately they had a different vision and tried to sell me the idea that grading to be done would include a retaining wall. This is where Jason @ Con South came in to save the day and my butt. Not only was Jason professional and didn't try to give me any BS and was a straight shooter, honest, reliable. He is the type of contractor that will look you in the eye and tell you I can help. Its rare that you come across someone with such integrity. If you with with hard-working and and honest guy, then ConSouth is the right place. I am so blown away by the quality of the work... that I am writing a thesis that explains what happened. (see my pictures) Long Story - I cleared out about 1/8 acre in my yard that included some over 30+ trees and steep terrain so that I could get a backyard where I could extend my deck and include modern/shed. Unfortunately, I did not talk to ConSouth and hired another company. After 3+ days of grading, this other company was selling my the idea that I would need retaining wall to support my backyard..... Wait, I never wanted a wall only grading so that I could build things. Oh, by the way the quotes I was getting for a retaining wall was between $21,000 to $16,000, plus thousands I already paid this other company to do the grading. So this when I called Jason at ConSouth. I realized that I hired the wrong company and Jason provided me some frank advice and said he could work with me. Not only was he able to get rid of poorly managed grading from the other company, he moved tree stumps the size smalls cars out of the backyard that was previously left from the other company with his bobcat that the other company would not do. After two days of redoing the work, the backyard was exactly what I asked for. Perfection. Im finally a happy camper and my wife was also ecstatic with the work done on our backyard. This company lacks basic business ethics. I contacted CON South, Inc. due to the good reviews that were posted on Angie's List. During a short phone conversation, Mr. Baker asked me to Google his company so that I could see even more photographs of the work his company had done. The images were impressive, however, I expressed concern that perhaps, my job was too small as all the photographs showed large-scale work on HUGE homes and commercial properties. I was also concerned that if the bulk of his work was "commercial", I would not be able to afford his company prices. Mr. Baker assured me that they did a large amount of "residential" properties, and that no job was too small. We scheduled an on-site quote for that Saturday May 19th, 2018. When Mr. Baker arrived at my home, it was immediately clear to him that my backyard needed to be "leveled/graded" for it to be functional, and for me to enjoy it. We discussed my concerns. He assured me that it could be corrected and suggested that I allow his company to also remove the patio slab and install a colored decorative concrete slab, running the width of my home that would beautify the back yard, and give me additional functional space. I liked this idea. He took the necessary measurements and stated that he would get back to me on Monday, with prices for the several options that we discussed. Mr. Baker did NOT call back. And has never called back. I left a voicemail on 5/25/2018, followed by an email on 5/30/2018. After a week, I called two more times and left voicemails. To date I have not heard back from Mr. Baker, or anyone at his company. Following up is basic business etiquette. I must assume that the customers that gave great reviews with high ratings, were those with whom Mr. Baker felt his company would make the most profit; whilst "small" residential jobs, are apparently not worth his time. read more

I carefully reviewed ConSouth's website, BBB ratings, Yelp reviews, photos, etc. before contacting Jason to request an estimate for a stamped concrete patio, which would be approximately 1,000 sq feet, and to include a fire pit. He arrived early, was friendly and warm, listened to everything we wanted, offered advice. My husband and I were left with a great impression and looked forward to receiving our estimate. Then we waited, and I followed up with a text. I was understanding, I knew he was probably very busy, perhaps even had larger jobs pending. But we received absolutely no response. Not even an acknowledgement. Jason was our very first estimate for a renovation project that was to span both inside and outside, and we were so excited to get started. His non-responsiveness was disheartening. We questioned ourselves, were we unlikable, were our house and project too small for him? I knew he came all the way from Conyers to Alpharetta, so thought perhaps he just didn't want to make the trip for several days that the project would take to complete. If he didn't really want the job, all he had to do was reply to my follow up that he was unable to accept the job. That would have been the professional response. Of course, we are now going with the company that has bent over backwards to be helpful and responsive. read more
