Conar Auto Registration Services - 1967 - Registration Services Near Me - San Jose, California

I recently assumed (transferred) a lease from someone else in California. The legal owner remained the Financial Services entity, but I needed to apply for a new registration so the car would be in my name. A new title would need to be issued to the Financial Services, listing me as the new lessee. I was provided a set of documents, which included a Power of Attorney which allowed me to apply for a registration on behalf of the out-of-state Financial Services entity. It was an uncommon process but it was supposed to be done at the DMV office. So I took the paperwork from the lender to my local DMV office. After some 2 hours frustrating wait, the window officer there did not know what they were doing and insisted me providing a "car value" and sign on an incorrect places of the title and form, even though there's no transfer involved. As a lessee, I am not the owner of the vehicle, so I should not sign anywhere on those forms. I had to look for a "DMV business partner" which hopefully could do my registration correctly. I called around and some of them did not know the what "lease assumption" is, others did not know how to do it properly. The AAA local office also refused to do it. I finally found a DMV business partner, Conar Auto Registration Services, where Mario was familiar with the process and provided a same-day appointment for me to complete it. I sent the paperwork to him through texts and he guaranteed me that I had the proper documents to complete the process. I was in and out for 20 minutes with a new registration card at the end of the transaction. They charged $89 service fee on top of DMV fee ($15), and a 3% convenience fee for debit card transaction. To be honest this is on the higher end, but I'm happy with their service at the end of the day. read more

I called, they came, and all my DMV problems were handled, quickly, and efficiently. I had a problem with incorrect VIN #, on my antique vehicle. I called up Conar Auto Registration Services, spoke to Mario, who was great. He came the next day, on time, as promised. He did a "Vin Verification", and then went to DMV to get me the corrected tags. I did not have to leave my house. It was great! I will use them, whenever I have problems with DMV. Great. Super quick and easy. I walked in and in less than 15mins walked out the door with registration and tags for two motorcycles. Even with an appointment at the DMV you couldn't do that! Great people to work with- very friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5? Price. You do have to pay for the convenience- $49 for their service to register your vehicle. It was expensive, but not having to take time out of work, not having to deal with the DMV pretty much makes it worth it. It would have been nice to get a break on my second bike but hey... we all have to make a living I guess. Even though it's kinda pricey, I'll be back. read more

My husband bought a Mustang on eBay and needed to register it in California. Mario and everyone there were super friendly and helpful. There were even some issues with completing the transfer, and they followed through until it was done. So, was it worth $49 for them to do the leg work? Absolutely!! The DMV, as everyone knows, is stressful. Appointments are hard to get, and if you don't have one, you will wait at least an hour, maybe two, to talk with an often surly agent. I had to write a review even though I have never actually purchased services from this business. I purchased a new vehicle and decided to sell my old one, rather than getting peanuts for it by trading it in to the dealership. The sale of my old vehicle was complicated by the fact that I had just paid it off and had not received the title. The previous finance company has a policy that requires them to hold the title for 30 days if the vehicle was not paid off in cash, but I had already sold the vehicle and accepted payment. This left me in a rather uncomfortable position with the person that I sold the vehicle to (a friend). At this point I was rather desperate to find some resolution, so I called Conar Registration Services and spoke to Mario. Mario was very helpful, informative and seemed genuinely happy to take the time to explain (over the phone, without me paying for services) exactly what I needed to do in order to allow the purchaser to register the vehicle while waiting for the title. You really don't see a willingness to help unless there is payment these days, so I have to give this business 5 stars. I had a weird car registration situation as I bought a car from a dealer in NV but live in SJ. They told me they'll handle the title transfer to just go to my local DMV, pay taxes, send us receipts and they'll process. Well, on the dealer side and DMV side there were a number of errors made. First of all I'm writing this review so that these guys stay in business forever, I hope they never go out of business. I went into their store today, first time, to register an out of state vehicle that I bought yesterday, I was in and out of their in less than 20 minutes and got my license plate and registration done. They filled out all the forms including the vehicle identification form and everything for me. So easy. I did this for my self 3 years ago and it was a nightmare dealing with the DMV and even AAA member services (they can't do complicated DMV transactions), but with Conar (Mario helped me), the entire experience was fast enjoyable and above all else affordable. California DMV is a joke. Mental ward has more sanity than DMV. Thanks to Mario and his team you can actually live with this.
