Was referred to this place by my lactation consultant, who as mothers know is a very trusted peer. I used to get so frustrated at the thought of going to an urgent care, but not at 8-2-8. They have great business hours because we all have to work and a lot of urgent cares tend to close when I get off. For the staff , i truly appreciate the working hours and trust me, I hate having to go close to closing but it is often what works. I appreciate the cleanliness, speed and organization of the clinic. First things first - If you have Tricare, I would avoid this urgent care. They do not know how to properly bill for Tricare select or Tricare prime and you will always end up paying over your co pay. I've showed the office multiple times where it states $26 on tricare.mil under plan costs for Tricare Select Group B. They state that it doesn't populate that way for them and that tricare in fact gives them $52 co pays for select at times. The front office person was extort rude and not understanding what I was trying to relay. They tried to refuse me care for a $2 balance after I've been back and forth with their billing as they are incorrect and have been multiple times for both me and my children. I have a head injury and was almost turned away for $2 that wasn't even owed on my end!!! Ridiculous. She kept saying she'd have to try to contact her manager and see if he was available but with it being the holiday, he probably wouldn't be. I ended up saying "You know what? F it. I'll pay however much today and contact your billing and also Tricare tomorrow because I just really need someone to look at my head". I was bawling my eyes out and the front desk lady couldn't have cared less. Second thing I think is worth mentioning is that my 5 year old daughter was seen for an infection and we told them point blank that she was allergic to penicillin and that she'd had multiple bad reactions to it in the past. They prescribed it to her anyways after assuring us that they wouldn't. When they followed up with a phone call they started "oh well, at least you know she's not anaphylactic to it anymore" . I was LIVID!! After that my daughter never went back. I only went today because it is a holiday and it was the only place without an extremely long wait time. I, however, learned my lesson and my family and I won't be back! read more

I usually do not trust any urgent care and the type of care I usually get isn't as great but this location I would highly recommend . The care of quality I got from PA Sandra was absolutely amazing, caring and gentle. Dr Bremmer's level of knowledge was topnotch and the way he answered all my questions made me feel comfortable. The MAs were so helpful and professional. The only negative thing I can say about this place is the wait and the front desk weren't very discreet about what we're being discussed knowing there are other patients around. read more

Had to go here to take care of a laceration on my toe. Was able to make an appointment online was given a call back within 10 minutes got to the location and the staff were incredibly courteous and helpful and professional. Carlos was the first RN that I saw and he was amazing and then P.A. Talia stepped in and took over. I can't say enough about this person. She was extremely kind and professional and super super nice. Had a huge cyst on my back that needed to be removed. Called 8-2-8 Urgent Care... they said come over right now... I went went straight to the back and Dr Hammer and his assistant Marilee fixed me up in like 10 minutes. Blown away by how quick the whole process was. Dr. Hammer is this super nice guy who makes you feel totally at ease. I was very comfortable through the whole procedure. And Marilee was super funny. The kind of person that makes you feel comfortable immediately. Honestly, if you need urgent care, this place rocks. Seems like a decent place but when I went in, they had no provider on site for 2 to 3 hours but they're supposed to be an 8 to 8 urgent care clinic I would highly suggest calling before going in and potentially going somewhere else that actually has a true urgent care model of being open when they say they're open available to see people. I have been to 8-2-8 Urgent care 4 times to be seen for migraines and lower back pain. My recent visit I was helped by Miss Jessica, Ms. Marilee, Ms Madison and Ms Lovepreet. So Sunday, I had gotten back from Montana. I was on vacation and I noticed when I was down in Oceanside at my daughter's house. That my leg was swollen and so I called my doctor. She told me to go to urgent care. See if I could get an ultrasound so I went to 828 urgent care there in Oceanside. And the two employees that helped me were outstanding employees very kind and caring they had people coming in left and right and I was having problems with my insurance. We got that straightened out and I was in and out of there with no problem, thank goodness it wasn't serious, but I'll tell you if I ever had to go to urgent care and I was in Oceanside that would be the place I would go. Worst experience. Was told wait time would be 2 hours and finally was seen after 3 1/2 hours. I would have went somewhere else if they had been honest. I also noticed several that came in after me, being seen before me. I also wanted to be seen for 2 separate issues but was told they could only treat one. So I would have to come back at another time for the other issue, so Staff appeared fine but i would give a 0 star if I could and never coming back to this place. read more

Merrilee my nurse couldn't have been more amazing. I had taken my mom back in May '25 for a fall and she was so sweet and caring. Then I had my own fall and there was Merrilee as sweet as ever. Never rushed us in either appointment and listened to everything we had to say. She even called me later to see how I was doing. The doctor/PA we had was amazing as well. I'd like to leave excellent feedback for 8-2-8 Urgent Care in Oceanside, CA. While raising my children and also for myself I have been to many urgent care facilities but this is the first time I wanted to make sure I left feedback for one. When Jessica and Grace at the front desk greeted and helped me I felt like they cared about me as a patient. They were friendly, made sure they answered my questions, and registered me to be seen. It wasn't long before I was called back to be evaluated. Holly Prentice saw me and asked all the questions to see what was going on. Holly was also very nice and professional and made me feel like I was in good hands when she ordered the tests. Then Kristen her MA came in and got information and did her job; and again a very nice, caring person. She was followed by Karen, MA, who did her tests and it didn't take long that the results were ready. All of the staff was very caring and made sure I was okay. They sent my prescriptions to the pharmacy right away and I was ready to leave and again I was so glad I came to 8-2-8 Urgent Care. I have never been to any Urgent Care was efficient and caring as they are. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of Urgent Care who wants to leave feeling good about their decision and the service you expect and receive. read more

5 stars for 8-2-8 Urgent Care in Vista. I went in with a brutal ingrown toenail and Dr. Hammer basically performed a "toe reset" and surgically removed the nail. He was professional, gentle, and walked me through everything so I didn't freak out. Marilee was the MVP--friendly, calming, and super helpful. Whole staff was great. Would not recommend ingrown toenails, but I do recommend this urgent care. read more

I had occasion to visit 8 to 8 Urgent Care in Oceanside recently. It was just before scheduled closing, and I was fortunate to be welcomed in and attended to. My professional provider was Madison Ramirez PA and the nurses on duty. I received immediate assistance from the providers, assessing my medical situation. Madison quickly decided to send me to the local ER for the care and testing she felt was warranted. She did write a referral for me. I felt well cared for in 8 to 8 Urgent Care. We have used this facility before and always feel comfortable using their services. read more

I've come here a couple of times and it was always fine, but my visit today sort of cemented for me that I'll always come here when I need help. Especially because of Marilee. She put me so instantly at ease when I walked in as a ball of nerves, anxious tears in my eyes, and I would pay any amount of money to have that kind of care in this kind of situation. To be honest, if she ever leaves, I would probably find where she went and convince my insurance to put that place in network, she was so good. She is such an asset to your team, more than you probably know, and certainly more than most people have the patience to write in a review but she deserves it so much, so here I am. Another asset to your team was the PA who saw me - Sabrina. She also sensed my anxiety and was extremely kind to me and made sure I felt okay with both the process of the exam and the after care. I went to this place with a ear infection and when I got to see the doctor I told her what a friend of mine who's been an RN for 30 years told me to do to ask for a z-pack. The doctors blatantly told me that Z-Pak would do nothing for a bacterial infection. She prescribed me a 7. 5ml bottle of ear drops CVS was not going to give to me because it was going to the VA and cost $280!! Do not use the service because the evidently work on a kickback scheme and don't know what the f they are talking about!! I'm notifying the VA that this place committed fraud. read more

Proving once again why urgent care is a waste of time and ER's are overrun.... First, don't bother with the online check in. Did that first thing in the am; got a call that a room would be ready when we got there. Lie. They still took people in the waiting room before us and we had to wait an hour. Would have been better to just go first thing before the wait filled up. My kid presented with a swollen painful throat and fever on day 4, worsening not improving. Told them that while he's handling it during the day, his symptoms are markedly worse overnight with fever over 103 and difficulty breathing; I had to check his airway every hour (stridor, increased resp rate, prolonged expiration, diminished lung sounds). They swabbed for strep (negative) and then sent out a throat culture. And.... Yep that's it. No meds, no diagnosis, no treatment. My kid wouldn't drink the liquid oral steroid so the nurse threatened him with a shot. To be clear, I said I was totally fine with a shot. She said she was going to get it so he began to cry, then she returned without it and sent us home with nothing. What the hell? So it was an empty threat to scare a child?? Or did they wus out because he cried?? Either way, how do you just lie to a kid and scare them like that?! So no oral steroids even though they also lied on the discharge form and said it was given (guess what - it comes in pill form too), no inhaled steroid prescription (the mode of choice for kids and airways...), no steroid injection, and of course no antibiotics since they didn't know the diagnosis and docs are scared of prescribing those now. "Could be covid" is the new cop-out. So tonight when he can't breathe again, guess where we'll be? The ER, getting actual treatment / prescriptions.. Total waste of time today and ER space tonight.
