It appears that all almost post acute/hospice services including physical therapy services lack quality care. My daughter chose this facility, primarily because it's the closest location accessible to her, and literally walking distance to the hospital, which he would be transported to since he's paralyzed. That said, I'm just very disappointed. The recent negative reviews are accurate. The response time when he presses a button or we press a button while we're there visiting him at times is very unacceptable period. I get that they're understaffed, but for all of the money that the VA is paying for him to be there, you would think they would at least hire a few more people, and he's not the only veteran. there are a lot of veterans that are there, and they're not well taken care of. And I'm saying this based on his experience and what we've witnessed - all family members, friends and his former coworkers from the base-March Air Force. The other issue that is disturbing, is that some of the younger staff, particularly the younger males & the trainees (don't exactly know what their titles are), I've caught laughing right in front of him, making fun of him to his face, most of them smell like weed, and complaining! Complaining about him right in his face. He's not quite dead yet, and he's still coherent and understands what's going on. It's just very disrespectful and quite cruel! They also make fun of him because he's freezing, and he has two or three blankets, and constantly asking for thicker socks, and for the temperature to be warmer, and at times he's confused because of dementia, but he still coherent at times, (which is a majority of the time), he just has his moments. Now I want to give 5 stars to the head nurse, which I forgot her name,, 2-3 female nurses that are working on the C rooms section , I can't remember their names, but they are always empathetic to him including the one young gentlemen, with blonde hair & accent, he always remembers us. And last, but not at least, the 2 receptionists at the sign-in desk-entrance, if I forgotten anybody for praise. I apologize and can update this review later, because I do believe in giving credit where it's due. But for all the staff that laughed at him, complained about him and treated our loved one poorly and disrespectful. Shame on you!! The day is going to come when it's going to be your loved one, perhaps a spouse going through the same exact situation as they get old. However, after 9 months of visit that office, our baby didn't see the pediatrician once. She always saw a nurse or nurse practitioner and I know there's nothin wrong with that. That place just felt busy, it wasn't warm or inviting, and they just seemed like a "get them and get them out" kind of place. Not Loma Linda. We found out that Dr. Chow had some openings and we jumped right on it. Out of the gate, the experience was so much better. While we were checking in at the front desk, Dr. Chow walked by and waved hello like she remembered us but she couldn't possible remember us from 9 months ago, right? Well...she did. As soon as she walked in the door the entire vibe was peaceful and friendly. She even brought a book for our baby to play with and started playing with our baby girl. At one point, the baby wanted to play with her and she even went around with Dr. Chow to greet the other nurses in the office. Dr. Chow truly knows how to work with kids. We never felt rushed. I politely declined and asked her to call me once it's fixed--gave my name and number clearly. Her response? "If you don't hear from me today, just call back tomorrow." I said no again--please call me when you can actually access the system. Crickets expected. For a top-tier health system, this level of phone-tag frustration and zero follow-through is unacceptable. First impressions matter, especially when you're trusting them with your health. Too bad--the reputation had me hopeful. Moving on to providers who actually answer and value my time. When we were seen by Dr. Ian Pope, he did not address the reason for our visit. Instead, he focused only on my child's chronic condition and told us to go to a children's emergency room. This was confusing and frustrating, as my son has been seen at this urgent care for years and has never been turned away for something like a cough. We DO NOT need an ER just for a cough.  The interaction felt rushed and dismissive. We were not given proper discharge instructions at the time, nor did we receive clear communication about the visit. There was no thorough assessment, no vitals were taken, and we were not provided with a note for school. To make matters worse, the discharge paperwork we later received did not reflect what actually happened during the visit, which is extremely concerning. Additionally, the facility itself has declined in quality. The air conditioning was not working, and there was only a small fan being used in the front area, which raises concerns about comfort and hygiene. Overall, this was one of the worst healthcare experiences I've had. Despite living nearby, I would not return or recommend this location to others unless absolutely necessary. The level of care and professionalism has significantly declined over the past year.
