This place is a fucking joke! And I am referring to the one at 5333 Mission Center Rd- specifically Dr. Smith's front desk staff. They NEVER run on time! I've always had to wait over an hour to see the doctor, and that's when I've had an appointment. Then when I finally see the doctor for my follow up on my surgery, he rushes through the check up so fast I barely get a chance to ask all my questions. Also anytime I call it is like the desk staff has no clue what's going on. For example, I have been going to them since May of last year (2019) for this injury and I always need a job specific form filled out for my work and they ALWAYS forget to do it and I have to remind them EVERY TIME. In turn I have to wait even longer to get out of there because then they have to hunt down the doctor to fill it out. There was only one girl there that would remember to do it, but I haven't seen her in awhile so she probably got smart and got the hell out of there. Also they are terrible at getting the paperwork filled out for more therapy. I had requests for PT denied because the office did not send back the appropriate form in time nor the right ones. My adjuster told me they were still waiting on my doctor to fill out the utiliization review forms of why I needed therapy and he either forgot or didn't get it probably because of his horrible staff. It's seriously the medical care version of the island of misfit toys. And don't get me started on their physical therapists... I only went to this facility because I am new to SD and this is the place my job refers us for workers comp injuries. Needless to say I am getting a second opinion and switching care facilities ASAP. Doctors are trash! Save you time an energy DO NOT visit this clinic unless you really have to. I'd give them 0 stars but I can't. they wanted my dad to get surgery on two fingers that weren't damaged after 8 months of seeing them once a week and telling them which fingers were actually damaged. Second time I've been here. Both experiences have been beyond awful. Definitely need to change up the website as the commentary on the hold time, while waiting to go through, because they are not committed to getting people well and back to work. 2 hour wait MINIMUM even with an appointment. Was told that the appointment time is " a suggeston" Always the reason is " we are understaffed". I hope every single front staff person there is quoted the wrong wait times at restaraunts and airports for ever more. I've worked in restaraunts with more efficient systems for handling crowds of people other than saying, "we're understaffed" If you are understaffed, then don't tell the person calling to come in- wow, what a concept. If you are understaffed, consider the concept of "ON call". If you can't keep staff that isn't "new" maybe look inwards and see that YOUR system is broken and there is a reason that you have heavy turn over in your front office. When you KNOW better, DO better. There is no acceptable reason for a patient who is in pain (did you notice?) to sit in the office and wait for ya'll to push a pen around before they can go home and start healing. I sat in the stupid waiting room across from some nasty looking girl who was obviously there with her boyfriend- her mask down and she was eating what seemed like an entire picnic in her hoodie pouch. I'm finally seen by the doctor for a whole ten minutes --- and yet is always takes 2 hours to see the doctor? One hour for me to finally get out of there to go home, and this is after I went up to the front and pleaded with them for me to be released. "We are waiting on your paperwork" WTF paperwork for an hour???!!! They book me an appointment with PT and I call before going ( it takes no less than 7 calls to get through finally- not kidding at all) to clarify/ confirm and they told me I would be going to PT and not have to wait and yet I'm back and waiting again...no PT appointment-- they decided they wanted to start over and see me again from the beginning. NO! Stop! Stop hurting me with your ridiculous system. PT - has me again waiting, even though there is nothing else going on- All this waiting to be taught how to breath through my stomach and not my chest. They had me do this with tendonitis too. Guess what ? I can tummy breathe all day long and get all kinds of zen, but when you have me waiting in your office with a neck in pain, I'm back to full on neck spasms. Learn how not to have people wait. Learn to respect appointment times. Learn how to treat patients like patients, who are in pain and need compassion and quick helpful treatment, not rudeness and running in circles with all this alleged "paperwork". And to be clear- this Concentra isn't inundated with hurt people bleeding to death who needed to get in front of me. These are mostly people with "appointments", I mean suggested times, to come in. For whatever reason, no matter what I am doing at this Concentra, I must wait until there are literally no other patients in the waiting room before I am seen. In my opinion they are not a health CARE facility, but more of a torture chamber. read more

Gripping my bleeding wrist and losing feeling in my hand. Everyone went before me twice and no one in there was sick or injured. Really really bad practice. Very high wait times if any help at all. Do not go here for your DOT medical examination! For starters, there is no new law on DOT physical sleep apnea for truck drivers. As it stands today, the U.S. Department of Transportation, or DOT, does not require sleep apnea testing for truck drivers. However, DOT does require that truck drivers get a medical examination in order to hold a CDL license. The medical examiner is the one who decides if the driver needs sleep apnea testing. DOT says that it's up to your medical examiner whether or not your medical condition will interfere with your driving. The guidelines for this have been set out by the FMCA. Unfortunately, this clinic has their own corporate policy that ignores that and they flag drivers for sleep apnea testing just for having a neck circumference of 17 inches or larger, while completely ignoring all the other criteria set out by the FMCSA. Get a second opinion. The FMCSA has made an important clarification on whether a trucker can seek a second opinion when obtaining a physical from a DOT-certified medical examiner. The short answer is yes, but there's more to it. Chuck Horan, who oversees the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners administered by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, says he's received questions and concerns from drivers who are told by a medical examiner or someone else in the chain that getting a second opinion is not allowed on a Department of Transportation physical. Horan says yes, drivers can get a second opinion, as long as they provide a full and honest history to their medical examiners and do not cross the line into illegal "doctor shopping." Most of the concerns and complaints received by FMCSA - and by OOIDA's regulatory and business services staffs - are about the inconsistency in how the certified medical examiners interpret DOT regs and guidance when conducting driver physicals. Some examiners have run roughshod over drivers on the issue of sleep apnea, insisting that apnea testing is a regulation even though it is not. When I brought all of this up, I was told it didn't matter what I read, they have their own corporate policy. The staff was rude and unprofessional. Don't let this place endanger your livelihood. YOU'LL THANK ME LATER. acupuncturist will cancel appointments while you are on the way to the office. will even go as far as leave the office without telling you, even after confirming the appointment earlier that day, only to have the staff lie to you upon your arrival about the air conditioner not working forcing you to reschedule... meanwhile they are still taking patients. they couldn't take me because the acupuncturist left early, not because it was hot. the waiting area had 6 people, yet i had to reschedule. i was also told by the doctor their only responsibility is that I can do my job, not to take the pain away. i cant work with the amount of pain i suffer from. completely ridiculous. nice guy, but thats complete BS. if I cant do my day to day responsibilities like I have been able to the last 30 years, that is a problem. the physical therapist thinks a temporary distraction from your pain is a win. the pain is still there, you are just distracted from it while stretching. somehow that's a win. 2 different physical therapists have contradicting exercises. i explain this to one of the PT and his eyes open wide and jaw drops. leaves the room for a good 5min. comes back and tells me everything the other PT told me was wrong. not to do any of the exercises he suggested. one PT suggests what he calls a 'walk it off' method, while the other suggests against it. 'walk it off' exercises force you to do things that cause pain in order to reduce the pain? i have no idea. it didnt make sense. if your wrists hurts, do twisting exercises so your wrist continues to hurt more. i never saw that other PT again. finally, several of the nurses and doctors were making subtle suggestions to stop coming in for treatment. it started to get awkward. i went as far as to ask a nurse if they didnt want me there anymore because of everyone saying i dont need to go there any more. if i should find a new clinic. they made it uncomfortable for me. if i still experience pain every day, i feel like i should continue to schedule appointments. the problem was, their methods weren't working. ultimately, my wrist feels no better since my first visit. i am currently seeking a new clinic now who hopefully can help me. read more

I didn't want to think this Concentra was like all of the rest, but it is. First, my mask fit test form was filled out incorrectly and rejected by my company, which I had to have fixed. NEXT, the urine drug screen that I needed to have done didn't have all of the drugs that needed to be tested for, yet again I needed to come back and repeat the urine drug screen. To top it all off, the medical assistant didn't know how to properly stick me for labs, I tried to guide her as I'm an RN and she failed to get the vein twice. It was to the point that I literally HAD TO STICK MYSELF to get the labs that were needed. I thought this was the end of my awful experience, but no. As I head to the counter to check out, the medical assistant realizes that she didn't fill the correct vials for the labs needed. Are you freaking kidding me?! Luckily the next person was able to stick me, no issues. This Concentra is an embarrassment and I'm not really sure why my company continues to use them. Get it together! read more

This place purposely left me without medications when they switched over from the previous corporate health conglomerate to the new one Concentra. They immediately canceled my refills on a blood pressure​ medication and refused to assist in a refill. I couldn't get in to see a new doctor for nearly 2 months so now I am just without a medication I've taken daily for 6 years because of their greed. If you want the worst health care.... this is it. I was unfortunate enough to use them to get a medical examination for my class B license. First I had to be put on blood pressure medication and come back. Then I was told that I had to have a sleep study because my neck is too large (something they waited to tell me for some reason). They never authorized the sleep study or told me I had to get it authorized by another doctor. Now I have to find another doctor to get another examination to get a sleep study authorized and find another place to get the study and if that isn't enough find another place (Because I'd never use these quacks again) to authorize my class B exam yet again. Sadly I came into this clinic recently and had to deal with this place. I first came up to the front counter and ended up dealing with a guy who's name starts with an M. I asked a few questions of him he then turned to a female up front who's name starts with a P and wore neon colored lipstick that looked better suited to working the corner or servicing clowns then working in a medical center, they sat there speaking only Spanish to each other and ignoring me. Finally the guy M turned back to me gave me an answer with a bit of attitude, I was already upset because I'm sorry but if your speaking in front of a patient you should speak English not Spanish we do not live in Mexico this is California . Then once I was finally called back I was helped by a female who's name started with a V and the service got even worse she barely paid me any attention she kept texting people in front of me using her Apple watch how fucking rude is that?!?!?!? Like I know what an apple watch is your not checking the time your sitting there scribbling on the tiny screen sending texts. I finally made it into the room and I was was just wishing I went else where the PA came into the room her name started with an S or maybe a C I am not sure but she was the nicest person ever!!! She listens to my concerns and I was really wanting an x-ray just to make sure my injury was not that bad she said she would order one. I changed into the gown I was given and the x-ray tech came in his name started with a D I think and he was really nice and did my x-rays and was professor and a joy to talk to i was not injured as bad as I feared I got my stuff and left the PA and some of the team in the back are quite nice but this clinic needs some changes read more

I made an appointment beforehand and arrived 15 minutes early. One person at the front desk was friendly and nice; the second was short and snippy. The third lady I dealt with had an attitude and was completely unprofessional. Filled out the paperwork and began the longest wait. What's the point in making an appointment?! If it wasn't the only place I was allowed to go to do my physical for this particular job, I wouldn't have come here. If you have a choice DO NOT CHOOSE HERE. Although I did think it was nice of the doctor to come out and apologize to the entire waiting room for the long wait. (Turns our they were short staffed - I would've preferred to have been notified and reschedule my appointment) Then when I step outside for a phone call (after asking the front desk and they said it was fine because there were 2-3 people ahead of me), they call me and say it's my turn. I walk back in after one minute - they skipped me even though I said I was coming back. Then proceed to tell me to wait another 10 minutes minimum before Being called again. Don't waste your time here if you have a urinary tract infection. I was asked by the woman at the front desk what I needed to be seen for right off the bat. I let her know and asked how long the wait would be. She said about an hour. I waited for 50 minutes before she called my name. She then proceeded to tell me the doctor couldn't see me because they can't test for a urinary tract infection. Why not? I wan't not given that information. She asked if I would like to speak to the doctor so they could explain, as to which I agreed. Then ended up saying the doctor was busy and couldn't speak to me. What kind of urgent care doesn't offer this kind of testing? Its a simple urine test which is also how they test for drugs. So, I ask again, how does an urgent care that offers drug testing on their website not able to test for a urinary tract infection??? read more

The Concentra in Oceanside and Santee are HORRIBLE!!! They put the CON in Concentra. 1st let's talk about Oceanside...I've had several appointments since January and not once was I ever seen within 15 minutes if arriving on time for a scheduled appointment. Today I waited for a hour and twenty minutes. It wasn't buisy AT ALL. I've also told of pain to the PA and they give tylenol. I was in a car accident for crying out loud!! In between me going to the one there I had an emergency and went to Santee. I could not sit down or bend at the waist. My blood pressure was high as well as my pulse, classic signs of pain outside of a patient saying my pain is rated at 8/10. I reviewed the notes and no mention was given of the high blood pressure or pulse when the Dr. made a point out of telling me it was high in the first place. I am a nurse I know how it goes but the service is horrible. The only Concentra worth anything is the one at Carlsbad. I think Oceanside Concentra is scamming workers comp. insurance. Why else would I wait a hour and a half for an appointment only to see the PA for the last 15 mins of the visit. Super Shady!! read more

Whenever I need to be seen and seen quick this is the place I go. The doctor is great, patient friendly, and caring. Staff is nice and facility is clean. I recommend it and I even drive 20 minutes to come here as there is no go-around but straight to the point medical care with solid recommendations. read more

Dr. Farzaneh Maghsoudy is a rude, impatient, and incompetent doctor. I went in for a check-up and found myself in a situation where I was repeatedly interrupted, demanded I answer questions I had previously attempted to explain, followed by her raising her voice and rolling her eyes at me. She went as far as to call one of the office staff to come in the room and then continued to talk down to me. She then proceeded to tell the office staff to handle it as there were other patients to be seen and that she didn't have time for me. The office staff were left standing, just as shocked as I was and extremely apologetic, letting me know that this was unacceptable behavior from the doctor, that the Center Operations Director would be notified and that I would be contacted the next day. I was grateful to the office staff for stepping up and handling the situation the best they could, knowing that they are not ultimately the ones responsible for this doctor's behavior, but simply taking the time to attend and care for a patient all while the doctor failed to do so. read more

Waited a while to be seen. When we finally got in the back the dr. Rushed us, acknowledged that I had a swollen throat and Said he did not like giving out medicine so my 5 yr. old and I left without medication. He also said I did not have strep throat. Went to the e.r. After I left there and it turns out I did have strep throat. Doctor also touched nurse inappropriately. Almost grabbed her ass when leaving the room at one point. Very poor service. I am absolutely appalled by the service and my experience with concentra. They are one of the most unprofessional health care providers I've ever visited and "trusted" my time with. I recently had a major "work comp" accident that resulted in injury. The staff are highly uneducated. Be careful with your personal information because I found out they do not shred it they throw it in the trash if not fully completed with your SSN clearly in view. RAMIKA should not be able to work the "front desk" by any means for she has not one quality of customer service nor any compassion for the patients. The girl with the train of very unprofessional/bad choice of tattoos running down her arm did not know how to work a computer for the simplest of things when I had questions. I have multiple broken bones currently and the ortho (Dr.Smith) that has examined my injuries a few times now said I had no broken bones to begin with (as my leg and foot are huge blue and cannot hold weight) when he looked back at my new X-ray. ABSURD. These people are a joke. They grabbed half the staff off the street and threw them in a building with scrubs to make you believe they are real doctors. The doc could not read a simple X-ray of a bone I clearly know is broken. Please do not go here if you want to get better by any means with your current situation/injury. This review is for physical therapy. What does it take to schedule an appointment here? Almost a month I called for an appointment and couldn't get through. Left a message and hoping to get call back. No callback. Two days later I tried another way and went and spoke to a person from the front desk and she patched me through physical therapy. I was able to speak with someone from that department and one question he asked me was if I was with Tricare? I said yes and he then told me that they have to call me for an appointment and should wait for a week or so. Which made me wonder - Is my insurance (Tricare) not good enough that I have to wait and could not make an appointment right there and then? I am a retired veteran and I'm familiar with the "hurry up and wait" mantra. So I waited three weeks and still no call. So I called back and left another message two days ago and am still here waiting. Needless to say, I moved on and called Tricare, they had me set up to a different. read more

Dr. Pohl and the staff at Concentra are AMAZING!! I have a concussion and dealing with workman's comp has been a nightmare until I started seeing Dr. Pohl and staff at Concentra. The doctor is caring, kind and knowledgeable and will help you!! Sometimes you may have to wait a bit to see a doctor here but it is worth it!! Good care is difficult to find these days and Concentra is doing it!! I highly recommend them!! read more
