I had gone into Urgent Care a long while back to get checked for (what I found out was) flu and strep. I said I had insurance that was previously accepted before - Adventist Health, from my parents who are healthcare workers in one of their hospitals - but it's an uncommon one in this area, so I expected it to have push back- as it tends to. However, the woman at front desk at the time was so adamant that I had MediCal or MediCare, and she would not listen to me when I tried to explain that it wasn't either of those things. It was just an insurance that isn't based in SoCal, but this clinic had previously accepted it, so I was deeply confused and bewildered. I got turned away immediately, and I had no chance to properly figure out what was going on. This isn't entirely about the care quality, because the few times I DID get accepted into care before this instance were good, and the doctors were kind, helpful, and descriptive. (A bit curt, but they are a busy clinic). However, I wish the front desk person handled the situation differently and explained it more kindly. It was nervewracking and very embarrassing. It is already difficult getting healthcare in San Diego due to my insurance, but it was even more confusing when this clinic suddenly didn't take it any more, then the front desk person kept saying I had a whole different insurance when I did not. Luckily, I went to a Concentra location in Kearny Mesa area, and they ended up taking the insurance, and I got tested properly for strep and flu. I really respect healthcare workers and I understand that things get very hectic, especially when there's a lot of customers and these workers have long and stressful hours. I just wish I was given that same level of respect in the moment, and I hope no other customer has to experience similar things. read more

0 stars. Longest wait time and feels like they do it on purpose. Was told initially 2 hour wait, after 2 hours front desk lady told me it had only been 1, which was not true. After 4 hours they call my name and I go and sit in the office with no one coming in for another 45 mins :) Luckily provider (the PA) was very nice. Was experiencing some difficulty breathing and decided to finally go to urgent care after no relief for about 4-5 days; I suspected a strained/sprained rib cage. I was in and out of the clinic in about 3hrs, which was much better than I anticipated. I felt heard by my doctor and respected by all the staff. By the end of my visit, I was prescribed meds and was able to pick up from my pharmacy hours later. Everything is good so far, my ribs have healed and I can breathe normally again. So far I haven't received a bill of any kind, and I wasn't charged at the clinic, so I would recommend for any urgent services! read more

Getting someone on the phone is a nightmare, that is if they even pick up. The phone tree just to speak to a person is infuriating and once you get to a person, if someone picks up, they will put you on hold and disappear. Doing anything over the phone is infuriating. Otherwise, PT is very nice and helpful (Nick is great!) as is their secretary. read more

Lets just say this is my second complaint on this office. I was switched here out of nowhere from other doctor so it wasn't choice. Dr. Jerry Fabrikant seems to be a doctor on qouta. He doesnt underline your injury if you are a big patient. I been with my injury on both feet for almost 3 years gaining weight, Depressed, etc. This doctor here from the beginning without looking at my file first told me walk 3 blocks every day, after a few months told me my injury swollen was because its hot, then after finally getting MRI told mri is not always right. For of all he has neglected my injury because of his bias. He has told me more then once when i say it hurts it shouldn't hurt there. Also they deleted my first visits told me couldn't find record first notes..you know ones that he told me walk 3 blocks a day on my injured feet. My MRI showed 15 things wrong on one foot and 11 on the other..i worked 20 years at my company standing up and walking majority..i worked on my injured feet for a whole year normally because i other doctor never gave restrictions.. then when i come to this office he literally ghost my injury like its nothing its only cuz im big when i wasn't this big almost 3 years ago when i got it. Gaslighting my injury not treating it as should be has put on continuous pain from Still not treating root of problem.. His office staff also just told my lawyer not doing his job getting me different doctor..Gaslighting the fact thier doctor is not doing his sworn in job as a medical doctor. My experience Monday 10/6/25 was a waste of time and very inconvenient. I got there somewhere around 8:45 AM, went to check in for my first Worker's Comp Injury appointment and was turned away. I was told that I needed a form from my employer in order to be seen. My employer had already told me they submitted all of my information and all I needed was to provide an authorization code. I asked the young lady at the front desk if she needed that, she said no, there was no way to look that up. She didn't even take the time to ask me or look up my name to see if I was even in the system. It was basically there's nothing she could do. I could have pressed the issue and asked for someone more experienced but I left, because I have little patience for incompetence. I contacted my employer, who in fact told me that they have this issue with your location often and told me that they submitted all of my information and there's no form that I need, just to go back with my authorization number and if there's any issues, call them while I'm there. I decided to call your office in advance this time to let you know I was coming in the next day and explained the situation from the previous day. The woman I spoke to on the phone said that she would forward my information to the front desk so that they would know when I got there. The whole unorganized mess made me decide to go to a different location. If they are confused by something this mediocre, I definitely would not trust them with my health. The worst place to pick if you got injured at work. Long wait times even if you have a appointment. 1-2hrs over your appointment time. You don't necessarily see the same doctor, and sometimes there are no doctored mmm just nurse practitioners. They never pick up their phone lines. So if you need to reschedule you have to force yourself to go in person. read more

Update: this is not a general doctors office. This is a place where you go for workers comp claims. They can also write prescriptions. But this is not a doctors office if you need treatment. When you call their labyrinth phone line all choices in the system eventually lead to a phone that rings forever... the only choice that leads to a real human is if you want to file a workers comp claim. - I went in on Friday. They did not take my insurance so I had to pay almost $300 out of pocket. Then they did not have the treatment needed in stock (apparently they ran out the day before) so they gave me a prescription so I could pay more $$ at CVS. They said they would call me for my test results on Tuesday. Still no call by Thursday so I called them. Spent 30 minutes navigating and being transferred around in their phone system. End result was no one could put me back in contact with the medical team and I still don't have my test results. I wish I had noticed that this clinic has 2 start review on yelp. Please don't go here. Please for your health and sanity do not go here. read more

I was so happily surprised by this Concentra! Everyone was so friendly and professional. Mr. Padilla was the medical assistant who helped me and he was great! The vibes here were phenomenal and the Doctor who saw me was friendly! People will rate urgent cares poorly because YES it usually takes a long time to see people. Urgent cares are usually understaffed and completely slammed with patients. This doesn't mean they aren't working hard and working fast! As far as urgent cares go, I would go to this location every single time. Thank you for the great service! read more

Looking at the reviews I will say they did answer my calls when I did call them so lucky for me lol. But I did a walk in for a physical and TB test. For a walk in I do feel I did get seen very fast and was done with every thing in a timely matter ( an hr tops) 2nd appointment for the read was a little shaky and why I took two stars away from the five. The have masks provided up front but today they didn't so I had to walk back to my car after waiting for 3-4 people Infront of me which I waited patiently without a mask. And when I came back I literally was walked to the back where she found my file and read my arm but the second incident was when I was walking out a repair man was walking in with out a mask and was in the back area in-between where the back office is and the receptionist is without a mask. Rules are rules and even with just needing to read a TB test she refused to even get my name/check me in without a mask so she stood firmly in that everyone needs to wear a mask. but that should be implied for anyone even the handy man that is exposed to same air as me read more

I am not the type to do reviews, no less take my precious time out to do this one in the midst of an on-boarding background check for a job. I waited around 45 minutes to be seen for blood work and a flu shot. I get my blood drawn semi-annually to say the least, but never have had something of this nature happen. I was a little suspect when the "nurse" didn't have a badge and just laid a pillow on my lap and then told me to make a fist and rest my opposite arm on that fist. She commented how vascular I am (which almost every Phlebotomist had done in the past" yet she didn't go into the large vein pulsating at the inner fold of elbow, instead she went off to the side. Another thing requested by my employer was the flu shot, which the clinic stated "We are out of the flu shot" alas, it IS flu season! I had to go to my own primary for the requested flu shot. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone! Do not go there unless you are a risk-taker with your body and health! Please see the attached pictures, before you look like I do! read more

I needed a medical exam for immigration. In prior of choosing Concentra I called about 8 different doctors' offices asking about pricing. Concentra quoted me at $120 and got an appointment for following week at 11:30am. I was super excited because the rest of the places all priced same service for around $300. Once I arrived at 11:15am for my appointment my credit card was run for $450 (!) I asked why such drastic difference and receptionist stated that $120 is just a base charge, however, on the phone it was sworn to me that $120 was a full charge. At that moment I needed to submit paperwork as soon as possible, so I decided, "fine. It is what it is." Then I spent an hour in waiting area. People around me (everyone who came significantly later than me) all rotated through and I was sitting there staring outside. I only lost my cool when a girl walked in saying she was an hour late for her appointment to the same doctor as me and they got her in right away. At 1:10pm I walked to the reception and said it was unacceptable that my waiting time to be seen is over an hour and it appeared that everyone else could just wonder in before me. From the name tag it look like a manager (or director?) was in charge of that shift at the reception and she said they were running behind. No apologies, no other explanation. I was shocked by this respond (given that I am paying over $400 for this service where YOU quoted me at $120) and then I said if I was not seen within 10 minutes I would like a full refund and would walk away. Magically, I was called in after 5 minutes. Come on, guys. You saw me in waiting room sitting and waiting patiently and you could not simply say, "thank you for your patience, we are very sorry, we are running late" and give me an opportunity to ask questions. I completely understand people calling off, only one doctor and all, but your customers are what your business is built upon. If you do not include us in the conversation, reviews like this will be your new reality. read more

Just a heads up for anyone reading this! If you have ANY flu symptoms you need a negative COVID test before walking in the door. Not sure what the point of an urgent care is if you have to do the testing beforehand. Good luck getting them to answer the phone. Took a week and a half of calling multiple times a day at various times before someone would answer. Left a half dozen voicemails, and not a single one returned. Made my appointment. The soonest they have is two weeks later, so now I am 3.5 weeks out since being "sent" to this location. I show up to my appointment, and they can't find it. I give them the exact time I called, and a description of the voice who I made the appointment. They say they don't have anyone there like that and only the person I am talking to does the appointments (female, the one I talked to was male). So after some arguing she gets the Manager (or someone higher up), and she says yay that guy doesn't work for us, I argued he answered your phones he was able to access my medical information from a different location, he better work for you that is a big violation. Then they say it as an intern and he didn't know how to make an appointment, well then you as a business are responsible for training someone or tell them not to do something they don't know how to do. He was able to access my medical information, and the appointment schedule so clearly he had a password to access the information on computer. After asking for a corporate number to make a formal complaint, they suddenly could honor my original appointment. The acupuncturist is OK, wasn't my cup of tea. Some days she seemed friendly other days she seemed annoyed I was there. read more

Worst scheduling and communication I have ever seen !!! I had to do my physical exam and drug screen for my new job. So I called concentra mission valley to ask if I can make an appointment or walk in, the person that responded said yes, sure you can walk in as long as it's before 3:30 (it's was 1pm when I called). So I went there to get my eval done, turns out they're really really crowded and have a huge line and my turn will be in about 2 hours. so I asked the receptionist again, why didn't she tell me that over the Phone. She responded that all those people "believe it or not" just came within the last 10 mins (that took me to get there). I said ok, as long as I have no other choice. I asked if I can go out to run some errands and come back. Their lead person responded kinda with an attitude, that If I leave to do anything, she can' t register me so it will take longer. I think she actually kept me waiting more than what I should have just cause I should my dissatisfaction with their scheduling. Now I'm stuck in for more than 2 hours, wasted of my day. The only good part about The whole experience is the Medical Assisstant that took my vitals,Alexander, decent and professional. Other than that they Really have bad communication skills for a place that's supposed to have all the experience about handling and scheduling visits. On another note The space looks clean but they don't have enough hand sanitizers in the place. Only 2 small bottles for the whole place. read more

Dr. Nancy Downey is biased and very rude, I had an appointment with her back in June for a workers comp claim that I had sat in there office hours every time I came to see her. She sent in another doctor to see me this day as she was too busy for me, although my appointment was with her. I asked one of the medical assistance if she would please get the doctor, because I did not feel that I received adequate care from the doctor that she had sent in the medical assistant went to retrieve her. They then told me that, since the other doctor had already seen me that she would not see me. I asked if they could retrieve the Doctor Who has seen me because I wanted to voice my concerns about the inadequate care that I had received. That doctor did not return however, Nancy, who could not see me in the beginning, did come to see me. I then explain to her what my claims adjuster explained to me, and proceeded to ask for further assistance in Care. She then rebutted, and stated that my information was wrong that she was denying my stress claim and she didn't want to see me. She was very biased because I told her I felt like I did not receive adequate care. She got upset and took that personal, and then reminded me of every service that they had slightly offered me when I had showed up. I didn't get any physical therapy, I received two arm splints and arm sleeve. I got ibuprofen, Tylenol, and was released back to work on restricted work hours. Again I did not feel that this was adequate enough care, and she should not have taken that personal. She proceeded to discharge me from her facility on my workers comp claim and Stated it was due to behavior and being argumentative. I should be able to raise any concern about in adequate care about my health that is about me without any doctor being biased because it is not personal to them. It is personal to me to get adequate care and if you want someone who is compassionate or who possibly would believe your injury because it look like she never believed, I had one don't go see Dr. Nancy Downey. at the Concentra located in Mission Valley San Diego she will not give you adequate care. Thanks for the Denied claim that I now have trouble seeing any doctors, and haven't been seen by anyone in over a month because of her comments. I appreciate all of your help Nancy Downey. Urgent care was fine until I had to do the 40 lb lifting eith PT, which was easy since I bench press my body weight, but they had you crawl on your hands and knees then they took your BP. Any bozo knows it will be high and should allow you to rest at least 10 mins and not take BP immediately. My BP prior to the lifting was 109/55 which the PT director thought was too low and does my doctor know about it. I told him yes and he goes on to say anything below 120/80 is of concern. WTF!! So my BP was high post exercise and they took it 3 times, eventually they did it manually and it was 128/80 something like that. So I told him that I don't k ow where he gets his info and that I work out 4-5 days a week doing kickboxing and boot camp. He then says as I was leaving, hope you have a better day.
