My review is for Concentra's Physical Therapy. Jess had helped me in my initial visit move my arm from less than 90 degree angle back up to 180 degrees. Thank you Jess, you helped me be a little less miserable over the weekend. I used to be skeptical about PT, but now I'm a believer. I just wish you had more help around there. I was last in for my DOT renewal at the urgent care last week. They only take walk-ins M-F 8am-2pm when I called ahead. I planned on taking care of it on my day off, but since I was already off that day for my kids appointments I thought I would sneak in, in an open window. I was surprised how I got in with ease and filled out all my paperwork on my phone. Maribel was great in getting me through all parts of testing and Dr. was the same one I had seen for my work injury got me in and out within an hour! I am impressed with their service and will be back here for all of my DOT needs in the future. Thank you all for getting me in and out! read more

I was a walk-in and had almost no wait. Staff was friendly. I was cash pay, no insurance and they had no issues with that. Flat rate was charged at the beginning of the appointment, with no hidden add-on fees at the end. Place was relatively clean, though shabby. Definitely gives off "drug testing for employment" vibes, but everyone was professional and kind. Doctor was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Overall, a positive experience. read more

I asked 4 times at the front if I could redo it and they just kept saying "just a bit longer" I was told I had 3 hours to redo and never got to do the redo. Horrible experience. Went in and was in a lot of pain. By the time I saw the doctor I haven't completed my C4 form so she told me what to write down. Well, that cost me everything. It was denied, I appealed it and then got another denial letter. By that time I had to pay for my Workman's comp bill. I called and they sent it to collections. What a joke! If you get injured on the job don't go here. You can actually go anywhere even a hospital. Hospital will give you better service since the quality of care was horrible. read more

Extremely difficult to get an appointment, and when you do get one the admin is disorganized and either misses your appointments because they didn't have it on their schedule, or they make you wait for an hour for an appointment you already scheduled. Additionally they don't do a good job at workers comp and make it extremely difficult to get your PT sessions in, they keep saying they're expired and need to resubmit it to the employer. Lastly, the actual PT sessions are led by someone who clearly is inexperienced in PT. It's 5 mins of random activities that don't actually do anything to fix you. They change the course everytime you come in and it's random. read more

The first time I went there is walk-in and I understand I will wait, I get there around 8:45am and be done around 2pm because the waiting is long but the second visit I had are scheduled at 10:45 am and I got there before my appointment and I still waited after 1pm at the waiting room and still no doctor show up to assist me. And this lady told me if I can't wait we can reschedule my appointment if I want too and I already waiting for over 2 hrs. I went to Concentra on Glendale Ave in Sparks with my wife for a work related incident. The front desk person KARINA MACIAS was the rudest young lady with a very nasty attitude towards my wife and I and when I asked her coworker what her name was, she heard me and seemed to be prepared for confrontation. I needed a physical for work and they sent me here. I walked in on a Tuesday around 2:15pm. The staff member at the front desk was very kind and efficient at doing her job. She checked me in and gave me paperwork to fill out. I waited about 10-15 minutes before someone called me back to check my vision, weight, and drew some labs. Next, I was brought into another room to wait for the doctor. After a 20 minute wait, a PA entered and completed my physical. She did her assessment and checked the medications/vitamins I am on. She was so kind and tried to make conversation. It only took 10 minutes and we were done. read more

Being they do occupational medicine and DOT physicals, my employer covers the costs. But a majority of my coworkers and myself all choose not to go there because they are so difficult. If u have a pain management doctor they will not sign off on your DOT physical. Even if ur prescribing doctor will sign off on your meds. I went in for an injury on my ankle and the doctor wanted to add an old back injury to the claim. I'm like no that's not what I'm here for. Warning... So I arrived at 3:30 pm for a pre-employment drug screen. It was pretty packed and I was told to consider coming back the next day. They had a 60 minute wait time. I asked to check-in and return as I had to pick up kids from school, they said I had to stay/wait there. I told them I'd just come back later as they close at 6:00 pm, but was told that I had to be back by 4:pm cut-off time for drug screen. So I know that urgent care gets busy, but the attitude of the girls at the counter was horrible. Since I'm not paying, I need the drug test for a job, so I had to deal with it. I did ask if it was blood or urine test, she said urine. I had an idea so I haven't urinated for awhile...I asked the lady if I could give the sample early, she flippantly said "no" and I could just go and drink lots of fluid as I waited. As I sat filling out the paperwork, they told 8 new people to comeback the next day as they were very busy. I had to drive 22 miles for this test. But again, what voice/choice do people have. It was very obvious that I was in one of those "you need a job, so you'll deal our crappy attitude. I mean, what choice do I have but to sit and wait. I would compare this place to the old style DMV where job tenure and government employment security allowed them to treat you like crap. I would have rather dealt with DMV. As each new person approached the counter, the receptionist gave a look of 'why are you bothering me' but as soon as the person left, she would turn and continue her gossiping to the other girls. As for employers, make sure you chastise Concentra or threaten to use a different company. Maybe, the threat of losing a contract will motivate these people to be more pleasant to the real client...the ones getting their tests, not the ones paying. Interestingly, the girls at the counter are laughing and enjoying each other's company. Just not nice to the people coming in. Note: I upgraded this from a 1 to a 2 because of the girl in the back taking the sample. She was very pleasant, happy and really enjoyed her Job. Her name was Kalira or Kamira. If you have a CDL, go elsewhere to have your physical done. Took over four hours, and the female doctor ordered a sleep study to be done. She even lied and said it was the law, even though the DOT does not require a study to be done. Heck they took my blood pressure three times and had a difference of 50 points systolic and 20 on my diastolic! I'm surprised they are still in business after all of that. read more

Concentra worst place to send an employee to, Employers should send their employees to a better place to get treatment!! They make you wait three hours just to go check on you and say, hi and they don't even care about your health and how you really feel. They take their sweet time, and get other people before me when they just arrived. People have a life, I need to take time off from work and also get late to places I need to be. They work on favor to employers and only say what employer would like to hear. No matter what kind of injury you have they don't care, they should close their facilities. Doctors are negative and they aren't there to help, the receptionist is rude, and when I ask for status on time when they would see me, she seems bothered and offers me to go home . The Physical Therapy portion is the only reason it gets any stars at all. The Doctor has no clue what is going on, always prescribing the wrong medicine or rediculous tests and is only there for about 3 hours on 1 day! The receptionist in clinic side has the personality of a brick! Why employees use them as a workman's comp doctor is a mystery to me! It took 3 hours, but they told me about how long it would take right when I checked in and their estimate was right on the money, so I appreciated that. I've been going here for years getting my CDL check ups done. Over those years the place has moved from a sleepy relaxed and slow paced place where they took hours to get you through. Now...they still take hours to get you through most of the time because there are so many people there. But the process seems a little smoother and way more efficient. This last time I was handled mostly by two ladies. The one at the front desk had a great attitude, but I could tell she wouldn't be putting up with any BS. Then when I got behind the door I got my friendly regular gal who took me through all the different hoops the DOT wants you to go through and then she dropped me off in the doctors room for the last few exams. Thorough, the doctor did all of his duties had me cough to the right and left and sent me out and on my way. Did I say hours? Today they weren't slammed so I was able to get in and out in just over and hour and a half. I wouldn't expect this any other time, I think I just got really lucky today. The staff is always professional here and always helpful. I wouldn't recommend anyone go here for anything but work related stuff though. Go and see someone else for personal stuff. Here are my hints. 1. Don't come in doing the peepee dance because they ain't getting you in any faster. 2. Make an appointment. It should save you some headache. 3. Bring some entertainment because the TV's might not have what you like. 4. Don't injure yourself or have an on the job accident that makes you need to come here in the first place. 4 stars because they are better than A-Ok...but can anyone really be a "fan" of a work related urgent care? read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My son was having a pretty hard time breathing. He arrived at this facility before they opened and was the first one there. He still had to wait quite some time before being seen. His breathing difficulty started to escalate and it was quite obvious it was becoming serious, yet the woman treating him stopped to take a personal cell phone call. Then the kicker is she told him that they did not have the correct breathing treatment there and told him to go to Renown or call an ambulance. They don't actually bill your insurance, and won't send you a bill. Sent a tiny sum to collections while my insurance had already negotiated a reduced rate. Went to Sparks Concentra for a contusion in my right hand. On my way there, was thinking this has to be the worst thing ive ever had to do. Can only imagine. What a fantastic experience at every level. It was an unbelievable all the way. And especially when getting to Physical Therapy. Had never had a positive PT experience in my life (and I'm old ). Jon met me at their front desk ~ immediately sat me down at a station. A most pleasant man. And to my great surprise COMPETENT beyond belief. He taught me how to complete the task every day and checked my ability to do the exercises correctly. I can never say I've never had PT that was useful again. Funny how Concentra hasn't claimed this business! It's a shame the DOJ requires use of this place because it's business module is set up for failure. DOJ physicals are done 8-2 only and from 8am they quote a 3-4 hour wait to completion time and they do not take appointments for them. They make appointments for all other services but DOJ has to wait. Is it to test the candidates patience? Front desk is not concerned at all for your personal time. Just too bad so sad for you. . Absolutely awful.. my boyfriend came here for a drug test and after waiting several hours was then told that there was a bulge in his pants.. insinuating that he was hiding something in his pants which was infact just his genitalia asking him to prove it and show them.. then asked "are you nervous" etc.. being that he did not want to pull down his pants in front of the staff member because he felt harassed and discriminated against he did not even get to take the test. This could mean he is losing a job opportunity that would have been to support our family. This is completely unacceptable to me and so rude.. based on the reviews it sounds like he isn't alone in his negative experiences here. read more
