Came through Conceptions Children's Resale 'cause wifey was looking for maternity clothes, and I'm glad we stopped in. This spot got some real gems in here. New stuff, lightly used stuff everything you actually need when you got kids. I like coming here to find clothes for my daughter and son. They always enjoy coming through too. We're big on thrifting and resale because kids grow way too fast to be paying full price for clothes they'll outgrow in a few months. Only thing that had me bummed was hearing the owner might be trying to sell the business. I really hope this place stays open, 'cause spots like this are important for families in the community. My husband and I were referred to this place by our good friend. We are expecting our first child and have no idea where to start. This resale baby boutique store was clean and offered high quality used baby everything! The lady who was working was super helpful and checked up on us multiple times. She answered questions that I had regarding strollers and baby carriers. We were only window shopping since it was a first time shopping for new baby. I was able to compare prices online and it seemed like the value was reasonable at this store. It seemed like all items were thoughtfully picked out. Not like a goodwill or Salvation Army. Sham business if you want to sell. Limited information on their website regarding the guidelines of selling so I went in personally to ask what the "rules" were. I was only told the times and dates for selling, and that they base what they buy on according to the season. That was all the information I was given. When I came in to try and sell some almost new baby clothes and shoes I was told (I am assuming by the manager who was very snooty) that they only offer store credit for any size under 5. A place that advertises as a baby resale place does not buy anything under a size 5. Make it make sense. I don't want store credit as my children are older and I don't have a need for much in that store. Clearly, this is a shady business that is just trying to drum up foot traffic. I have been shopping here for over 5 years and they are by far the best baby resale shop in San Diego. I have 3 kids and they always have the best brands for such affordable prices. The best part is they are constantly posting on their instagram and Facebook page so if you're busy like me you can shop over the phone and later pick up. We love them! read more

Not only does Conceptions offer a large, well-organized variety of children's clothes, but they also have a wonderful maternity section, and lots of helpful, unique accessories and gear. Everything is well-organized, clean, and fairly priced. While the selection offered is wonderful, the staff are even better. I had a fantastic experience with an employee named Zoey. She was incredibly kind and patient with my rambunctious, social toddler, who wanted to see everything she was doing at all times. When he had an accident, she even voluntarily ran out to my car to get my diaper bag. On top of that, Zoey helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I'd leave more stars if I could! read more

I love buying here, I HATE trying to sell here. I've had such a disappointing experience recently with trying to sell my stuff. the owner is super nice and the girls that work there are super nice but trying to sell is such a pain. I understand there needs to be a system in place to sell because otherwise they would just be overwhelmed with tons of stuff. But it gets complicated when there are schedule changes. First off the website has inaccurate times for when to call so the first time I called, I called at 11 but actually they start taking appointments at 10am. You have to call exactly one week ahead to get an appointment and if you're not on the phone at 9:59 am calling, all the appointments get booked up super fast. Then I finally booked an appointment and got a call the day before my appt. Saying that because of the rain I would need to reschedule to the following week because they couldn't take walkers and such in the rain. So I rescheduled (even though the rain ended up stopping by like 9 am anyway and I could have sold my stuff). Then this week they call saying that their buyers are sick so I would have to reschedule again. Well unfortunately I can't come in the following week. So I asked if it was possible to reschedule to the week after and was told that the system doesn't allow that. So I asked if they could just put a note down with my name and she said no because it would get lost in the shuffle...even though it's pretty easy just to tape it somewhere near the register, I know about half the girls there and there's only like 6 or so girls that work there so I'm sure it could be communicated easily. I think it's unreasonable to expect me to reschedule because of something that happened on their end and then not try to accommodate my schedule. And unfortunately I've been patiently waiting for awhile to sell and I really needed the store credit so that I could buy my daughter some new clothes because she's growing really fast and since things are so tight right now this is the best way I can get her clothes. UPDATE: I added a star because the girls worked really hard to accommodate me and get me into sell. Not really sure why that wasn't done in the first place but I'm appreciative for their effort and that I was able to get in. I still really love the store and the girls but just wish there was an easier system to sell. It may work the best for them but it's tough to get in for people who have demanding schedules. read more

The parking lot is shared with many other mom and pop shops near by. The biggest store in the shopping center this location shares is food 4 less. None the less you can definitely find parking. This store is ALWAYS clean and everything is organized. I'm always greeted with smiles. Which I'm grateful for since I have a demon toddler who enjoys running amuck in any store she goes to. I'm assuming all the women who work here our moms but again, that is an assumption. Regardless of them being mothers and understanding what it's like to have a crazy child I appreciate them being nice to me while my daughter acts like an ape from the San Diego Zoo. I've found it extremely hard to shop in stores when associates give me and my daughter dirty looks for her behavior. So this is a safe zone if you have a wild child. Every children's resale store has those terrible circle racks that I hate oh so much. Makes finding clothes a little difficult since they don't hold much clothes. They have those racks here to by save those for the clothes on sale. Here there normal clothes sale items are placed in tall straight line racks and make looking through clothes so much easier! I never leave without buying something, which makes the trips worth it. Whether it be clothes, toys, shoes or anything baby, they always have something. Leaving a regular store you're looking at spending about $100 for clothes, leaving this place you're looking at spending $34! What a steal. I don't know but I believe Danielle is the owner? Kids grow up and eventually outgrow everything we buy them... So it was in our nature to start thrift shopping, it was the best decision ever. For half the price or even more then half, we walk away with a lot for a bargain! I usually come here with my little girl every Saturday and this place doesn't disappoint! Great price, selection, and helpful staff. They usually post a lot of stuff they get in on Instagram (preferred choice) and you can either call to put on hold or even purchase over the phone, great way to get what you want when you can't make it in. I love this place. I can bring back all of my little ones gently used items, get store credit, and use it to buy the next gadget he needs, or even something practical like a pack of diapers. If I have something in mind I want to buy, I'll keep an eye on their Instagram and often it will pop up in a week or so. I have been a loyal customer for all 3 kids. I'm beyond angry and I feel I've never been disrespected. Danielle blantanly and abrasivley was rude to me and my family tonight at 5:30 p.m. Never in a million years could I fathom the rudeness. Unprofessional and scary. I'm in complete and utter shock. After telling my 3 year old not to open a bag (totally fine and we didnt see him do so) I began to talk to my husband as to why he was pointing and crying pointing at Danielle and she jumped in to say that she didnt do anything to my son. And that she didnt take anything from him. I felt so uneasy I said I didnt mean you. I began talking to my husband because I felt it to be uneasy and I said that that was rude, She jumped in the conversation while in the other room, and said I was not rude and If you're going to talk about me like that you can leave the store. I proceeded to say it was very unprofessional to jump into a private conversation I was having. And she continued to say I can leave the store if I wanted to talk about her. I'm appalled that the owners have someone so rude working. After I checked out I began a conversation with a customer who had left the store with her younger son , as my husband loaded the 3 kids up , i asked if she witness the interaction. And although she did not and we had a conversation about our children same in age, being the toddlers they are, DANIELLE came out on the phone and threatened to call the police if I didnt leave the property. Saying I was harassing the customers. I even have video of the interaction I felt it would be necessary because of the aggressiveness of the whole interaction inside the store. My kids even said not nice about the attitude she was delivering. I'm..... grasping at my words . I've never been asked to leave an establishment. I'm embersssed. I pride myself in respecting retail and any works . Any human. I'm just so upset. I truly wish that their cameras had audio. I'm in tears and scared to ever go back. But I do need the owner to contact me . This was just not okay. I had to rush out of the store cause she kept telling us to leave and that we were welcome to never come back and then she threatened to call the police. Utter shock. I'm in tears at how nervous and rude this was. Sorry for the mom rant, I'm just ..... shocked. Being a customer whose bought for all 3 kids. Im giving only three stars because I have not been happy with new changes to your store. I have been a long time customer for almost four years. When my youngest daughter was born four years ago i would spend about $40.00 weekely. This was my favorite baby resale in all of san diego. However as the years go on I notice more and more new stuff coming in and less and less of what im looking for from a baby resale. Im not looking to buy a $500.00 stroller or a $20.00 baby trendy item. If i wanted those items i would enjoy the experince of shopping at fashion vally mall. I dont feel like you can call yourself a baby resale with so much new stuff in your store. Are you turning the store into a baby boutique instead of a resale shop? I think the owner needs to choose what this shop is because its no longer what i would call a baby resale. I did have a great experince selling my items on friday . When I had my first son, I spent way too much money buying the best. With my second, I made a decision to try and be a little more thrifty; why spend a lot of money on something my newborn will grow out of in a month of two (and why that didn't click with the first, not sure. Learned it the hard way). I was on a hunt to find a frame stroller for errands and found this place. I didn't find a frame stroller for my car seat. However, I did find a nice heavy jacket for my newborn for our trip to Big Bear and other neat finds. Their resale items are in good condition and prices fair. But they also carry a good amount of new items. As with any other retail store, they carry much more stuff for girls than boys. They have a military discount and other ones, just can't remember. If you're looking for items you know you won't use for a long time and want to save money, or just want to save money in general, this is a great place to start! read more

I'm so happy I found this place. They price their items well and they are really good condition items. I've been to some other baby resale shops where the clothing has holes and they sell it like it's almost brand new. This is my favorite consignment shop for buying and selling. For selling they offer you more if you take the gift card. But if you want to cash out they give you about 50% of what they will sell it for. They are nice even when my kids are being brats. Let me just tell you, this is more than a children resale shop. Yes, they offer great resale prices. You can find things for half the price of the retail price. Sometimes for even less than that. I know this because I always look up the original product before I make a purchase. I was able to find a baby gym I wanted and was sold out online and on back order in all other places. What I mean by more than a resale shop, I mean they carry baby brands that other stores don't carry. I buy my jujube items here. And they give discounts when they have promotions. A big discount compared to the Amazin price. I was so happy! I also love searching new items from new brands they have that you can probably only find online. The saleswomen always show me the new products and the stories behind the brand. I love this store. I go here for new and resale stuff. I truly love this store. It has become my baby to go store. Especially, since online store brands aren't always sold in stores anymore. I haven't sold used items to them yet so I can't speak for that but I love this store. I recently set aside a day to venture out and enjoy some baby consignment shopping. I'm new to this, haven't done a lot of consignment shopping before, and Conceptions was the first place to visit on my list. It ended up being my favorite (and I visited several throughout the day)!. The girls working there were so sweet, and the selection was great. I scored some fabulous finds that were barely worn for a fraction of the cost of what I would have paid new. I also thought that their prices were reasonable, some of the other consignment stores that I visited were not priced much cheaper than if I were buying new, which was a big turnoff. Conceptions priced things very fairly, and best of all, they were having a Buy 2 Get 2 Free sale! I am now following their FaceBook page so that I am aware next time they have a sale like this, it saved me a ton! Great selection, great prices and great staff. What more could I ask for? This is a great resale shop with a wide selection of gently used baby gear and clothes. I was surprised at how new most of the clothes looked as baby clothes are generally washed a hundred times and then sold. They have a wish list for specific items. I am hopeful for the item I added. There is also an email list for events and specials. There are discounts listed for easy viewing. She also didn't make me feel guily for using it. I got the military discount. I also used my cc on a total that was less than $10 without a fuss. I will definitely be returning to this store even though it's a hike for me out to Santee. You can always count on finding something when walking in. They have the best selection, especially on clothes. The prices beat other nearby resale stores. When selling clothes they pick out a fair amount, given you bring in the right season. I'm so happy to have found this place. I live less than a quarter mile from the new location - it's close enough to walk to. A friend recommended that I check it out because they buy a lot of their kids' stuff there. I was skeptical of a resale shop because I didn't want to shop through junk, but this place isn't junky. You can tell that they have taken time and care to stock only good items. The clothing is all like-new, barely worn items, and the other things they stock like furniture is all stuff I'd feel comfortable to have in my home. I almost had an issue with a purchase I made, but thanks to good customer service we were able to resolve the problem. Sometimes a problem can become such a good thing, because now I know they care about their customers and I trust them even more! I'll be shopping here a LOT, especially the clothing for my rapidly growing boy! I never visited the old location because I never wanted to try to access the parking lot (it was in a weird spot), but this new location is great. They have a very nice, clean storefront with tons of parking. I hear the old shop didn't have AC but this one is air conditioned for your shopping comfort. I feel comfortable in there! I love this place. They always have super cute clothes and great customer service as well! I used to go to the Baby Exchange in La Mesa but I wasn't feeling the love there. The longer drive is worth it! Additionally, one of the many times I was there, I realized after bringing a huge stack of clothes I wanted to buy that I had forgotten my debit card (Mom brain).
