We went down on the Key West Express on 5/16/25 and returned on 5/18/25 from Fort Myers. Ernie, one of the crewman, highly recommended Conch electric cars. He said they had the best prices in town and they will treat you well. I am here to say, they do not have the best prices in town and they nickel and dime you. I would encourage you not to rent from Conch Electric unless you like the convenience of having a rental company right outside of the Key West ferry terminal. For a short walk, you can get great deals from other rentals. We could've got a better deal from the resort that we stayed in at parrot Key, but we didn't know that until after the fact. OF NOTE: parking is $6/hr and there is almost NO free parking downtown. When we went downtown to do the hop on hop off ride, the company was nice enough to allow us to park rental in their parking lot. read more

We had reservations for the rental of an electric cart while on vacation on Key West. The reservation process was very easy and access to their facility is conveniently close to the Key West Express for visitors without cars. Due to unforeseen changes of our stay on the island we had to cancel the rental. We had to send an email and the company was very accommodating to cancel without any penalties. This is great customer service. We will definitely book with them again during our next visit! read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with the owner of this company. I rented a car for 4 days and it broke down on the way to my hotel, they brought a replacement an hour later. The replacement would not run either so we returned it the next morning and the owner would not refund 3 of the four days even though we had the car less than 24 hours. He told me that he did not care if we gave him a bad review and stated that it would not hurt his business, people like him hurt honest business owners, I recommend staying away from this company!! read more

Uh, wouldn't you expect an 'electric' car? Check the website, check the reservation made days in advance the receipt says: 'electric'. NOPE. Not electric. Not fume free, not quiet. Expected to be able to tour and hear our guide. We ended up calling uber and letting it sit, at the hotel-- thats how bad it was. Barely any brakes and clutch screaming loud. Embarrassing, not safe nor fun. Plus, still have to pay $20 everytime you want to park!! Uber or feet a better option!!!!! read more

Terrible experience, the first car had no blinkers had to wait on the second car the people were very rude and I found it very unorganized.

The cars were very cute. We reserved a cart for 2, but they didn't have any when we got there so they gave us a cart for 4. I'm not aware of they charged any more for that but getting into parking spaces made it a little more difficult. We were unaware that we had to pay for parking which was the reason we got a cart so we wouldn't have the hassle. The cart was $137 to rent for 4 hours. I thought that was excessive. The cart also starting losing its charge toward 4 pm so we brought it back. We expected the cart to be fully charged at pick up. So it either loses a charge too quickly or it wasn't fully charged. We didn't have to be on the ship until 5:30 pm but they wouldn't give us the extra hour. I thought for the cost, that was too rough. Since we didn't use the cart that much and parking was a major problem in the off season, I think next time we will take the free shuttle that has 18 stops so we can get on and off as we please without the hassle. If you are planning on having a few drinks, the golf carts are a bad idea. Stick to the air conditioned shuttle and see Key West. read more

We were given a car that barely had a charge. After about 30 minutes of normal speed, it dropped down to 15 mph and locals were honking and yelling at us. For the last hour we were going 2-5 mph and my daughter had to get out to push us in order to get back in time to make it back on to key west express jet boat. So our 5-6 hours on the island was totally wasted. They offered no discount or refund for our troubles bc we didn't call earlier in the day to "complain" we thought we were being kind not complaining and just going with the flow so our day was decent. But apparently that's what they expect. The woman at the counter was RUDE. The man taking the car from us was RUDE. On top of all this I was issued an extra $45 fee due to a ticket I never even saw, nor did they show us when we returned the car. I have no proof at all of the ticket. Let me add... it was my daughter birthday... so to push an electric car to get back on time, and then having a sore back next day was the gift they gave to her. I would NOT recommend! There are plenty of other places to get golf carts on the island. Key west express give you a flyer promoting the business, just don't do it. There is no special pricing as you are told, and the place is tan by a bunch of jerks that just want your money and don't care at all that you enjoyed your time properly on the island. read more

Rented a golf cart today from Conch. From the start everything was going well, that is until I was given a cart! #1 the steering was extremely hard. #2 The brakes, when they worked, were very sluggish, almost hit a couple of pedestrians. I feel, and it is my opinion that this was an older cart, that has had improper repairs and modifications and should be sidelined. read more

Rent elsewhere! The only good thing about this place is if you are arriving to by the Key West Express, it is right where the boat comes into and you don't have to travel far to get to them. It is worth it to travel to a different place, I am certain. We got off of the boat where we put in our reservation for a cart. The people working there immediately hound you about what you want to rent and will not listen to what you are trying to tell them. I needed 2 four seated golf carts for my day visit and the lady was in my face yelling before I could get the words out, wanting to know how many were in my party. Once we were able to explain what we wanted, then I was thrown a clip board to fill out the rental paperwork with no explanation. There is NO customer service at this place. At the conclusion of our day when we were turning the golf carts back in, my husband was trying to let them know that the windshield wiper did not work, the horn did not work and the wheel was extremely hard to turn. The lady told him to not worry about it and to hurry and get to the boat before they leave us. Very rude and will never rent from them again. read more

Wish I could put 0 stars...we rented 2 cars two days in advance for a party of ten, when we arrived to pick up the vehicles they informed us that the 8 person car we rented was rented out the day before. We were discussing the issue with the woman at the counter and was told they were very busy and it just happens. At one point she stated she would just refund us to get us on our way, which would leave us stranded for the day. I ended up getting charged for the 8 person car for a 6 person car. It's convenient to the ferry and that's it. My cart had a low battery and we had to push it in to the lot. The lady at the counter was not helpful and well, we should've gone elsewhere. Cars are neat although they sound like they're going to fall apart. Was given a contract with no return time. Their website says all cars to be returned before closing which is 5 pm. I get a call at 1pm saying the car was supposed to be back at noon. I looked at the contract and there was no return time listed. When we got the car back the kid had to call the boss, I guess. Since there was no time listed on my portion it was obvious it was added later. If it were my business I'd have offered the car for the next 3 hours, but no. They wanted $80 for those three after the contract debacle. I will not use them again. read more

Rented an electric car for five days for $597 and called them to extend it for another day and the woman tells me it would be an extra $240. I had be renting it at a rate of $119.40 a day. Taking my business else where next year. read more

Located right at the KeyWest Express terminal, if that's how you're getting to the Keys, you can't beat the convenience. The ppl are very friendly and helpful, but the car we got was rough. Didn't want to get moving or stop moving! Being a little beat up I can live with but the "truck" didn't lock and the "glove box" lid was missing so you couldn't secure anything in any way, and it wouldn't go faster than 9-10mph. No bueno. Maybe some of their other carts are in better shape but this is what I had so that's what I have to go on. When I go back, I don't know if I'll rent from there again or not but since this was my first time, I'm leaning toward trying someone else. read more

We originally called our Concierge at the hotel to get a golf cart for 8 people. We needed it for 5 days, they quoted us $650!! We decided to call a couple other places, Conch Electric being one of those said places & our rate with everything included was only $400. We called a 3rd place just to compare, and the guy said you better jump on that $400, you'll never find a better deal...so we did. The owner, Renata, is super nice, as are the employees. We had a great cart, went with the gas so we didn't have to plug it in everyday....extremely comfortable and fun to buzz around town in. They came to get us at our hotel, and as an additional bonus, came to get the cart from us so we could stay and watch Football....thank you Conch Electric Cars! read more

Oh man, if you are coming here for just the day don't bother. Get off the boat they have the carts ready, then they rifle you into a van for twenty minutes to another location to get the actual carts. Go on foot or look elsewhere. read more

We rented an electric car from a very nice man. He was willing to accommodate our needs for an extra 2 hours and negotiated that well. We were given no instructions on where we could and couldn't go. "It's key wet man, enjoy!" Within an hour our car ran out of battery and when I called to tell them that we were having problems, the man yelled at me when I told him where we were!! We got back close to the rental office and they switched us out with a car with a working battery but it was in need of repairs. The passenger front seat had a broken back. The vehicle creeped and popped like it was falling apart! No blinkers working at all We parked to do do some shopping and when trying on some clothes, we list the key. I called in to tell them what had happened and once again the man became hysterical and was yelling at me. He said he didn't understand where we were and hung up on me. I called back with the physical address and he said he didn't have an extra key. What was he to do??? How did I lose it? Where did I lose it? I got aggravated and hung up on him. I called back a few minutes later for yet another person to answer, and she said she had no idea who I was or what I needed. we had no choice but to leave the vehicle to get to the Key West express and by the time we got back there, the vehicle was there. I think this is a scam and they said when I talked to the lady at the desk, she said that they didn't have an extra key and she had to go through numerous keys to find one to fit it but then they did have one. I said so you did have a key and she said oh no we didn't have a key!!! Liars!! So we got a three hour rental out of a six hour rental. Walk several blocks to town and rent from a reputable company!!!! read more

We received the rental of the scooter as a Christmas present from our children. The gift was for an eight hour rental. The owner was extremely friendly and flexible and let us change it to 24 hours. They picked up our party of four at our hotel to get the scooter. Explained all the workings of the scooter. Scooter itself was great and convenient to have to get around Key west. When it came time to return scooter they walked to our hotel to pick it up. Great great service. read more
