My car is amazing, can compete with any other in a kick down or out of the hole on Boston's rotaries, and has tech that predates high surveillance or 'stop-me-because-I'm-too-stupid-to-drive-myself' controls. I'm a stickler for manufacturer-recommended maintenance, and expect my vehicles to last in return. I regularly washed, vacuumed, and "Mom detailed" it myself, but it was always another physically-demanding task on my miles-long lists. Finally, after our life-embracing kids left the nest and most of our hairy drooling pets lived out their best lives, I decided to 'treat myself' and got my SUV detailed by Village Detail in Acton on 2A. Most women my ilk were getting full-day spa treatments and aesthetic services if not going on weekend retreats, but I just wanted a 14-cup food processor, my gutters de-mucked as well as I used to do it, and a clean car. The job Village Detail did back then was incredible -- so beyond what I ever could have done, actually *10* star. Today, my same now-17 year old car is having major work done (rear axel shafts, front sway bar bushings, and more) at a dealership not far away, and on a lark, I asked if they could detailed it inside and out before returning it to me tomorrow. They said yes. I assumed they'd be taking it to Village Detail, but just learned they now plan to perform the service 'in house.' I'm skeptical because I know dealership versions of 'detailing' are always just to make a car look pretty and clean enough to resell, whereas professional detailers like Village Detail understand the science and art of detailing because their mission is completely different -- to genuinely restore and preserve the owner's asset. But my visit two weeks ago was unbelievable. I will never use their "services" again. I would give them zero stars if I could. After purchasing gasoline, I decided to go through the car wash. During the car wash the machine apparently malfunctioned and stopped mid-cycle. Both the entry and exit doors to the car wash were shut and did not open. I waited a few minutes to see if the machine would restart or if anybody would come out to advise. When noone arrived, I tooted the horn a few times thinking that would get attention from inside the store. Again, nothing. I looked up the phone number for the gas station and called them from my cell phone twice. Each time it continually rang and no one answered. I turned my vehicle off, as there was no ventilation for exhaust fumes, and exited my vehicle hoping to find an intercom system or interior door exiting into the station. There was no intercom system, but there was one door that looked like it would lead into the station but it was locked. I pounded on it several times and no one came to the door, in spite of it apparently leading into the station where I'm sure the attendant could clearly hear me. After spending a few minutes walking around the interior of the car wash and seeing no emergency exit button, help button or any means of escape, I hoped that the car wash would not suddenly start while I was outside of my car. I finally saw a metal box near the exit door that had a button that had very faded writing that I thought may read "open". With no other option, I decided to push the button and see if one of the doors would open. Luckily, the exit door did open. I had no idea how long it would stay open so I quickly got into my vehicle and drove out. I was stuck inside the car wash bay for about 10 minutes, and my vehicle had soap all over it, as you can see from the picture. I went inside and spoke to the attendant named Maria who was the most uninterested service person I have ever come across. I explained what happened and told her I wanted my money back. At first she was not going to comply until I demanded to know who the owner of the stationed is. At that point she refunded my money and told me she didn't know who the owner was. After I asked the same question about five times, she finally said that the person's name was Charlie. She said she didn't know his last name, a phone number, or an email for me to contact him. When she saw I was not going to give up, she finally told me that I may be able to get a hold of him by calling the Concord Mobile station. She claimed she did not have the number for that either. I explained to her that the car wash should be shut down immediately. If there was a medical emergency or the machine suddenly started up while I was outside the vehicle it could have been a very dangerous situation. She clearly did not care and did nothing but look at me like she was bored. If it was colder outside there would have been ice on the wet floor of the car wash bay, which would have made it hazardous to walk. I was amazed that somebody who represents a business could have so little concern for what just happened inside that bay. Luckily I do not have anxiety or claustrophobia, as that would have been a real problem. I left Maria, the "service" attendant and called the Concord Mobile station. I was told Charlie was not there but that his son was, so I spoke to him, explaining what I just went through. He apologized, and said he would send somebody over to close the bay immediately (I later learned this did not happen). I told him that I appreciated his apology but I would like to hear the same from the owner himself. I gave Charlie's son my contact information and still have heard nothing. I would encourage future customers to ignore this station, just as they ignore their customers. You will be better served to find another gas station.

They decided to pull up on the side of the house, and send a text which was never seen. Waited out of sight on the side of my house and then canceled the appointment 20 minutes later instead of knocking on the door or even calling the phone. Next available appointment is another 2 weeks away. I respect people's time a great deal, so it's unfortunate time was lost, but being dodgy and avoiding knocking on a door when people ready to receive them and open the garage for them is sad. I'm not in the habit of leaving a prized possession in the driveway. He decided to just cancel the appointment without properly notifying me of arrival, and moved appointments up from tomorrow, instead of working tomorrow or asking to reschedule to that, he decided it was a family day now. This business does not notify you of them being at the worksite, and they don't care about their customers because if they did they would knock. Or call. Or light a fire and use a blanket to smoke signal. I can not recommend this business as they don't respect or value their customers time, and since they have plenty of customers available, they blow off whoever lands on the day (scheduled week out) that they want to take off, or easy jobs.

Some people may think he take long to detail a car but he will leave that car without a spec of dirt. He cleans the places you never knew got dirty. He is extremely passionate about the work he does. I've recommended him to my co workers and he's always early to the appointments.
