White Park is across the street from the University of New Hampshire Law School. It was 68' sunny and gorgeous as I walked the trails. The park is pristine. Zero trash, clean landscaping, well maintained playground. There's a building on the property called The Merrimack Lodge. It looks like a cafe and meeting space, but it was closed. From the illustration, the lake might be used for ice skating, and the lodge possibly serves hot chocolate and snacks. That would be nice to experience! There's a hockey court, baseball field, and a fenced in cement patio with little houses (but I couldn't figure out what that was for). Dogs were playing fetch with owners and kids were chasing birds. This a seriously amazing park! It has play structures for every age and is made out of materials…read morethat don't get crazy hot in the sun. For the biggest kids there's a mini rock wall and super cool climbing structure. There are a ton of swings and loads of benches. There's a section of benches with a canopy over it for shade and a bunch more under some nice big trees. Best of all they have a splash pad! There's a tube like thing that mists for the little ones and some big jets that shoot up for the older kids. There's also a nice walking path by a small man made pond. Before they renovated there was frisbee golf though I'm not sure if that's still there. And they also have a public restroom. My pictures won't do it justice, this park rocks!

I looked around and could not figure out where the screen was (if they even had one) because other songs, kids were mumbling. I do appreciate that there's a middle area where ice skating beginners can practice and learn. They also had laser tag, but no one was interested. Pizza was the best they got for food and kept me full while my niece had fun. There was also a 1 lap race for different age groups and if you were an expert skater, they made you start further back.

Odiorne Point State Park is a public recreation area that opened in Rye, New Hampshire in July…read more1972. It is administered by the New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation. The park is located along the Atlantic seacoast in Rye, not far from Portsmouth. The area is the site of the Pannaway Plantation: the first European settlement in New Hampshire. Settled in 1622, the plantation was completely abandoned by the 1630s when the settlers moved to nearby Strawberry Banke. The land was settled in the mid-1660s by the Odiorne Family, whom the park is now named after. From 1942 to 1947, the park was the home of Fort Dearborn. The ruins of the deactivated World War II-era fort can still be seen today. Today the park is home to hiking trails, bike paths, a playground, picnic areas, pavilions, and a Seacoast Science Center which opened in 1992. My family and I visited Odiorne Point State Park this summer while we were heading to Maine for a summer getaway. We had some time to kill before we could check in to our AirBnb, so we decided to stop at the park. We had fun exploring the grounds and my two sons especially enjoyed playing on the nautical-themed playground. The highlight of the park is the Seacoast Science Center. There are all sorts of exhibits devoted to the conservation of marine and coastal environments. My two sons loved learning about whales, local shellfish populations, the local fishing industry, the fight against ocean pollution, and underwater exploration. There was even a cool gift shop where we picked up a few things. Whether you live in the area or you're just passing through like us, Odiorne Point State Park is a fun place for the whole family!

The best thing about this place is the cheap rental $5, skating is $5/ person, 5 yrs under skate for free. We wanted our daughter to try skating for the first time, so found this place online. Be sure to bundle up as it is cold on the ice. The push bars for beginners are hung by the side of the rink, and its first come first serve, free. They have a basic snack bar, no locker, but plenty of space on the bench to park your shoes and things. Great place to bring your kid for a few hours of indoor fun.

The zipline was a big hit, as was the climbing wall cube thingie. Lots of room to spread out, well maintained play structures that appeal to many ages, and good coffee close by. What's not to like?

Pros: Lighted…read morebaseball/soccer field (with timed sprinklers) with bleachers, dugouts. Lighted basket ball court that they flood & turn into an outdoor ice skating rink in the winter complete with "warming" center with a snack bar, bathrooms, etc. Extremely basic playground, a few toddler swings, a few big kid swings, a slide, etc, but it is fenced in (there are openings in the fence though, & they're open, not gated), with a bubbler, a picnic table, & a big tree that provides a nice shady spot no matter what the time of the day is or where the sun is. It's kept up really well, they do a nice job keeping the grass & shrubs trimmed. Conveniently located less than 1 mile from all of the schools in Jaffrey & from Jaffrey's town center & main street. Parking on the street & across the street. The grade school uses the area on field days for the higher grades. Cons: No gates on the openings to the playground. Small, so if there are more than a few people there you're kind of "on top" of each other. I've seen it get super crowded on game days. It's Jaffrey, so if you are there at the same time as some "townies" & they're chatty you might get stuck having to make small-talk with people you'd rather not get stuck having to chat with. The parking on the street & across the street can get super crowded on game days & big trucks & XL SUV's frequently park on the street leaving their vehicles sticking out into the street... Overall: I think having the ice skating rink in the winter really "makes" this area. During warmer winters when the lakes don't freeze over for very long it is nice to have somewhere to go to ice skate.
