They demolished what was there and effectively laid the stones in record time. Quality of finished project met my expectations and their suggestions for making the finished project even better than I had envisioned was very much appreciated. Cleanup daily was neat. Pricing was very fair for the amount of work that was done.

They did an OK job although…read morethere were a couple of basic mistakes (fire pit not centered, walkway lines not lining up) but not horrible. The problems started soon after when some touch up work needed to be done from damage caused by another contractor. We never expected them to fix it for free as the other contractor was going to pay for it. Still, Manny went in a tirade with my wife seriously disrespecting her and giving her grief. They did ultimately come out to make the repairs at no charge. Fast forward to now. We had some lights that burnt out needing to be replaced, we wanted the pavers power washed and resealed, and there were a handful of pavers that needed to be reattached... nothing major. My wife wanted to give Manny another chance as they did the original work. She called him and told him what needed to be done. He said text the address and he will let her know when he can come by to look at it. She did and we never heard back. She contacted him again a few days later and asked what happened, got excuses. A day and time were set. The day comes, and I have taken off work. He texts her in the morning saying he's stuck on a job far away and can't make it. The day is rescheduled. The next scheduled day comes, I take off work again, the time comes and goes and no Manny. After waiting 2 hours, my wife texted him. He read the message a few minutes later and never answered back. That was days ago, and we have still never heard back from him. Keep in mind, this is how he is treating an existing customer who has previously paid him 10's of thousands of dollars. You be the judge. I am giving the original work 3.5 and everything since 0, so I am being generous with the 2 rating. To Manny's response... I have the off centered fire place and lines not lining up on the walkway... not my imagination. We also still have your insulting messages from 10 years ago. Finally, you have time to read and give a long response to this review from Mexico, but you don't have time for a quick phone call or text saying an emergency came up and you can't make it. I don't think so. You keep saying "we", but this has all been you personally. Not an employee, not Crown Pavers... you. As for problems during the job 10 years ago, also not true. The problems only started when we called you about the repairs which again the contractor was going to pay for.

He was on site every day, actively involved in digging, grading, and overseeing the entire process. Drainage was a top priority for me, and Juan made sure everything was done right. His team installed a trench drain and carefully graded the area so water flows exactly where it should. He was always responsive, easy to communicate with, and his pricing was very fair. The project took about a week. Day 1: Digging, adding soil, and grading Day 2: Trench drain installation, more hand grading, soil compacting Day 3: Soil compaction and rebar placement Day 4: Concrete pour On pour day, his crew showed up strong, about 10 people on site by 5:30 AM, even during a heat wave. They worked efficiently to stay ahead of the curing process and used an additive in the concrete to prevent rapid water evaporation, so we didn't need to keep watering it afterward. Three days later, they returned to remove the forms, and Juan personally did a final walkthrough to check for any issues or cracks. He is very detail oriented, and his proposal was clear and straightforward with no surprises at all. He also handles concrete demolition and concrete retaining wall work. If you are looking for someone reliable and skilled, I highly recommend Juan. Juan is the king of concrete!

We hired Ivan's Masonry for two jobs: driveway renovation and a new stairway with walkway. From onset it was a long journey for us figuring out what material we will be comfortable with. Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. We are wising Ivan to prosper in his business, and for you guys - wishing you to choose your masonry contractor wisely. Go Ivan's Masonry!

The cost to patch it up didn't make sense financially, so I decided to get quotes to build an entirely new one. Got the usual four estimates from various construction companies. A couple of them went way over than what I had budgeted for, and the remaining two were neck-and-neck. I went with Coronado because their common-sense approach and presentation gave me a lot of confidence in working with them. Sergio, who drafted the estimate, actually presented a much better option than a wooden deck: a concrete patio. That made a lot more sense to me as I wouldn't have to worry too much about maintenance. He also worked up some renderings of what the finished product would look like, and that pretty much sold it for me (along with the very reasonable estimate). The whole project took a few weeks, from the demo of the old deck to the concrete pouring, and all throughout, Sergio made himself available to any questions or concerns that I had. Additionally, his business is family-run, so I got to meet his father, his brother, and some of his other relatives who came down to work on the project. They were all courteous, professional, and competent. There were some minor fixes (some being electrical) that adjusted the original estimate a bit, but those made sense to me and were quite reasonable as well. Finding an honest, hard-working, and reliable general contractor can be difficult. Make it easy for yourseld and give Coronado Construction a try!
